People in this age group tend to avoid hard liquor for health reasons. If they do drink, it's usually shochu with water. This whiskey was sold by Whiskey Mew years ago, but it's hardly consumed at popular shops in local cities. It may end up unsold, becoming dead stock at the store or being resold.

The novelization of the movie "Aircraft Carrier Ibuki" tells the story of Captain Ryuta Akitsu and Vice Captain Toshiya Niwa, who uphold the principle of self-defense even in the midst of combat, and Prime Minister Keiichiro Tarumi, who is committed to defending the nation in a new era. As they work to protect the peace of the nation in a turbulent Asia, one can't help but think about the future of Japan. This whisky, bottled by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions and Whisky Mew, with a label illustrated by Hideo Yamaoka, is meant to be enjoyed while contemplating the amber liquid in the glass. The content inside is a limited edition of 276 bottles of "Caol Ila 2009", aged for 8 years, with an alcohol content of 59.1%.

The whisky label features a piece from the series "New Forms of Thirty-Six Ghosts" by the ukiyo-e artist Yoshitoshi. Distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2022, this whisky has been aged for 3 years with an alcohol content of 62%. Made from malt, the spirits were produced using malt with a phenol value of 50ppm at the Eiwa-jima distillery. Selected from first-fill bourbon barrels, two casks were chosen by Stefan and Hideo Yamaoka for vatting. This whisky was created as an investment in Japanese whisky at the Eiwa-jima distillery, not for its taste after just 3 years of aging. Ukiyo-e may appear as exotic and fantastic Oriental beauty to foreign eyes, making it a good choice for labeling whisky for export. Ukiyo-e is also appreciated as an art form by modern Japanese people. It is likely that ukiyo-e was a form of entertainment product rather than a limited edition art piece for the wealthy elite back then.

During the Edo to Meiji period, there was a ukiyo-e artist named "Yoshitoshi Tsukioka." This whiskey label features a piece from his series of yokai paintings called "New Forms of Thirty-Six Ghosts," specifically "Sagimusume." "Sagimusume" is a performance in kabuki and Japanese traditional dance where a "white heron" falls in love with a human and suffers. This theme is similar to the Disney live-action movie "The Little Mermaid" currently showing. It's more of a "marriage between different species" or perhaps a "marriage between social classes"? In the Disney movie, will they focus on work or love? These are some of the themes that I believe are present.

It's not that the taste is not up to par for the high price, but it feels more like a whiskey made for investment in the distillery and branding purposes. Craft whiskies in Japan have not yet reached a level where the general public can easily enjoy them.

"Drank a whiskey with a label from the manga 'BLUE GIANT EXPLORER' secret Speyside 1998. It was the last glass. There's just a sip or two left, but someone else in this bar has already had about half the bottle of this whiskey, so I'll let them have the 'Last One Award' (empty bottle). It's not a particularly tasty whiskey for the price. If you're going to spend the same amount, there are more delicious blended whiskeys available, or you could spend it on something else you enjoy. I hope they start selling a blended whiskey with a label featuring 'Sawabe Yukiki' in the future from Shogakukan Shueisha Productions and Whisky Miu."

When it comes to Araki, most people think of the famous collaboration photo book with Miyazawa Rie, "Santa Fe", which became a social phenomenon. However, this photo book is from much earlier. It is likely that only photography enthusiasts know about this one. But this photo would be too luxurious to adorn a whiskey label. Beyond the "Valley of Evil" lies the "Valley of Death", and beyond that is "Darwin's Sea". This is a drink recommended for those in the "valley" of their long lives.

Manga label whiskies. The Kingdom of Qin's general label whisky is Glenrothes 12 year, 2007. It is slightly more expensive compared to similar products. In the movie, the whisky with the label of "Yang Duanhe" played by Masami Nagasawa is a 28-year-old Speyside whisky. Despite being 28 years old, it lacks a mature taste. It has a youthful flavor and a strong taste. It may be a matter of personal preference. Both were served in 45ml portions. It may have been better to serve in 30ml portions to avoid feeling like it was too little.

I took photos of the introduction of the Toyo 496 Tap Marche. They served me sake in a wine glass instead of the usual thin glass, which is more like a standing drinking glass for "mokkiri" sake. It was difficult for me to take a good photo of the thin glass. When they filled it up to the brim, it was heavy and hard to balance when holding it. I would like a TEKU glass and smaller sizes for craft beer. Switching from Triazenama to craft beer requires effort and research.

Wearing just one mask and calling yourself "Kamen Rider" is only acceptable for children. These are the words of Yuriko-sensei from the show "Denpa Ningen Tackle". Whiskymew is a whiskey with a manga label pasted on it. In stylish bars, it might be considered cool to order a Grasshopper cocktail. Remember to never drink and drive. While the Cyclone can be operated on autopilot, there may be times when manual driving is necessary.

The whisky with a label of Grendizer is said to be from a famous distillery starting with the letter 'A' in the southern part of Islay. It may have an unbelievable price for a 4-year-old bottler's whisky, but for passionate fans of a certain whisky, it is a must-try whisky. It can be difficult to judge, but personally, I think it offers a satisfying deliciousness.

This is a place where you can drink high-priced whiskies with manga labels. Prices range from around 2000 yen for a shot to 5000 yen, with some whiskies costing around 8000 yen. If you want to try the Hokuto brothers' whisky, it will likely exceed 30,000 yen. The whiskies have proper aged spirits, but the manga labels make them more expensive. They have whiskies featuring characters from the Showa era, the high economic growth period, "Giant of the Stars," "Tomorrow's Joe," and "Devilman." They also have whiskies with characters like Doronjo from "Yatterman," Mach GoGoGo, and Kamen Rider 1 and 2. The target audience is probably in their 50s to 60s. The bartenders are younger and may not be familiar with these manga and anime from that era. If fans of these series come, they might end up feeling disappointed. The bartenders recommend reselling unopened bottles after a month.

I was hesitating whether to post it or not, but I decided to post it. I visited a bar in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture, where I used to go regularly. It is a local bar with a limited selection of drinks, just like any other typical bar you can find in any town. The bartender, who is also the owner, is very friendly and focuses on serving the regular customers, creating a cozy atmosphere similar to a snack bar without karaoke. The name of this bar was "charllote", named after a port in Islay, which is also the name of a whisky called "portcharlotte". The bar has since been taken over and renamed "SOLT". They have pub mirrors of "ardbeg" and "glenmorangie" hanging on the wall. Due to a period of financial difficulty, they had to think about revamping the business. Nowadays, having a solid theme and concept is essential when starting a bar. A recommended whisky, known as the house whisky, is also necessary. Instead of catering to individual customer preferences, the bar needs to have its own unique identity. Since the pub mirrors feature "ardbeg" and "glenmorangie", the owner decided to focus on "ardbeg" as the main whisky of the bar. They have a variety of ardbeg whiskies, and the prices are slightly cheaper than usual. When I visited after a long time, I found a whisky placed on an "ARDBEG EMBASSY 2020" coaster. It is the second ARDBEG EMBASSY in Takatsuki City, following "Bar Islay".

The fruit cocktails are fantastic and reasonably priced, with a cozy atmosphere. They now have kinkan (kumquat) in the cocktails. I wanted to order the kinkan one, but I love grapes so I started with the muscat one. The muscat cocktail has a sherbet-like texture and a lovely aroma. The peach cocktail has peach chunks that spread in your mouth. Both are delicious! I also ordered cheese as a snack, and the total bill was 2000 yen. It's a recommended bar with high satisfaction and reasonable prices.

Visit in October 2019, posted on October 12th (all information is from the time of the visit) - Night out for drinks with a friend, second bar of the night. My friend requested to go to this bar, where candle flames flickered on the tables, creating a very moody atmosphere. The shadows cast by the flames reminded me of the rising sun flag, which was quite unromantic to think about. - Fresh fig cocktail for me and a red tea cocktail for my friend. Cute, isn't it? - Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Extremely Rare, with exotic floral and fruit aromas, a warm smoky aroma, and rich depth from being aged in top-quality bourbon barrels and finished in selected sherry casks for over two years. It has a rich mature aroma and intense flavor, with hints of papaya and other exotic fruits. It is easy to drink with its sweet aroma and taste, unlike the peaty taste often associated with Scotch. - Maker's Mark highball for me and a ginger highball for my friend. On the way back from a dinner party, I received a Line message from a friend I hadn't seen in a while, so I decided to have a drink on the way home. I went to a bar that I had been wanting to visit for a while. It's located near Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station, right at the entrance of a shopping street. The bar is on the 3rd floor of a building, and they have table and counter seats. I sat at the counter and ordered a fig cocktail. It was a sweet cocktail with the texture of figs still present, and it was delicious. The bar specializes in cocktails made with seasonal fruits, and on that day, they had peach, muscat grapes, ginger, apple, banana, kiwi, mint, American cherry, mandarin orange, and blueberry available for order. I wanted to try them all, but I got caught up in conversation with my friend and before I knew it, it was late at night, so I only had one drink and called it a night. The staff were friendly and I think it's a bar where women can feel comfortable going alone. I definitely want to go back soon. It's a wonderful bar that I almost don't want to share with others.

Visited for the first time with a fun friend's recommendation! Located on the 3rd floor of a building just to the left after entering the shopping street from Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station. When I opened the door, I found a nice bar atmosphere. I tried a cocktail made with fresh ginger as the base, similar to a Moscow Mule. The punch of the ginger was amazing! And the sweetness of honey added a nice touch. Knock knock, ohhh! My friend's fig cocktail was also delicious! I will definitely visit again! In fact, I went back before posting this review (laughs). This time, I visited BAR SOLT, a shot bar located near the east entrance of Takatsuki Center Street, close to Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station. The bar is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Operating hours are from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am, with irregular holidays. There is a cover charge of ¥300. They offer cocktails with fresh fruits. The interior has an authentic atmosphere with around 8 seats at the counter and about 12 seats at 3 tables. There were two male bartenders, one of them possibly with a two-block hairstyle. Both were sharp and gave off a bit of a lucky vibe. - Hibiki Non-Age: A whisky embodying the concept of Hibiki, created with the essence of Japan's four seasons, Japanese sensibility, and the craftsmanship of Japan. It is a versatile product that can be enjoyed in various ways like highball, offering a soft yet deep flavor. It is a premium product created without focusing on aging years but using a variety of base spirits and craftsmanship cultivated in the history of Suntory whisky making. It features a fragrant aroma and a soft, deep taste. - Muscat Frozen Cocktail: A frozen cocktail made with fruits, served in a stylish glass that resembles a colorful flower. It has a refreshing sweetness, making it a good palate cleanser between whiskies. - Maker's Mark Private Select Brutus: A whisky created through the Maker's Mark Private Select Program, where companies or organizations can select their preferred combination of "Inner Staves" used in Maker's Mark 46 for aging and purchase a barrel. It offers a solid drinking experience with a strong sweetness. The total bill was around ¥3300.
