On August 3, I took the subway on the Tanimachi Line and got off at Higashi-Umeda Station for my first Umeda lunch in a week at "Osaka Marubiru" on the 2nd basement floor restaurant area, where I enjoyed the "Whole Tomato Tom Yum Pak Chi Sundub." As I was heading back to Higashi-Umeda Station through the underground mall, I came across the "Kyuseifuku Shoten Dear Mall Osaka Store," a shop known for delicious items from all over Japan. I have visited their "Namba Parks Store" several times before starting to use Tabelog, and I recently purchased my favorite delicacy, "Mentaiko Tamago Gani," at their "Expo City Store." This time, I decided to take out some items, all tax-inclusive: Tofu Donuts - 4 pieces (Plain 130 yen, Lemon 160 yen, Yame Matcha 160 yen, Bitter Chocolate 160 yen). I was also tempted by the "Milk Soft Serve" made with Shinshu Kurohime Highland milk, but I thought it might be a bit embarrassing to eat while walking around the crowded Umeda underground mall, so I chose the "Tofu Donuts" that I could take home. The "Tofu Donuts" made at the "Kyuseifuku Snack Factory" in Nagano's Shinano-cho are made by hand-crushing tofu, mixing it with specialized flour and eggs, kneading the dough with just the moisture from the tofu, shaping it, and deep-frying it in oil for 3 minutes. When I got home, I immediately enjoyed 2 pieces, and the remaining 2 pieces late at night after returning from work. The "Plain" donut has a light and chewy texture, moist and soft, with a delicate tofu flavor and a gentle sweetness that is very delicious. The "Lemon" donut is coated with a refreshing lemon flavor, while the "Yame Matcha" is coated with high-quality matcha chocolate from Yame City, Fukuoka. The "Bitter Chocolate" donut has a rich flavor, and unlike regular donuts, the light taste is quite enjoyable. Bon appétit!
