On a Sunday when I had a hearty breakfast, I had a late lunch at Tapcilog. I felt like having something light, so I ordered Goya stir-fry with rice, Pork Adobo with rice, each for 540 yen. It's rice with side dishes. The portions of the side dishes are small, but the rice is satisfying. It's like a home-cooked meal, but with fewer side dishes. For dessert, I had Halo-halo for 540 yen. It seems like shaved ice is popular these days with long lines, but I recommend trying Halo-halo without the wait. Today, I asked the staff about the price of JINRO, and it was around 1280 yen. Buying some snacks and enjoying them with some strong-flavored Filipino food while drinking alcohol sounds like a fun time.

Having dinner alone at Tapsilog-san, a place I haven't been to in a while. Two Filipino women at the next table are enjoying cola and rice, looking happy. I'm not in the mood for a lot of food or alcohol, so I order the Papaitan beef soup and rice set (540 yen), followed by a Halo-halo for dessert (540 yen), and self-serve water. The restaurant is starting to fill up with families, friends, and children, creating a lively atmosphere. The tables feel like home with tissues, ointment, and alcohol disinfectant placed on each one. The Papaitan beef soup has a tangy flavor, possibly with mayonnaise, and is seasoned with Filipino condiments in a bold and distinct taste. The beef tripe is tender and not gamey, making it a delicious dish to pair with rice. The Halo-halo has a sweet layer at the bottom, followed by strawberry yogurt and pudding on top. Mixing it all together enhances the flavors. The air conditioning is strong, and the Wi-Fi connection is fast, making it a nice place to enjoy Halo-halo and chat, better than going to a regular café. This place is really good, after all.

I saw off my friend who drank and returned from Sumiyoshi, and I felt like eating something cold. I want to eat shaved ice. I quickly moved and it was past 10:30 PM. It was still open. I ordered a take-out shaved ice! The 540 yen shaved ice should be better than Starbucks. It's cool, milky, with a hint of Uva flavor, and sherbet. The season for eating shaved ice has begun.

Before heading to the food fair, we had a light meal. We had Pork Adobo with white rice and Beef BOPIS with white rice. The side dishes were small but the rice was satisfying. Pork Adobo had a great taste that went well with the rice. The broth was delicious! Beef BOPIS had liver and vegetables. It was a bit spicy but sharing the rice and side dishes between two people left us feeling very satisfied. It's a great option for a quick and delicious lunch. We debated having Halo-halo for dessert, but we might come back later in the afternoon when it's hotter to enjoy it on its own. Thank you for the meal!

I knew about Tapsilog's existence. Rumor has it that each dish costs 500 yen + tax, comes with rice, and there is also dessert available. They also sell Filipino ingredients. I wanted to go there but was unsure. Finally, I decided to give it a try. At the entrance, there is a cash register and Filipino ingredients are displayed like in a supermarket. There are photos of dishes on the wall. Each dish costs 500 yen + tax and comes with a plate of rice. We ordered 4 dishes for two people. A can of sour drink costs 250 yen. We ordered pork and coconut juice, spicy chicken adobo, beef steak, and a sour soup (with offal). This all came to 2700 yen for two people. The portions are small but the rice is tasty and goes well with the salty dishes. If you go alone and order one dish with rice, plus halo-halo, it will cost around 1080 yen, which seems satisfying. It would be nice to order a variety of dishes with friends and enjoy them with Jinro soju mixed with tea. They don't have sisig or lechon, but in Tokyo, Filipino cuisine is often found in pubs and the pricing can be uncertain, but this place has clear pricing. The flavors are rich and delicious! The Filipino women working there are friendly and enjoy chatting with customers. It felt like a sisterhood at the shop.
