I tried the limited-time Watermelon Frappuccino for the fourth time today. I wanted to try the Strawberry Frappuccino, but it was already gone, so I had to settle for the Watermelon Frappuccino. I asked for it without whipped cream because I don't like the thick cream in this hot weather. The red watermelon part and kiwi fruit are included, but the watermelon part is not too sweet and has a refreshing taste, while the kiwi is very sweet! It's a mystery why they combined watermelon and kiwi!

I ordered a Strawberry Frappuccino from Starbucks for 680 yen. At first, it was very sweet because there was a lot of strawberry sauce at the bottom. I mixed it well, but towards the end, the strawberry sauce was gone.

Starbucks Coffee menu can be customized to your liking by adding, increasing, changing, or removing syrups, sauces, etc. Customization options include (some at an additional cost): sauces (chocolate, caramel), milk substitution (low-fat milk, soy milk), flavor syrups (mocha, white mocha, vanilla, caramel, chai, classic), adding chocolate chips, decaffeinated, adding espresso, increasing coffee for Frappuccino, adjusting whipped cream, etc. This time, I ordered a Vanilla Cream Frappuccino with almond milk substitution, caramel sauce, and added chocolate chips. It's commonly known as "Almond Caramel Oreo-style Frappuccino." Almond Caramel Oreo-style Frappuccino. The chocolate sauce in Oreo-style Frappuccino was changed to caramel sauce. Furthermore, regular milk was changed to almond milk. The almond aroma and the sweet bitterness of caramel were added to Oreo. However, it's now completely different from Oreo. I went to a Starbucks near JR Kokura Station, at the entrance of Gintengai, and had some time before meeting my friends. I ordered a sakura donut and a sakura latte to boost my sugar levels for spring. I also got a donut to take home for my friends. The takeout bag had a cute cherry blossom pattern on it. I found it a bit difficult to place my order, but the kind staff at the register seemed like a goddess to me. I sat by the window on the second floor, watching people passing by below, and lost track of time. Suddenly, I realized my meeting time was approaching, so I hurried. The sakura latte had a beautiful decoration, but by the time I brought it up to the second floor, the sakura had melted into the foam, which was disappointing.

Finally made it to Starbucks after a long time, aiming for the Sakura Frappuccino. It was midday on a weekday, and there were many students in uniforms lined up, about 5 of them. I ordered the "Sakura Strawberry White Tapioca Frappuccino" and the "Sakura Donut". The Frappuccino looked cute with pink chocolate resembling cherry blossoms and Sakura-flavored rice crackers. The white tapioca did a great job in adding to the taste. I thought there would be several white tapioca balls like in a parfait, but they were soft and small enough to be sucked through a straw, similar to tapioca pearls. Despite worrying about the calories, I finished it because it was sweet and delicious. I was unsure when to eat the rice crackers, but ended up eating them last. I wish they would sell just these rice crackers. The Sakura Donut had a familiar taste, but it was tasty and had a good portion.

The Kyoto Machiya store always has a crazy long line. Today, the limited edition chocolate was sold out, so I decided to order a custom drink at Starbucks based on a popular Instagram account. I ordered a Bonbon Chocolat-style custom drink, which included changing the Vanilla Cream Frappuccino to Premium Milk for an extra 50 yen, adding caramel sauce under the whipped cream, adding chocolate sauce inside the cup and under the whipped cream, extra syrup, extra whipped cream, adding chocolate chips under the whipped cream without crushing them, lacto ice, and adding cocoa powder. It cost 590 yen for a Tall size. When I tried it, it was so delicious! I wasn't very interested in Starbucks before, but if they have such tasty drinks, I might become a regular customer. I also didn't know that they don't allow smoking... It's scary how much we distance ourselves from things we don't know. Starbucks, Fukuoka Yame tea Frappuccino, was very delicious. My favorite's favorite is also my favorite, and everything fell into place.

It has been open for about 17 years, giving off a sense of history. I personally like the slight sense of dignity it exudes. The shop is two stories high, with the main seating area on the second floor. There are mainly table and sofa seats. It was a bit cold in the morning, but the temperature kept rising, making it warmer. Naturally, my throat became dry. Before boarding the bullet train, I quenched my thirst. Since it was mid-afternoon on a weekday, the place was not crowded, allowing me to quietly enjoy my T Yuzu Citrus & Tea. I like the refreshing and easy-to-drink taste of this drink.

The photo of the coffee is from the summer of 2013. I first visited over 20 years ago. Recently, I have been going with colleagues after work, so I haven't taken any photos, but I have been back a few times. The coffee seems to have gotten more delicious compared to the past. Perhaps it's due to constant corporate efforts. However, in Japan, convenience stores are evolving in taste while keeping prices the same, so it feels like Starbucks is not as cost-effective in comparison. Starbucks seems to be selling the space, so I don't mind the price, but the lack of good customer service at the Kokura store may be a downside. It's not bad, it's actually good, but with so many customers, the resources available per person are inevitably reduced compared to other less busy stores.

During New Year's, my better half and I strolled around Kokura and after dinner (I'll post about that later), we walked to Starbucks and had a treat of a Goma Goma Goma Frappuccino (treated by my partner). It probably has about 3 types of sesame seeds in it? It had a strong sesame flavor, and even the black part at the bottom tasted like sesame sauce. There was a cookie or shortbread-like accent in it, which made it quite delicious. Why did they even think of making a Frappuccino with sesame seeds?

The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed nice, but it was quite crowded. Last time I went, the staff were friendly and welcoming, so I had a good time. However, when I went the other day, they seemed busy and there were no smiles, giving off a rushed feeling. The seating area was cold and the waiting line bothered me, so I left after only 2-3 minutes. I plan to visit again at a different time.

I decided to explore the area around Kokura Station, which is a transfer station for Shinkansen trains to Oita and Miyazaki. I took advantage of the opportunity to make a stopover at the station, as my journey from Osaka to Nakatsu in Oita exceeded 100km. I used a trick to exit the station without having my ticket collected, allowing me to explore the area and visit a coffee shop. I opted for Starbucks over McDonald's, as I wanted a more comfortable space to enjoy my coffee. The Starbucks staff kindly accommodated my request for a mug instead of a paper cup. The area around the station is bustling with competitors like McDonald's, Lotteria, and Doutor, with a Pablo Cheese Tart store opening nearby. Overall, I enjoyed my coffee at Starbucks.

In Kitakyushu, there are not many Starbucks, and I only know of the ones at this location and at Riverwalk. I don't usually go to these kinds of coffee shops because they are always crowded, but my better half loves them. After enjoying a delicious pasta (which I will post about later), I was treated to a Starbucks latte (I think it was called ESP) and an orange pie. It was around 7 pm on a Saturday night, and I was surprised to see that there were quite a few customers. The streets of Kokura around 7 pm on a Saturday night are probably as busy as Hakata Station area around 11 pm to midnight. The Starbucks latte was probably an espresso latte, and the orange pie was less sweet than I expected, with a light acidity that made it delicious. It paired well with the coffee.
