You can enjoy a well-balanced lunch in a cozy atmosphere of an old Japanese house. The menu changes weekly, but the oden was really delicious! There are plenty of side dishes, so you can get a variety of items which is good for your body. Dessert is also included, and you can relax on the comfortable sofa seats after your meal.

I visited a small restaurant in Betsumaicho during a weekday afternoon. It was a bit difficult to find a day when they were open, but I finally mustered up the courage to go. The place is located off National Route 243, next to a small pharmacy called Matsukawa Yakkyoku. It may not be easy to spot as there is no obvious sign, but when they are open, they usually have a simple sign in front of the entrance. There are about two parking spaces in front of the shop and a larger space behind the shop that may also be used for parking.
I arrived around 2 pm with one other customer already there. The atmosphere inside was cozy, and the hostess warmly greeted me. The restaurant had a counter with three seats, a round table for one, and a few table seats in the back. The locals had recommended this place to me, saying that the hostess was very skilled at cooking. The lunch menu consisted of a Don5 lunch set with five or more dishes, but they also offered light meals like Napolitan, Omurice, and hot sandwiches.
I ordered the Don5 lunch set, which arrived in about 15 minutes. The colorful dishes looked appetizing. The non-fried pork cutlet was tender and juicy, and the tomato-based sauce complemented it well. The breadcrumbs were fine and crispy. The salad, Bang Bang Ji-style fried chicken, fried dish, and warabi simmered dish all had healthy and delicious flavors. After finishing the meal, I enjoyed a cup of coffee and hot pancakes.
The relaxing atmosphere and delicious food made me feel like I was spending time at a friend's house, and I didn't feel like going back to work during my lunch break. It's a great place to enjoy coffee and sweets on a holiday. The food is tasty, and they offer a variety of desserts (this month's dessert was a warm red bean soup with plenty of azuki beans). Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On June 4, 2016, I wanted to visit a cafe run by the lady of Zuifoji Temple, but unfortunately it was closed today. I was wondering where to go and ended up at "soyo," a lunch spot I occasionally visit. This is my first time posting on Tabelog. The parking lot is small, so I had to park somewhere else and walk over. The restaurant is located across from the health center, next to Hello Dental Clinic. It's a lunch spot in a renovated old house (not a trendy cafe). The tables are set up normally, giving it a feeling of visiting an old house. The lunch menu changes weekly and costs 1000 yen, including coffee and a dessert. Today's lunch was a fluffy omelette with a skillet, salad, miso soup, rice, simmered flounder, sautéed udo, pickled vegetables, coffee, and a small dessert. They also sell Tupperware products. For 1000 yen, the quality and quantity were good. The skillet is versatile in cooking. Thank you for the meal.
