There is a shop inside Diamor that was offering discounts for a limited time! Tofu donuts for 160 yen → 130 yen Matcha donuts for 190 yen → 160 yen The matcha flavor is strong!! I like it more than the matcha donuts from a certain famous donut chain♡ It has a taste that seems gentle on the body, so I can give it to children with peace of mind. It's on sale for a limited time. Until 5/31 it seems.

During my stay in Osaka, I bought some souvenirs from Kyuseifuku, a store that also has branches in Chiba. Although it may seem strange to call it an "Osaka souvenir," this store offers a variety of delicious items that always catch my eye. Despite not being a well-known company, Kyuseifuku has a knack for selecting charming products. On this day, I purchased two items, both of which lived up to my expectations in terms of taste and value. The portion sizes were just right. The first item was the "Crispy Chicken Meatball Carpaccio with Cartilage" from Yamagata-based Hamayoka Ham, which was founded in 1942 and has 55 employees according to their website. It was a thoughtful and enjoyable snack. The second item was the "Sweet Shrimp Rice Cracker" from Hokuriku Seika in Kanazawa, which uses sweet shrimp from the Sea of Japan and Noto salt. Established 100 years ago, the company specializes in creating confectionery products that highlight local ingredients such as blackthroat sea perch, snow crab, and Gorojima sweet potatoes. While it might be best to buy these items when visiting Yamagata or Kanazawa, the convenience of being able to purchase them at any Kyuseifuku store is hard to resist. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Osaka.

Casually strolling around, I passed by Kyuseifuku Shoten Dear Mall Osaka store and discovered "Tofu Donuts" for 100 yen! There were only four left, so I decided to get them all. One lemon flavor and three strawberry flavors. I wanted to try the matcha flavor too, but oh well. These donuts are made from silky tofu from Shinshu. Normally they cost 180 yen, so getting them for 100 yen was a great deal. I'll enjoy them at home with some hot tea. I chose the strawberry flavor, and it was moist with a gentle taste. Delicious! I could have these every day. I look forward to trying the matcha flavor next time. Satisfied. Thank you for the meal. February 2018

I have such poor memory when it comes to learning... I bought tofu donuts and somehow felt like I had bought them before. I completely forgot whether they were delicious or not last time. I ended up buying them again... Matcha flavor is new to me, so that's okay, but I wanted to try a different flavor this time. I love mitarashi dango, so I couldn't resist buying them, but I was planning to try something else next time! Maybe matcha flavor was the winner after all? I thought I should have gone for the strawberry flavor next to it. But I wonder if I'll end up buying mitarashi flavor again? (*^^*)

I visited Kyusei Fukushoten at Diamor Osaka as they seemed to be selling soft serve ice cream. They offer tofu donuts for takeout as well, but I stuck to my original plan and got the soft serve ice cream. The soft serve ice cream here is made with 100% Shinshu Kurohime Highland Milk, which is exclusive to this store in Diamor Osaka. The lineup includes the plain Shinshu Kurohime Highland Milk soft serve (¥280 tax included), chocolate sauce topping with lots of cocoa (¥330 tax included), and their own fully ripened blueberry compote topping (¥330 tax included). The base is the milk soft serve, and for an additional ¥50, you can add chocolate sauce or blueberry compote as a topping. The soft serve ice cream is only available in a cup here. I ordered the blueberry compote topping type, and it had a pure white milk soft serve with a vivid purple blueberry compote generously drizzled on top. When I took a bite of the soft serve ice cream, it was delicious with a pure milk flavor. It was rich in milk flavor but had a refreshing sweetness and richness, making it easy to eat with hardly any milk odor. The refreshing aftertaste and smooth texture would make it a great dessert after a meal. The blueberry compote was surprisingly not too sour but very easy to eat. It had a natural fruit-like sweetness without the typical sugary sweetness of compote, which was great. When I ate the milk soft serve and compote together, the richness of the milk and the freshness of the blueberry overlapped, creating a different deliciousness than when eaten separately. The soft serve ice cream here might not satisfy those who prefer buttery and rich flavors, but it seems to be generally well-received. There was no seating area, so I ended up eating standing by the side of the store, wishing there were chairs available. The atmosphere was relatively calm without being crowded, allowing me to enjoy my treat while admiring the interior of the store.

I love donuts. When I passed by the donut stand at Umeda Burg 7 before watching a movie, I bought 16 donuts in total. They had all varieties available, and the total cost was 160 yen including tax. It was around 6:30 pm on a weekday, and they had sold out of about 3 types, so I got the remaining 8 flavors. The donuts were light and similar to soy milk donuts I often have in Kyoto, rather than the heavier flour-based donuts. It was a bit hot that day, so the coated ones were slightly melted, but they were still delicious. There was no seating area for eating in. They also sold ice cream, but I preferred to take the donuts to go instead of eating while walking around Diamor.

On August 3, I took the subway on the Tanimachi Line and got off at Higashi-Umeda Station for my first Umeda lunch in a week at "Osaka Marubiru" on the 2nd basement floor restaurant area, where I enjoyed the "Whole Tomato Tom Yum Pak Chi Sundub." As I was heading back to Higashi-Umeda Station through the underground mall, I came across the "Kyuseifuku Shoten Dear Mall Osaka Store," a shop known for delicious items from all over Japan. I have visited their "Namba Parks Store" several times before starting to use Tabelog, and I recently purchased my favorite delicacy, "Mentaiko Tamago Gani," at their "Expo City Store." This time, I decided to take out some items, all tax-inclusive: Tofu Donuts - 4 pieces (Plain 130 yen, Lemon 160 yen, Yame Matcha 160 yen, Bitter Chocolate 160 yen). I was also tempted by the "Milk Soft Serve" made with Shinshu Kurohime Highland milk, but I thought it might be a bit embarrassing to eat while walking around the crowded Umeda underground mall, so I chose the "Tofu Donuts" that I could take home. The "Tofu Donuts" made at the "Kyuseifuku Snack Factory" in Nagano's Shinano-cho are made by hand-crushing tofu, mixing it with specialized flour and eggs, kneading the dough with just the moisture from the tofu, shaping it, and deep-frying it in oil for 3 minutes. When I got home, I immediately enjoyed 2 pieces, and the remaining 2 pieces late at night after returning from work. The "Plain" donut has a light and chewy texture, moist and soft, with a delicate tofu flavor and a gentle sweetness that is very delicious. The "Lemon" donut is coated with a refreshing lemon flavor, while the "Yame Matcha" is coated with high-quality matcha chocolate from Yame City, Fukuoka. The "Bitter Chocolate" donut has a rich flavor, and unlike regular donuts, the light taste is quite enjoyable. Bon appétit!

I purchased Adult Salmon Mentaiko for 590 yen (excluding tax), Large Leaf Sauce for 750 yen (excluding tax), and Fruit Jelly in Shine Muscat & Kyoho flavor for 430 yen (excluding tax). The Salmon Mentaiko pasta with Mentaiko sauce on top was incredibly delicious! It was also tasty when eaten as ochazuke. The Large Leaf Sauce was also delicious when poured over pasta. The Fruit Jelly had a strong flavor!
