When summer comes, don't you just crave cold noodles? So, I went to Kanzaki River! ・Hiya-hiya Tori-ten Set 1080 yen ・Udon extra-large size 100 yen ・Chikuwa-ten topping 250 yen The thick, chewy noodles with a gentle dashi broth that has a hint of dried baby sardines. The Tori-ten and Chikuwa-ten are both big sizes and really delicious. Yes, thick, firm, and big ♡ Thank you for the meal.

Around 1:50 pm on Sunday afternoon, there were about 12-3 people waiting outside the restaurant. The parking lot across the street was full, so I circled around and parked at the parking lot on the opposite side of the restaurant. At this point, there were about 10 people waiting outside. We were given the menu while waiting outside, and soon after we were asked to place our order. It seemed like the turnover was quite fast. After waiting outside, we were seated at a table for 4 inside. I ordered the chiku-tama curry and tori-bukkake, which were delicious. The udon noodles were thick, and the tori-tempura was noticeably large, even the regular size portion was quite generous and left me feeling very full. It seems like there is a restaurant nearby that serves thinner noodles, which I might want to try next time. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

I visited the restaurant around 5:30 pm on a regular Friday. There were a few people waiting in line before opening, but the inside of the restaurant was quite spacious, so there was no need to wait outside at that time. I had the tempura soba, and it was delicious with the perfect firmness of the noodles and tasty tempura. Considering the price as well, I think it's a very good restaurant. I would definitely like to visit again.

It's been two and a half months. "Sanuki Udon Shirao" in Kanzaki River. September 19, 2023, Tuesday. I'm in the mood for udon today. It's been since July 3 since I last visited "Sanuki Udon Shirao." It's hot, but I'm thinking of having curry. I was hungry since morning, so I decided to have an early meal. Arrived at 10:52. There were four people ahead of me waiting inside the restaurant. Ordered. Seated at 11:03. Udon arrived at 11:13. Toriten curry set * with mixed rice for 1320 yen. The lingering summer heat is tough, but I was in the mood for warm curry udon. The thick and firm noodles, curry broth, three large pieces of chicken tempura, and mixed rice are my favorite menu items. Dipping the chicken tempura in the broth and eating it is so addictive. I sweated a lot, but I was completely satisfied with a full stomach. Thank you for the meal. #SanukiUdonShirao #Shirao #KanzakiRiver

I arrived 10 minutes before the restaurant opened at lunchtime on a regular day (* 'ᵕ' )☆ There were 3 people, including myself, waiting in line. While waiting, we were given the menu to place our orders. I ordered the Tempura Chicken Udon set with a large serving ◥█̆̈◤࿉∥. The large serving cost an additional 100 yen, and a smaller serving was 5 yen less. For the weekday lunch special, I chose mixed rice with vegetables and added a half-cooked egg tempura as a topping. After being seated, the food was served in about 10 minutes. The udon looked beautiful and appetizing. The noodles had a strong texture and were very chewy. The soup was light and gentle on the stomach. Each piece of tempura chicken was large and satisfying, with a delicious crispy coating. The mixed rice with vegetables had a rich flavor, and even as a standalone dish, it was satisfying ( ¯﹀¯ ). The rating of 3.9 on Tabelog is well-deserved!

It was incredibly delicious!! I was impressed. The noodles were chewy and the tempura was huge. I ordered extra noodles, but it was quite a lot. I think a regular portion is enough. The mixed rice had a strong and flavorful broth with lots of ingredients. The staff were efficient and kind, which was great.

There is a delicious udon restaurant located northeast from Hankyu Kobe Line's Kamisakigawa Station! I have been there multiple times since it first opened. Even though it has become so popular, the deliciousness has not diminished, and I find myself going back again and again. This time, I tried the seasonal limited edition Nasu Tempura Udon (hot) for 950 yen. The saying goes, "Don't let your wife eat autumn eggplants," but this dish is really well-fried. The batter sticks perfectly to the eggplant, making it crispy. The eggplant is sliced for easy chewing. It's so delicious, so be sure to try it before autumn ends.

I have always wanted to visit Bucan in Sanuki Udon. Went there for lunch on a weekday with my husband. We arrived around noon, parked in a coin parking lot, and lined up. While waiting, we looked at the menu and decided what to order in advance. Once we were seated, our order was taken quickly. We ordered the chilled toriten set and chikuwa tempura set, both with side dishes of mixed rice for weekday lunch. We asked for less noodles since we wanted to try different things. The udon was firm, chewy, and had a good weight to it. It had been a while since I had such delicious Sanuki udon. I want to try the kamaage next time! The cold dipping sauce had a good flavor of dried bonito and it coated the noodles well. It was easy to drink up. We traded the chicken tempura for chikuwa tempura, and my husband also added the limited edition eggplant tempura as a topping. The chikuwa tempura was delicious! Chikuwa can be hit or miss, but the one here was really to my liking. I definitely prefer the chikuwa tempura over the chicken tempura. Also, the mixed rice was incredibly delicious! It had a strong flavor with a noticeable presence of chicken. I would definitely go for seconds at home. I can't wait to go back for more udon and mixed rice!

I went there a while ago so I don't remember well, but I think I had the tempura with dipping sauce. I ordered the large size and it was a huge portion, my stomach felt really full afterwards. If you go right when they open on a weekday, you might have to wait a bit but you can easily get in. Aim for late morning on a weekday!

I visited the restaurant during its regular opening hours for the first time. There was already a line formed, and they started seating customers a little before 11 am on that day. I managed to get a seat just in time. Although I was interested in the bukkake udon, I ordered the lunch chicken tempura udon set (1,180 yen) with a side of seasonal eggplant tempura (250 yen). The food was served after about a 15-minute wait. I was surprised by the large portions of two big pieces of chicken tempura and the eggplant tempura. The serving time was justified. First, I tried the udon noodles. The aroma of the broth was light and pleasant. The noodles had a good texture and a nice chewiness. The eggplant tempura had large slices with plenty of moisture inside, making it juicy. The chicken tempura was large, with a thin coating that allowed you to enjoy the meat. The tempura was delicious even with just a little salt. I added some ginger halfway through, but it might not go well with the fragrant broth... that's just my personal opinion. I found a restaurant worth waiting in line for, and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Tempura Set (1300 yen) - There were 4 people waiting outside for about 10 minutes. There were chairs under the eaves, so waiting was not too bad. The highlight was definitely the tempura. It was fried very thinly and had a crispy texture. Despite the generous portion, it didn't feel heavy. The udon had a Kansai-style broth, with a good balance of firmness that paired well with the tempura. I would definitely like to visit again.

This is my third visit to this always crowded restaurant. This time, I visited around 6:30 pm on a weekday and waited in line for about 20 minutes. I ordered the chilled tempura set with an additional topping of eggplant tempura for 150 yen, and a mixed vegetable rice for 250 yen. I like the light but flavorful dashi broth that you can enjoy until the end. The udon noodles have a strong chewiness, even with a normal portion, it's very satisfying. Both the mixed vegetable rice and tempura are delicious! This restaurant ranks in the top two of my favorite udon places in Kansai. (The other one is Yukino in Osaka)

I visited Shiroan for lunch on Sunday. I arrived around 12 o'clock, and it was a popular restaurant as expected! There were about 10-15 people waiting in line. I waited for about 50 minutes before being seated. I ordered the Chikutama Tempura Curry for 1,220 yen. The udon noodles were very chewy and delicious, and the tempura was crispy and satisfying. The curry broth had a strong dashi flavor, which I really liked. The mixed grain rice for 250 yen was also delicious with the flavor soaked in. However, the mushroom tempura in the tempura set that my wife ordered seemed to be fried a bit too much, causing some of the moisture to be lost. I hope they can improve on this point. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after seeing high ratings on Tabelog. The restaurant opens at 11 am, so I arrived at the same time. There is a large parking lot next to the restaurant, making it easily accessible by car. Upon arrival, there were about 20 people waiting in line, but everyone entered the restaurant when it opened, and I was able to sit in the waiting area inside without suffering from the heat. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was finally seated. The restaurant has a large counter in the center and about 7 table seats. I ordered the Cold Udon with Tempura Set (large serving) for 1300 yen. The udon noodles were shiny and had a strong texture, slightly on the thicker side. They were very satisfying to eat, with a good chewy texture. The broth had a light and fragrant taste, showing that it was carefully made, but I personally felt that the wheat aroma was a bit weak. The tempura was crispy and delicious, served with salt for dipping. The staff consisted of 4 men and 3 women, with two women handling the service. They were busy throughout, ensuring that customers were not kept waiting. However, they were a bit too quick to clear the dishes, which gave off a slightly rushed feeling. Overall, while the udon was tasty, I didn't feel a strong urge to revisit compared to other udon restaurants I have recently visited.

Chicken tempura set with extra noodles ¥1,280
I visited during late lunch on a weekday and there were only two groups waiting. I didn't have to wait long to be seated. This time, I ordered the mixed rice set and extra noodles. It was quite a generous portion. The noodles had a good texture, definitely different from the usual chain restaurants. Also, the chicken tempura here is seriously delicious. Three large, hot pieces of chicken tempura filled me up. It was a very satisfying lunch! Thank you for the meal.

The fresh soy sauce udon is a must-try. I recommend adding the eggplant tempura on the side. Some people say that udon is not just about the texture, but the udon here is top-notch. I have never tasted udon this delicious with just fresh soy sauce and sudachi. Eating one bowl at a time is the best way to enjoy it. I have been here multiple times and in my personal udon ranking, this place is number one. The half-cooked egg tempura is especially delicious.

Whenever I return to Osaka, I always make sure to eat Sanuki udon. I had the impression that they had taken quite a bit of time off during the Obon holiday in August, but it seems like they didn't take much time off at all! I thought I must go! I visited and although there was a short wait, the operation seemed to be very smooth. I usually get the tempura set with cold udon, but this time I ordered the Chikudama Tempura Bukkake. Needless to say, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had never gotten off at Kami-Sakawa station before, but I found this place on Tabelog and was curious, so I decided to come check it out. I heard that it can get pretty crowded on days off, but maybe because of the approaching typhoon, there were only about 3 groups waiting in line, so I was able to get in fairly quickly. The seating consists of large round tables and about 6 movable table seats along the wall. I ordered the cold dashi set with tempura udon and the tempura udon with chicken. The firm Sanuki udon and crispy tempura were both very delicious. The tempura included chikuwa, egg, shiitake mushrooms, shiso leaves, seaweed, eggplant, and shishito peppers, all served on separate plates. The cold dashi was refreshing as well. The portions were generous, and I left feeling full. They also offer takeout, and there were a lot of UberEats delivery people there.

I went around 6 o'clock, but had to wait for an hour. When I left the restaurant around 7:30, there was a long line. The noodles were firm and had a great texture, and the tempura reminded me of the famous dish from a traditional Japanese restaurant. Even as a ramen lover, I couldn't help but want to come back to this place again!

On a weekday around 7:30 PM, after waiting outside for about 30 minutes, I finally entered the restaurant. The system allowed us to place our order while waiting outside. I ordered the meat udon with fried tofu and a half-cooked egg tempura on top. The udon was supposed to be served hot, but the broth was lukewarm. Perhaps they did this for ease of eating. The meat was tasty, but it required quite a bit of chewing to swallow. The fried tofu was sweet and savory, cooked to perfection. The tempura coating on the half-cooked egg was thinner than I expected. The udon itself lacked chewiness. Many people around me were ordering raw soy sauce, so next time I want to try it with raw soy sauce. Thank you for the meal!

I ordered meat for the first time and it was really delicious! I ordered the "hot kake udon with tempura chicken set, rice not included, with meat topping"! Next time, I plan to try it with rice as a beef bowl! You can also get the udon with less noodles or in a large portion!
