After work, I visited the highly-rated izakaya "Shun no Sachi Shin" in Kitasenri. I tried various dishes to confirm the reasons for the high ratings (some are shown in the photos). To be honest, all the dishes were just average and lacked something special. The sashimi was nothing exceptional. Despite the high prices, I couldn't feel satisfied, so personally, I have to lower my rating. However, the sukiyaki had good value for money. Since there are few izakayas near Kitasenri Station, I think this place has gained relatively good reputation due to that. The interior is small but clean and pleasant. A popular counter-style restaurant located just inside the Kita-Senri Rotary. The evening hours start at 5 pm, but it fills up quickly, so it's better to make a reservation. You can choose dishes from the large bowls lined up at the counter, and there are also recommended menu items. Despite many local regulars, first-timers will feel comfortable. The dashimaki (rolled omelette) is excellent, and it's a signature dish that almost all customers order. The potato salad is also delicious.

A Japanese restaurant near Hankyu Kitasenri Station. It is located in a complex part of a building, making it difficult to find without knowing the location. The service is very friendly, and they provide cloth hand towels. This time, I ordered the daily sukiyaki set meal for 800 yen. The amount of beef was small, but there were plenty of other ingredients, and it also came with a raw egg, so it wasn't bad.

The taste is definitely delicious and I always looked forward to going. However, one time when I entered without knowing it was reserved, the way the staff treated me was poor. The feeling of being unwelcome has stayed with me since then, and I haven't been back. It's a shame, I think.

I was thinking of going to Mister Donut, but I wanted something more traditional! So, I casually stopped by Shun no Sachi next to Hankyu Kitasenri Station. The restaurant has a small counter with 7-8 seats and one table for 4-6 people. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter. Next to me was an elegant elderly lady, perhaps a local? I was looking at the menu when she said, "Today's special is a hotpot set meal." I decided to go with that. Soon, the food arrived! It was piping hot and looked delicious. First, I tried the soup. It had a rich and comforting flavor. I couldn't help but devour the meal quickly because I was so hungry. It was delicious! If asked about its characteristics, I would say it had a comforting taste with a well-flavored broth. The menu on the chalkboard had many tempting dishes, so I would like to visit again in the evening. Thank you for the meal!
