Abura soba, regular size 820 yen Special topping set A 180 yen Located in a small alley just off the main street of Ginza. Next to it, there are other ramen shops like J○ra Ramen. After finishing some errands at the Ginza branch, on my way back, feeling a bit hungry, I was drawn to the red neon sign of "oil" naturally (^^) Inside the restaurant, there is only a long counter. There was just one seat available. You order at the ticket machine near the entrance. Regular size, large size, and double size are all the same price. I was intrigued by the popular No.1 special topping and ordered it. I handed over the ticket and waited at my seat. On the table, there were chili oil, vinegar, spicy seasoning, black pepper, and finely chopped onions. And there was a sign showing "delicious way to eat" which I studied eagerly while waiting. *The default toppings for abura soba are bamboo shoots, sliced chashu, chopped seaweed, and chopped green onions. Add A topping of sesame and half-boiled egg. Following the instructions of the restaurant, I poured in vinegar and chili oil while it was hot, added a lot of chopped onions, and mixed it all together. When I tried it... Hmm? It was quite bland. I added more vinegar, chili oil, black pepper, and spicy seasoning. Somehow it started to pack a punch. The half-boiled egg served as a good flavor enhancer. The A set was the right choice. Despite the hint of the word "oil," I finished it smoothly. The calorie content is 2/3 of ramen and the salt content is about half. It's surprisingly healthy, which you wouldn't expect from the name! It may be as written (^^) It's a matter of preference, but it would have been even better if there were unique features or chopped garlic that are unique to this shop in terms of seasoning. Bon appétit.
