Mikutama
Tempura was the second stop. I heard that there is a bar in Higashi-Shinsaibashi where you can enjoy karaoke with live band performances, so I decided to check it out. The location is along Kasaya-cho Street in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, between Yahata and Mitsudera. Next to it, you can find Betty Mayo, Shishiou, and Kago Me, which recently relocated across the street. There were anniversary flowers at the entrance, celebrating their first year in business. The entrance on the first floor leads to the second floor where the stage is located. There are more than 30 high-chair table seats, but it was already packed and lively around 9 pm. The VIP seats at the back of the stage also started filling up. As for food and drinks, they offer a variety of beer, shochu, whiskey, wine, and cocktails, along with some light snacks. Since it was my second stop, I only ordered a mix of nuts for 350 yen and raised a toast. I immediately requested a song from our songstress who performed at a live show recently. You can reserve a song using a regular denmoku at the karaoke, and the band members will play any song flawlessly. The young trio on guitar, bass, and drums impressed with their performances of modern and popular songs. However, when our group of fifty-somethings requested a Nobuyuki Tsujii intro, they struggled a bit but quickly adjusted. They even matched the key during the interlude and got everyone pumped up by the end. There was a guy next to us who was high-fiving everyone on his way back, thinking he was tough. Well, it was a lot of fun! It's better to have a larger group for a more enjoyable experience than being the only group there. With five people, it cost 16,000 yen for an hour, which is 3,200 yen per person. With all the wine and one 8 cups of oolong tea I had, it was a cheap and enjoyable evening. Thank you for the great time!
