New World Motsunabe Restaurant Nishi Shinsaibashi Store (America-mura) [Tantanmen] ¥780 ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ "Asa○○●○○○○kote" Soup: Seafood / Noodles: Medium Straight
This restaurant, located in Shinsekai as the name suggests, is primarily a motsunabe (tripe hot pot) establishment. They started offering tantanmen from July 1st, so I decided to visit right away! Got the Paul! The menu only offers noodles, and as a lover of boiled eggs, I was tempted to add a boiled egg (¥290), but it would have looked messy with two eggs, so I refrained this time!
[Soup] The soup is based on seafood with plenty of oil, seasoned with soy sauce. It has a rich and creamy mouthfeel with low viscosity, making it easy to drink. The oil film keeps the temperature hot, and the gentle body from the bonito and kelp dashi, combined with the rich aroma of Sichuan pepper, creates an authentic and spicy taste with a crisp saltiness that is delicious!
[Noodles] The noodles are medium straight with rounded corners, providing a good throat feel and a chewy texture with a firm core. They mix well with the soup and have a subtle wheat flavor that is delicious!
[Toppings] The toppings include pork mince, leeks, and bean sprouts. You can also adjust the flavor with salt, shichimi (Japanese seven spice), and pepper on the table.
[Interior] The restaurant has 6 tables for 6 people, 2 tables for 5 people, and a tatami area with 26 seats for a total of 60 seats. From 5 pm to 8 pm, rice is served for free with the menu. You can order just the tantanmen like I did, but they also have a variety of other dishes, so I would like to visit again for a drinking session! Thank you for the meal!
