On this day, I had a day trip to Osaka for business. My meeting was scheduled for 3 p.m., so I arrived in Osaka early to enjoy some food. I had lunch at Ubarasan, a noodle workshop in Uehonmachi, and my stomach was already full. But since I was already there, I decided to visit another place. Across from Ubarasan, on the other side of Osaka Uehonmachi Station (towards Shinkabukiza), is Nakatanitei, a sweets shop that is listed as one of the top 100 sweets shops. This shop is known for giving out cookies as souvenirs, and I have received them before. When I saw the name "Tei," I thought it would be a friendly, Osaka-style shop, but to my surprise, it was a trendy sweets shop! I arrived at the shop around 2 p.m. on a weekday. As I entered, the shop was divided into sections for cakes, baked goods, chocolates, and an eat-in area. I expressed my desire to eat in and started looking at the cakes. There were many chocolate-based options, so I chose a cake called Marjolaine. I wanted to try two cakes, including a chocolate one, but I was already full, so I settled for one. I also ordered iced tea. I carried my tray to the eat-in area, where there was a large table in the middle and a few smaller tables by the window and wall. Since only the large table was available, I sat there. The Marjolaine cake had crushed chocolate on the sides, ganache chocolate at the bottom, almond sponge around it, whipped cream on top, and praline cream at the bottom. The two creams were fluffy, and the milk, caramel, and chocolate flavors mixed well in my mouth. It was not too fancy but had a simple and friendly taste. I finished it quickly because it was so delicious! Next time, I want to try a chocolate cake. Thank you for the meal!
