I visited "Men Shokudo Gorimatsu" in Suita, Osaka for lunch for the first time. The restaurant is located in front of Hankyu Senri Line's "Kandaimae Station". I visited with my second son by car, and used the parking lot in the commercial facility with Daiso in front of it. We entered the restaurant around 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon. Although the store information on Tabelog stated that the business hours are from 13:00, they actually open from 11:30. The restaurant has only 9 counter seats, and there were 2 groups of customers (5 people in total) when we arrived. We purchased food tickets worth a total of 1,400 yen from the ticket machine. We ordered: - Tonkotsu Ramen x 2 (600 yen each) - Flavored Egg x 2 (100 yen each) The food was served after about 8 minutes. The Tonkotsu Ramen had a salty tonkotsu soup with thin straight noodles. The toppings included chewy chashu, green onions, and flavored eggs. Since the flavored eggs were 1.5 eggs, I assume they are usually served with half an egg. There were no menu photos or announcements, so it would be helpful if they informed customers about this when collecting the food tickets. I added red pickled ginger from the condiment stand. I ordered the noodles firm (recommended), and requested the free noodle refill to be firm as well. Despite my preference for salty flavors, I still found the dish quite salty.

Close to Sekidai-mae Station. I stopped by here today. The shop is a vinyl sheet type and has a bit of a street stall feel. The main options are either ramen or char siu noodles, with minimal side dishes. I bought a meal ticket from the ticket machine and sat at a random seat. I tried the regular ramen (600 yen)! The soup is milky white with a low viscosity, relatively light in flavor. The noodles are thin and perfectly cooked. They offer free extra noodles and come with an egg, so it's quite cost-effective. Overall, it was a satisfying meal! There are many shops around the station due to the presence of Kansai University, so you can find places with generous portions for the price.

I visited a ramen shop right in front of Seki University Mae Station late on a weekday night. I ordered the standard menu item, tonkotsu ramen with firm noodles. Despite being tonkotsu ramen, it had a light flavor and the noodles were delicious. Priced at 500 yen, the taste was impressive and the fact that they were open late made me really like it. If I ever crave tonkotsu ramen again near the last train, I would definitely stop by again.

2019 Ramen Showdown ~ Part 22 This time, there are many articles about relatively recently opened restaurants. Here are 30 restaurants including some from "Lunch Passport Kobe Edition." Of course, all of these restaurants are making their first appearance on this blog. From the fierce battlefield of Sekaidai-Mae, we have the "Oil Soba Specialty Shop, Kashiken Sekaidai-Mae Station Store." Following that, we have the recently opened "Men Shokudo Gorimatsu" in Suita City, Osaka. With this addition, there are now 16 ramen shops in Sekaidai-Mae. The pork bone ramen costs 500 yen. *Summary: Evolution of Ramen Shops in Sekaidai-Mae*

Ramen (Tonkotsu + Shoyu Salt 650 yen) ★★★☆ The soup is a tonkotsu-based shoyu salt flavor. The noodles are slightly wavy thin straight noodles. The toppings include sliced pork chashu, green onions, chopped onions, and a boiled egg. This shop opened on January 7 in the location of the former "Abura Soba specialty shop Kashiken Sekidai-mae Station shop" in front of Kandai. The soup is made from tonkotsu with a moderate amount of oil, and has a rounded sweetness with no unpleasant pork bone flavor, resulting in a light and flavorful taste. The noodles are made with special large noodles, providing a firm texture and a refreshing mouthfeel. The large and thick chashu slice is delicious with a tender and well-seasoned taste. They are currently offering ramen for 500 yen as a grand opening special. (The chashu is recommended) 2019.01.12 Men Shokudo Gorimatsu [Main Menu] Ramen: 650 yen Extra noodles: +100 yen Source: http://toyotune.blog107.fc2.com/blog-entry-4233.html

Noodle Shop Gorimatsu (near Kandai-mae) [Fresh Pork Bone Ramen] ¥500 (Special Opening Price) ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ Genre: Ramen Soup: Pork Bone / Noodles: Thin Straight This is a new shop that opened on January 7th, and I visited it right away! The location is where the oil ramen specialty shop Kashiken Kandai-mae Station used to be. In addition to the noodle menu, there is an option for extra noodles (+¥100), but I ordered the default option here. It is being offered at a special opening price of ¥500, and the period is about 1 month (planned), with the price after that still undecided. [Soup] The soup is based on pork bone with a soy sauce flavor and a moderate amount of oil. It has a slightly rich taste but is not greasy, with a thick body that is smooth and has a medium to high viscosity. Made from pork head bones and aromatic vegetables, the white soup has no pork bone odor, vegetable bitterness, etc., only a milky umami taste that is well balanced with a sharp seasoning, making it very delicious! Soup finished! [Noodles] The noodles are thin straight noodles. They have a slightly high water content, a smooth noodle surface, a good throat feel, and a chewy texture with a supple firmness. They go well with the rich soup and can be enjoyed together, making it delicious! [Chashu] The chashu is a large piece of pork belly. It has a crispy outer texture as an accent, and a moist and tender texture inside. It is seasoned with a medium sauce, and the savory aroma of the seared surface and the sweetness of the fat are well felt, making it very delicious! [Egg] The boiled egg comes with a half egg by default, and it is soft-boiled. The seasoning is medium, and the rich taste of the soft yolk and the slightly sweet sauce are well soaked, making it delicious! [Other toppings] Other toppings include green onions and onions. You can also enjoy flavor changes with red pickled ginger, shichimi spice, and pepper on the table. [Interior] The interior has 8 counter seats. It is a remnant of the Kashiken era, with a transparent side curtain giving it a street stall atmosphere. The owner operates the shop alone, but the operation is efficient, and with thin noodles, the service is very speedy. After the meal, I had a chat with the owner! The price of ¥500 is because "I want as many people as possible to try it first," and there is no overt advertising, and peak hours from 11:00 to 13:00 are not open, probably because of the risk of insufficient preparation and service due to being a one-man operation! When things settle down, they plan to expand the menu with side dishes. The owner is a bright, cheerful, and friendly person, and I thought this would be a shop I would want to visit all the time if I were a student at Kandai (Oh...I'm over the age limit)! In recent years, this area has become a fierce battleground for ramen, and there are currently no straight-up pork bone ramen shops like this, so it would be great if it becomes popular from here (^^) Thank you for the meal! [2019, 14th bowl/14th shop] Address: 1-6-17 Senriyama Higashi, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture TEL: Only the owner's mobile phone is available for inquiries, so the number is not disclosed Business hours: Around 13:00-15:00 / 17:30-22:00 (Until soup runs out) Regular holiday: Irregular Nearest station: Kandai-mae Visit date: January 10, 2019, evening

I visited "Menya Gorimatsu," which opened on January 7th, based on information from a weekend ramen blog. The nearest station is Hankyu Kandai-mae Station, and the restaurant is located at the former site of "Abura Soba Specialty Shop Kashiken Kandai-mae Station." The menu includes "Fresh Tonkotsu Ramen - 650 yen" and "Extra Noodles - +100 yen." The tonkotsu broth has a slight thickness and a mild pork bone flavor without any unpleasant smell or aftertaste. It has a gentle sweetness and richness from the round soy sauce base, resulting in a light and creamy tonkotsu soy sauce soup. The straight thin noodles have a good texture and moderate firmness. The chashu pork is tender and well-seasoned, offering a flavorful taste. Additionally, you can adjust the flavor using the red pickled ginger, shichimi pepper, and black pepper on the table. As part of the grand opening celebration, ramen is being offered for 500 yen for the first month.

I stopped by for a meal after drinking a lot. They offered a free extra serving of noodles, so I gladly accepted. I chose to have the noodles cooked firm, and it was recommended.

Ramen shop near Hankyu Sekimae Station. The exterior looks like a prefab building, and inside there is only a counter. The service was friendly. I ordered the Chashu Pork Ramen for 800 yen. It operates on a ticket system. The ramen had thick slices of pork, and free noodle refills were available. However, the soup was quite salty, making it difficult to eat.

It was a nostalgic tonkotsu ramen from Kyushu. The soup has a good mouthfeel and no unpleasant smell. It goes well with rice, so I recommend trying the ramen rice dish that I enjoyed in Hakata!
