Tickets were torn and we went up to the second floor. The show hasn't started yet, so we have to wait. There is a souvenir shop where various souvenirs from the Kansai region are displayed, not just Yoshimoto's goods. My companion likes these things, so I left it to them to buy something without hurting my wallet too much. I got Sutchie's candy and Kobe pudding. Is the one that Sutchie throws? The face on the package looks scary, haha. The mixed juice flavor is very Kansai-like. The Kobe pudding is just delicious. I like firm pudding, so this one is good.

I had always heard good things about Nikusui on TV and wanted to try it, so I visited during my trip to Osaka. The broth is delicious with a strong flavor! I know I'll get thirsty later, but I can't help but drink the broth! It would be great with extra green onions. And it pairs perfectly with egg over rice. I definitely want to come back to eat here again.

Every year, I watch Yoshimoto performances somewhere, but it had been a while since I visited Namba Kagetsu. When I went to buy tickets quickly, only standing room was available (tears). It shows how popular it is, but standing for over 2 and a half hours was tough. It was a bus tour during free time, so I couldn't make a reservation because I couldn't confirm the return time... The evening show was also sold out, so it seems like you have to book well in advance to get tickets. I bought two castella cakes and some candy. These castella cakes are sold in many stores, so you don't necessarily have to buy them in the crowded area after the show (^_^;)

In early October 2018, we went on a honeymoon trip to Kagawa and Osaka, and on the second day, due to the typhoon, we had to give up on seeing the whirlpools and decided to visit Namba in Osaka instead. I had secretly booked tickets for a performance at Namba Grand Kagetsu called "Namba Grand Kagetsu" a week before the trip, and surprised everyone with the announcement when we left our accommodation. We watched various comedy acts and the famous Yoshimoto New Comedy show, which was filled with laughter and tears. After the show, we visited the Yoshimoto souvenir alley and bought some sauces as souvenirs. The curry sauce we bought was so delicious that we ended up ordering more online. The sauces from Osaka really have a unique flavor and richness to them. Overall, it was a fun experience enjoying comedy and shopping in a great atmosphere.

If you like Yoshimoto New Comedy, you will understand when you see it. The taste is ordinary, but it is fun to compare it with illustrations and castella while eating. The youngest leader, Aichan, is funny!!

Today, on the last Sunday of summer vacation, I went to Namba Grand Kagetsu with my family. Even though I was born and raised in Osaka, it was my first time watching a comedy show or Shin-Kigeki at a theater. We lined up early in the morning, but only standing room was left, which was disappointing. The third show was a private booking, what's that about? Maybe I should book it with my financial power! We decided to watch the early show standing. We found a spot on the stairs where the kids could sit. My wife and I stood for 2 and a half hours, but it was worth it. Osaka's famous mixed juice, King Kong, High Heel, Kimura Yuichi's photography, Tea Up, Daisuke Hanako, Kaosubutton, and the New Comedy "Toilet's Stuchiko-san" were all hilarious. Stuchiko was the best! We laughed so much and enjoyed all the food. It was so much fun! Laughed and laughed. Thank you for a great time!

I happened to go to the second floor of Namba Grand Kagetsu to use the restroom, and there were lots of souvenirs for sale, so I couldn't help but browse. I was drawn to a nice smell, and when I got closer, I saw manju (sweet bun) in the shape of Yoshimoto comedians! I love castella so I ended up buying some as souvenirs. It's a great souvenir to get when you visit Yoshimoto. When I went downstairs, I saw Mist Man!!! The comedian Ramune Oka was drawing Goku, and he was really good at it. When you come to Osaka, you must see Yoshimoto New Comedy! I finally saw it for the first time in my life. The ticket was 4700 yen, quite expensive, almost three times the price of a movie ticket. It's clearly targeting tourists. The performances were okay, some were good, some were just average. The souvenir corner on the first and second floors was interesting, I bought the famous funny "lovers" as a souvenir. Overall, it was a good experience to see Yoshimoto New Comedy live.

Comedy in Tokyo and Kansai is quite different. I watched a performance called "Cheers to Otaku" on this day. Two oddly long-haired part-timers working at a liquor store. Suddenly, a girl who is an idol returns. Chaos ensues from there. Why do these two have such long hair? They use this as a joke to try to get laughs from the audience. I couldn't understand this at all. It's probably due to regional differences. This is the first time I've seen this kind of comedy, so it can't be helped. There must be people who find it funny since so many gather. The Yoshimoto New Comedy is basically performed here every day. There are 2 performances on weekdays and 3-4 performances on weekends and holidays. 15 minutes before the start time, there is a performance by unknown young comedians. Then, there are skits by Nakata Cuffs, Buttons, and others. And then the main Yoshimoto New Comedy. The theater has about 900 reserved seats, making it one of the largest comedy theaters in Japan. It's now one of the highlights of the Osaka tourist route, attracting even foreign visitors. With an attendance of over 1 million people a year, it's the largest theater for Yoshimoto Entertainment. However, the long line before the show is incredible. We had reservations, but many people were seeking same-day tickets. We hoped it would be that funny. Yesterday's rakugo had some slight discomfort, but we were captivated by the passionate performance. In comparison... Now, you can eat and drink during the performance here. However, the bento boxes were already sold out. So, we bought the "Yoshimoto New Comedy Doll-shaped Castella" as a souvenir. It's a confectionery resembling castella imitating famous comedians. It's not authentic castella, so the taste of eggs is weak. It must be a lucky charm souvenir. It's 800 yen for a box of 16. I couldn't find familiar comedians like Kiyoshi Nishikawa, Tomiizumi Masahira, or Kanpei Ma.

On September 24th (Saturday), my wife and I participated in a workplace-related recreation activity "Yoshimoto Shin-Kigeki and Namba Trip Day Trip" and enjoyed the 12:45 pm performance at "Namba Grand Kagetsu". Famous comedians in costume were spreading cheer in front of the Namba Grand Kagetsu Theater. Before the show, the tour guide handed us the "Namba Grand Kagetsu Bento and Tea" for 1,350 yen (including tax). And now, the show begins. First, the opening by the opening comedians, followed by a lively atmosphere building up in the theater. We enjoyed the comedy duo of Daisuke and Hanako, and the rakugo storytelling by Jintsuru for 80 minutes before the start of "Yoshimoto Shin-Kigeki". Today, with the TV broadcast, Yoshimoto's Shigeo Tsujimoto, Yasue Akachi, Hanako Yamada, and others were in high spirits. The original 45-minute show turned into over 60 minutes of ad-libbed excitement. Yoshimoto is so hilarious! My wife and I laughed so hard, holding our stomachs! When was the last time we laughed this much? While enjoying the comedy, we also had the fun "Namba Grand Kagetsu Bento" with packaging featuring popular comedians' characters. Yes, while we had the bento, it was a cycle of eating, laughing, eating, laughing, and clapping. After finishing the meal, on the back of the box, there was a cut-out of Shikezo (Tsujimoto) with a mask, for playing. But be careful not to spill any liquid when flipping the box! But who really plays with it, right? By the way, bento reservations are available for Yoshimoto show participants until noon two days before the show. The bento includes simmered dishes, grilled salmon, lotus root, thick omelet, simmered vegetables with tofu, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, konjac, hamburger, fried potatoes, namasu, and rice with umeboshi. Other bento options include Yoshimoto Yose Bento for 900 yen, Yoshimoto Shin-Kigeki Bento for 1,650 yen, Yoshimoto Oowarai Bento (one tier) for 1,850 yen, and Yoshimoto Shin-Kigeki Kokekoke Bento (two tiers) for 2,350 yen. This is a gift from my older sister, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. It has a gentle, simple sweetness that I really like. Personally, it made me crave a glass of milk! It has a cute and slightly eerie charm, and there's also the fun of trying to figure out who this is! This castella cake would make a great souvenir to bring back from Yoshimoto.

This year, after a two-year hiatus, the NicoNico drift ice fixed-point camera is back! The camera is installed behind the Glass House. People are making snowmen and hanging messages on cardboard in front of the camera. My friends who pass by there gave me a souvenir. It's a famous Osaka treat called "Interesting Lover." It may sound a bit silly, but it's really delicious! It has a mysterious taste that's hard to describe! It's a waffle with sweet soy sauce-flavored cream sandwiched inside. It's really tasty!

Around the first week of November 2018, there was a performance at the newly renovated Misonoza theater. I hadn't been there before, so it was a good opportunity to go. While looking at souvenirs, I came across these comedian-themed manju cakes! They looked like they could curse you if you ate them, so I just had to buy them! When I opened the bag, the individual manju cakes were all mixed up inside. It was funny to see them all jumbled together. The packaging mentioned that the characters inside were random and you might not get all of them. That's just how it goes, I guess. I couldn't resist taking them out of the bag to take a picture. Sorry! The mix of characters included Sutchan, Kawabata Yasushi, Mr. Okure, Shigetan, Suemari Yumi, and Michi Yasue. Michi Yasue was so cute, wasn't she? Well, they were all well-made no matter which way you looked at them. As for the taste, they had a strong egg flavor and were quite delicious. No curses here! I used to live in Osaka until middle school, so I grew up watching Yoshimoto New Comedy on Saturdays. It brings back so many nostalgic memories. I really need to go to Grand Kagetsu again!

The bus tour continued. We visited Namba Grand Kagetsu in Namba Sennichimae, Chuo-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, which is owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo. When we entered Namba Grand Kagetsu, we saw a new comedian who was just starting to get popular at the time, Moromizato Daisuke, and another comedian (I forgot who it was) serving as navigation comedians inside the venue. Since it was a group activity, I couldn't do anything on my own, so unfortunately, I just saw them briefly. With a special bento ticket, we received our bento and checked our seats. There was about 30 minutes until the show started. The guide told us that at Namba Grand Kagetsu, you can re-enter with your ticket. So, one of the people I was with said, "Since we've come all the way to Osaka, I want to eat takoyaki." So, before the show started, we hurriedly bought takoyaki from Takoyaki Do-Raku Wanaka Sennichimae Main Store. After enjoying the takoyaki, we had our bento. The special bento with tea included has 5 types: Yoshimoto Yose Bento for 900 yen, Namba Grand Kagetsu Bento for 1,350 yen, Yoshimoto Shinkigeki Bento for 1,650 yen, Yoshimoto Owarai Bento (One-tier) for 1,850 yen, Yoshimoto Shinkigeki Kokeshi Bento (Two-tier) for 2,350 yen. Ticket prices are separate: 1st floor seat for 4,800 yen, 2nd floor seat for 4,300 yen. The Yoshimoto Owarai Bento (One-tier) is a plastic tiered box with caricatures of Yoshimoto comedians printed on it. It's useful for storing things after eating. The bento included shumai, grilled salmon, freeze-dried tofu, simmered carrots, simmered hijiki seaweed, fried chicken wings, tamagoyaki, rice, cucumber and shibazuke seaweed rolls, and inari sushi. When the show started, the venue was almost completely dark, so we hurriedly ate our bento before it started. But we couldn't finish it all before the lights went out... In the dim light, we enjoyed watching comedians we had never seen before, as well as famous comedians performing rakugo and Yoshimoto Shinkigeki. It was quite delicious. At that time, within a few years, I watched Yoshimoto comedy shows 3-4 times, either as an invitation or by winning tickets, so I got confused about which comedian was which... In Kitakyushu City, Kokura, there was a Yoshimoto Shin-Kigeki show with the headliner being Koyabu. It was his first time live and he was quite funny. I bought some souvenirs at the time. Stiko & Yoshida Yu, Drill Baum Stick Nipples Drill! Do you know about the nipple drill stick? It's a Baum stick that looks like the stick used for nipple drilling by Stiko. It's almost 50cm long. It can be cut into pieces. It tastes normal. It's from Yoshimoto (^^). Sakai Ai, Round Chocolate Recently, Ai-chan became the headliner. Boo boo boo, I'm a human! Do you know? It contains two round chocolates. It's fun because it turns into a cup after you finish eating them. It's a bit firm and not too sweet. Just regular chocolate. It's from Yoshimoto (^^).
