I was drawn in by the artistic illustrations on the signboard and went down the stairs. Behind the door was a authentic and calming space. There were counter seats, table seats, and a very moody and adult atmosphere. It seems they have been in business for 10 years. I really like this kind of bar. It is a traditional bar run by a young master and a soft-spoken bartender in their 40s. The menu reflects this. Irish Whiskey: Jameson $7, Crested Ten $9, Redbreast 12 Year $12. Single Malt Scotch: Glenfiddich 12 Year $9, Craigellachie 12 Year $11, Glenlivet 12 Year $9, Glenlivet 18 Year $12, Glenmorangie $11, Bowmore 12 Year $10, Bowmore Enigma $10, Laphroaig 10 Year $12, Lagavulin 16 Year $15. Bourbon: Jim Beam $6, Old Crow $6, Four Roses $6, IW Harper $7, IW Harper 12 Year $12. Cocktails: Gin and Tonic $9, Gimlet $10, Mojito $11, New York $11, Sidecar $11, Alexander $11, Red Eye $8, Wine Cooler $10, and more. They have a wide variety of drinks and seem like they can accommodate any request. "I'll have the Bowmore." My young friend, as always, opted for beer. Personally, I don't understand how someone can drink beer all day without getting tired of it. Well, to each their own. The charm here is the senbei (rice crackers), which is unique. Feeling like having something sweet, I ordered the chocolate for $8. It came with fresh chocolate and jewel-like chocolate pieces, with mint leaves on the side. Oh, what a stylish chocolate! Looking at the mint leaves, I suddenly craved a cocktail. "I'll have the Mojito." This cocktail, generously using mint, is a symbol of summer. The sweet taste lingers, bringing back memories of days gone by. I'll say it again, this is a great bar. Located in Hozoji, a representative tourist spot in Osaka, it's a high-quality bar where regulars gather. I stopped by on a whim, but I'll definitely come back. Next time, with some lovely ladies. I love going out for drinks anywhere, but my favorite area in Minami is "Hozoji Yokocho." About 10 years ago, there was a big gas explosion during the demolition of Kadoza, which sadly destroyed the historical cultural buildings in Hozoji Yokocho. However, it has now been completely restored. There were concerns about whether the nostalgic atmosphere of the narrow alley could be recreated due to fire safety regulations, but the original shops have returned, maintaining the old charm. I remember that time vividly and was very happy to see the restoration. Near Hozoji Yokocho, there is a bar called "Bar Kotora." It's a cozy underground bar that I frequent the most in Hozoji Yokocho. When you go down the stylish staircase, you'll find the entrance to the bar. The interior is dimly lit, with a long counter and spacious chair seating on the left, and several sofa seats on the right. The bartender is friendly and skilled, so you can relax and enjoy your drinks. I usually start with a strawberry champagne cocktail, followed by a Bacardi White Rum Rickey with lime. The bar also serves a variety of snacks like mixed nuts and beef jerky. I then enjoy a Japanese whiskey highball and finish with a Laphroaig 10-year on the rocks. The strong peaty flavor of Laphroaig is one of my favorites. As I continue my drinking journey in Minami, I look forward to more adventures. Cheers!

Cotora is located next to Yakiniku Torachan, so the name of the restaurant is Cotora. It's easy to understand and has a nice vibe. I happened to hear about it while enjoying drinks at a pleasant bar in Una Valley in Shinsaibashi, so I decided to visit based on the recommendation from the bartender. It was a great choice. Recommendations from fellow industry professionals never disappoint. The stairs are a bit steep and there are some steps inside the restaurant that might be a concern, but other than that, everything is to my liking. The standard cocktails are well-made as expected. The alcohol selection is also well-curated. Since most bars in the area are small, Cotora seems like a good place for post-party gatherings or waiting for something.

I finally visited this restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. The dimly lit interior has a calm atmosphere and the chairs at the counter are comfortable and sturdy. The back bar is also well-stocked. However... it was a huge disappointment!!! I think ordering a cocktail (Mojito) was a mistake... It seemed like the bartender tasted it about 5-6 times with a bar spoon while making it... When it arrived and I tried it, it was not mixed at all... There was a big pool of rum at the bottom... Maybe the spoon they kept tasting with was used to stir it too. When I asked, "Do you always work alone?" they said, "I'm alone only during the early hours. The master comes later." The atmosphere of the restaurant is not bad, so it's really disappointing. I do want to visit again, but only after that bartender from the other day improves...
