Tucked away near Yushima Station is a hidden gem of a teppanyaki restaurant called "Casba". Located just a few seconds' walk from exit 2 of Yushima Station, the restaurant has a quiet and unassuming exterior, away from the main streets. Upon entering through the wooden doors, you'll find a cozy interior with a counter seating arrangement in a C-shape around the central teppanyaki grill. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, with the main focus being the reserved owner. The menu is straightforward, with options for an 8000 yen or 10000 yen steak course, as well as a la carte steak dishes and side dishes. Wine options range from a 4000 yen bottle of red wine to a 30000 yen bottle of cognac. During my visit, I opted for the "Chef's Choice Steak Course" priced at 8000 yen and a 4000 yen bottle of wine. The meal started with a delicious butter sautéed shimeji mushroom appetizer, followed by a refreshing salad dressed with a tangy mayonnaise. The main course was a 200g Japanese beef steak cooked to medium rare perfection with just salt and pepper seasoning. The steak was tender and flavorful, with a nice marbling of fat that added to the richness of the meat. Served with wasabi and grated soy sauce, the steak was a delight to savor. The meal also included slices of tenderloin cooked in a weldan style, as well as crispy bacon-like strips made from pressed fat. A colorful garlic rice dish with assorted vegetables and a miso soup with beef and daikon radish were served as well. The meal ended with a refreshing slice of melon. The intimate atmosphere and close interaction with the owner create a bar-like ambiance, making Casba a great choice for a quiet and sophisticated steak dining experience.

Exiting from the A2 exit of Yushima Station and walking to the right for less than a minute, you will find a beautifully maintained teppanyaki restaurant with a fan-shaped iron plate shining brightly. They offer steak courses and chef's choice courses, where you can enjoy the deliciousness of various high-quality beef. Especially the beef sushi and hand-rolled sushi surpass even the fatty tuna. The beef soup and steak are both tender and flavorful, providing a truly blissful taste experience. The garlic rice served at the end is a surprising dish that is light and refreshing, with finely chopped vegetables and accents of shiso leaves. The prices are on the higher side, but dining here will make you feel incredibly happy. You will be amazed by the skill of the energetic owner and the precision in selecting ingredients.
