I found out that it's a chocolate called "Breathable Chocolate" that was first produced and sold by Marushige in 2006. The most popular one is the "Breathable Chocolate Kitashinchi," which consists of almonds wrapped in mascarpone cheese cream and coated with fine cocoa powder. It has won awards at national confectionery exhibitions. Each piece is handmade by a chocolatier, which is why the sizes are uneven. The name reflects the desire for you to enjoy it while it is still fresh. I bought two types and tried the Kitashinchi one. The taste of cheese and cocoa is more dominant than the chocolate itself. The texture of the almonds is good. Overall, it's a nice chocolate treat, although I didn't feel it had a significant advantage or uniqueness. At 598 yen per bag, I might have passed, but on that day, it was 479 yen, so I decided to give the Breathable Chocolate a try.

On April 27th, Heisei 29 (Thursday), I brought a souvenir to the mini offline meeting last month. I really wanted to bring a trendy cheesecake, but all the specialty shops around Osaka Station had long lines, so I had to wander around the underground shopping area and came across this cheesecake! I was shocked by the price! I felt a bit hesitant due to being frugal, but I decided to buy something anyways! However, because I was worried about whether it was delicious or not, I asked my wife to buy one for us to try. She bought one yesterday at a nearby mall. It wasn't that I wanted to eat it first thing in the morning, but I wanted to confirm if it was delicious as soon as possible, so I cut it into eight pieces and tried it. The texture was moist and it tasted like the nostalgic cheesecake I used to enjoy. I felt a bit relieved! I had another 1/8 slice for further confirmation, and it was still delicious. It might be due to some preservatives in the cheesecake that allows for long-term storage. It did feel a bit heavy in my chest afterwards, but I was still relieved!

I found purple sweet potato chips in the sweet potato section - they seem healthy with lots of polyphenols, so I switched to purple sweet potato chips today! The location is convenient, just 10 meters from Seijo Ishii supermarket in Whity Umeda. The atmosphere is clean, and the purple sweet potato chips taste like sweet potato chips but are delicious. The flavor of purple sweet potato is a bit lacking though. The service was friendly and the cost performance was average. Thank you for the meal!

I had heard about Breath Chocolate from my family, so I decided to buy some as a souvenir. The shop was crowded, so I couldn't take a picture of the storefront. I chose one regular cocoa flavor and one limited edition flavor from the selection available outside the shop. I'm a bit of a sucker for limited edition items (laughs). Breath Chocolate is almond wrapped in mascarpone cheese cream, with cocoa powder or strawberry powder on the outside. I was curious about the name "Breath Chocolate", but it was explained on the back of the package: "The flavor of freshly made chocolate is alive". Here are my thoughts on the flavors I tried: - Cocoa Flavor: The almond coated in cheese cream and cocoa powder harmonized well, and it was delicious. - Limited Edition Strawberry Tiramisu Chocolate: Wrapped in strawberry-colored chocolate with strawberry-colored powder on the outside, this chocolate had a delightful strawberry flavor. The chocolate itself was softer compared to almonds coated in chocolate that you find in supermarkets.

I haven't visited Marushige in over six months. Furthermore, it was Friday, so everything was 10% off, making it 441 yen (including tax). A friend from Tokyo who loves Breath Chocolate said they want to buy a lot because they can't get it in Kansai. It's a reasonable price, so it might make a nice little souvenir from Osaka.

The popular "Breath Chocolate" is only available for sale at the "Marushige" stores in the Kansai region. I chose the "Breath Chocolate Kitashinchi" from the three available options, which is almond wrapped in mascarpone cheese cream and coated with cocoa powder, like tiramisu chocolate. There are many other flavors available, and you can order them online too, so I would love to try them again.

This is a wholesale candy store. It's a bit cheaper than supermarkets, and I highly recommend the Kitashinchi Chocolate Almond with Mascarpone, coated in chocolate. They also have matcha-flavored ones. This is a Marushige exclusive chocolate that is perfect for souvenirs as it comes in a paper bag. The taste is sweet with a hint of mascarpone and just the right amount of acidity, which goes well with the crispy almonds. They also have discounted snacks from other confectionery manufacturers, making it a tempting stop on the way home from shopping.

There is something interesting for a souvenir in Osaka that I want to buy, which is also high quality. I found it at Whity Umeda, located in the East Mall. It's convenient because you can drink it right away. It's useful when it's cold or snowing outside. Oh, can I pay with Paipay? That's convenient. I hope Osaka will have a 30% discount campaign too. This snack is strongly recommended by Marushige. Speaking of Osaka specialties, what are they? Dojima Roll doesn't last long. Interesting Lover, only sold in part 551, also doesn't last long. So, what's important is that it lasts long, doesn't deform, and most importantly, tastes good. A snack that meets all of these criteria has been developed! The main ingredient is coconut, which is important for texture. Man Brothers, with the sweet and sour taste of cranberries, and the stickiness of water candy, combined with pumpkin seeds, creates a wonderful taste. It's hard but not too hard, sweet but not too sweet, like a rectangular gem. It's good with coffee or tea, but I think it's best with wine or whiskey.
