I recently visited a new ramen shop called "Karamiso Abura Soba Oni ni Kanabou" located above my favorite ginger hot spring. The interior was beautifully designed with a mix of counter seating and traditional tatami seating, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. One unique feature of this shop is that you can choose the level of spiciness and numbing sensation in your ramen. I opted for a spiciness level of 3 and numbing level of 2, with additional toppings of coriander and cheese. The balance of spiciness and numbing sensation was perfect, creating a delicious and addictive flavor profile. I highly recommend ordering a side of white rice to enjoy with the remaining broth and meat at the end. The combination is simply delightful. The option of having milk on hand was also a nice touch for those who struggle with spiciness. Overall, I loved the experience and will definitely be returning for more of their flavorful ramen. Please note that the shop tends to get busy during lunch hours, so be prepared to wait a bit. But trust me, the delicious ramen is worth the wait!

After DEATH, around 1,300 yen. Went with colleagues from work. I had completed the Jolokia X challenge last time, so I got a pass to heaven and decided to take on this challenge. The smell of spices was so strong that it made me cough from the steam, and the spiciness was unlike anything I had ever eaten before. I managed to finish it, but it was covered in oil and not very tasty, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to challenge themselves with spiciness.

Carolina Reaper X 1,230 yen Met up with colleagues at the workplace and entered the restaurant. The interior is spacious, with tables well separated from each other, making it a comfortable environment with good ventilation. I challenged the Carolina Reaper X this time since I obtained a passport to hell. It was spicier than I had imagined, but I managed to finish it. Not recommended for those with plans in the afternoon.

Entered the restaurant with coworkers for lunch. Arrived at 1pm on a weekday with only about 1 person waiting ahead. Purchased food tickets and lined up. The miso minced meat topping matched well with the noodles and was delicious, making it quite cost-effective. Next time, I want to try increasing the spiciness level to 4 or higher.

This week's schedule has been tough, but finally it's Friday. There is a junior colleague at work who seems eager to go out for drinks. Since it's the weekend, it can't be helped, I have to help them unwind. Before visiting this place, I went to "Hottei-chan Shibuya Shinsen-guchi branch" and had a few drinks. The reviews for "Hottei-chan" have been piling up recently, so I decided to revisit and write a review based on my previous visit. I apologize for that. After having a few drinks, I visited "Oni Nani Kanabo" for a bowl of ramen. I arrived at 7:30 PM and after a bit of wandering, I found the restaurant behind the curtain with a staircase painted in a deep red color, hinting at spiciness, leading upstairs. The interior of the restaurant had around 6 counter seats and a few table seats in the back. In the table seats, there were a couple of foreign tourists finishing their meal and a few young women who came in later. I bought meal tickets after receiving an explanation from the staff about the toppings and spiciness levels. The menu for this visit included "Oni-giri Pakuchi Abura Soba" (spicy level 4), a set of Hoppy, and a single Hoppy drink. Despite having drunk Hoppy quite a lot before, I ended up ordering it again. The staff, however, seemed puzzled by the order of a Hoppy set and a single drink. The "Oni-giri Pakuchi Abura Soba" arrived with a generous amount of toppings, including minced meat, dried shrimp, coriander, watercress, and daikon radish. Mixing it all together, the flavor was rich with miso and sesame paste, and the spiciness level 4 I chose was just right for me. The thick and chewy noodles didn't lose their flavor, and each topping brought out its own deliciousness. The coriander and daikon radish provided a refreshing touch, resetting the palate. It was a delicious bowl of ramen. Overall, I highly recommend the "Oni-giri Pakuchi Abura Soba" for its flavorful toppings and satisfying taste. Rating: Overall: 3.8 Taste: 4.5 Service: 3.5 Atmosphere: 3.5 Value: 3.5 Drinks: 4 Thank you for the delicious ramen. I look forward to trying the ginger ramen at the branch downstairs next time!

On my recent visit, I vaguely remember being able to choose the level of spiciness and numbness. I like spicy food, so I chose a higher level, but it wasn't that spicy! The noodles were thick and chewy, with a nice texture and chewiness. I finished with a rice bowl. It was delicious, so I might revisit if I'm nearby.

I tried the Spicy Maze Soba with Level 2 spiciness. If you can handle some heat, it's quite delicious! The taste might make you crave for rice as a side dish. I'd like to try a higher level of spiciness next time! ✨

You can choose the spiciness level on a scale of 5. The noodles are thick and chewy flat noodles, with a base of nutty and sesame aroma combined with the richness of spicy oil, topped with stir-fried minced meat. Once you try it, you'll understand the harmony of noodles, soup, and ingredients. The location on the 2nd floor may be hard to find, but for those who love spicy noodles, it's highly recommended!

I ordered the spicy tantanmen Level 5 and the male staff's service was excellent. It was my first time here, and even though I like spicy food, I was unsure which level to choose. The staff recommended Level 5, which turned out to be just right for me. It wasn't too spicy, so I'm thinking of trying the Jolokia X next time. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but it's easy to enter even if you're alone, which was nice.

[Overall Impression] The numbing sensation of the sansho pepper was just right in this delicious oil soba. The meat miso had a rich and savory flavor. The smooth sauce coated the chewy thick noodles perfectly. I love mixing the leftover meat miso with rice. I chose level 3 for spiciness and numbingness, but I think a bit more spiciness would be nice! The location of the shop is a bit hard to find, but it has a nice atmosphere. [Basic Information] Date of Visit: April 15, 2023 (Saturday) 11:05 Number of People in Line: 0 Purchasing Method: Bought tickets from a touch panel ticket machine Ordered Items/Price: Onikiri Pakuchi Spicy Miso Oil Soba + Rice (Small) ¥1,030 + ¥80 Spiciness and Numbingness Level: 3 [Soup] The soup had a delicious richness like sesame paste or tonkotsu broth. It was well-balanced without any sharp flavors. I enjoyed adding vinegar halfway through for a change in taste. I'm not sure if this qualifies as soupless tantanmen, but it was tasty. [Noodles] The noodles were thick, flat noodles with a high water content. I followed the instructions and mixed them 20 times before eating. The sauce coated the noodles well, and they were chewy and delicious. [Ingredients] The dish included spicy miso, pickled mustard greens, dried shrimp, and cilantro. If I were to add a topping for 200 yen, I would have liked more cilantro. However, the spicy miso had a great savory flavor. The aroma of various spices was nice, not just the numbing sensation of the sansho pepper. The spiciness was more of a slow-building heat that came after the initial bite. [Side Menu] Since it's a soupless tantanmen-like dish, rice is a must. [Service] There were disposable paper aprons available near the ticket machine. No storage space or wall hooks were provided. For a shop serving spicy ramen, I think tissues should be placed at each table. Vinegar and chili peppers were available for seasoning. [Atmosphere] The ginger ramen shop on the first floor stood out too much, making it a bit confusing, but there was an entrance to the side. Going up the stairs, I found the shop, which only had a ticket machine and seating, with no staff. It felt like the food was prepared somewhere else and brought up by an elevator. I wonder if the kitchen is on the first floor. The background music in the shop was similar to Kanda's Onikinbou, so I wonder if there's a connection between the two. The shop's name also bears a strong resemblance. The system of choosing spiciness is similar to that of Karashibi.

About a 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station, you can see the noren curtain and stairs leading to the 2nd floor of "Nagaoka Ginger Ramen Shoganoyu". It's quite hard to find as you're walking on the street, so keep an eye out for it. It seems to be related to Shoganoyu, and when you enter, the staff will come down from the 2nd floor. You order on the 1st floor and your food will be brought down from there. I ordered the oil soba version of Onikenbo with a spice level of 4. It was definitely stimulating. The soup wasn't too hot, so I didn't feel the need for dairy products and was able to enjoy it moderately. It might be good for those seeking a bit of a kick. ・Address: 2F, 3-10-12 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo ・Reservation: Not available ・Business hours: Monday-Sunday 11:00-21:30 (21:00) ・Payment method: Cash only =======MENU======= ◆Scorching Char Siu Spicy Miso Oil Soba Eatery rating: 3.08 Actual cost: 1,130 yen Instagram ID: tam_gourmet_

I had some errands in Shibuya, so on February 24th, I went to the newly opened "Spicy Miso Oil Ramen Oni no Kanabo-san". I arrived at 11 am on a weekday and found only one person inside, so I was able to enter right away. I ordered the Spicy Miso Oil Ramen with flavored egg (980 yen) and a small bowl of rice for 80 yen. When I handed the food ticket to the staff, they asked me about the level of spiciness and numbness. I chose level 2 for spiciness and level 1 for numbness. After waiting for about 7 minutes, the ramen arrived. I followed the instructions to mix it about 20 times, but surprisingly, there was no spiciness or numbness. Maybe the miso made it milder? However, it was still delicious with a good umami flavor. When the noodles were finished, I added the rice and mixed it again. It felt a bit guilty to have rice for lunch, but the balance of minced meat and rice was excellent and tasty. Next time, I might try level 5 for spiciness and numbness. Thank you for the meal. [Restaurant Name] Spicy Miso Oil Ramen Oni no Kanabo-san [Address] 2F, 3-10-12 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo [Seats] 10 seats (6 counter seats, 4-6 tatami seats) [Business Hours] 11:00-21:30 (may change suddenly to 21:00) [Closed] New Year's holidays [Reservation] Not available

Category: [Tokyo] Ramen ☆ Shibuya Lunch Nagaoka's specialty ginger ramen. This shop is also delicious, but it's a bit hard to find... Look to the right back, do you see a small curtain? It's a separate store specializing in spicy miso oil soba, called "Oni ni Kanabou." The cooking is done on the 1st floor, and the ramen comes up in an elevator. It's a place where you can specify the level of spiciness and numbness separately, with options ranging from 1 to 5. If you choose both as 5, the energetic boy will say, "Honestly, level 5 isn't that spicy. Next time, you can order the Jolokia X. I'll make sure to prepare it perfectly, so please enjoy!" The spicy miso oil soba (spiciness 5, numbness 5) costs 830 yen, plus extra noodles for 180 yen. Indeed, the spiciness and numbness are not as surprising as expected... Is this ultimately a soup-less tantanmen? The thick, curly noodles are firm and well-balanced with the coarsely ground meat. Additionally, the dried shrimp used is thick and fragrant, adding a nice touch. If I had to mention a downside, I wish they would stop setting the price at 1010 yen if they only accept cash, and if you order the large portion for 180 yen, I would prefer to have twice the amount of noodles, not just 1.5 times. Black vinegar didn't go well with it, so I recommend enjoying it as is until the end.

On February 24th, a new specialty store for spicy miso oil ramen opened in Shibuya. It is located a 2-minute walk from Shibuya Station's south exit, or a 3-minute walk from the C1 exit of the Tokyu Line, Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, and Fukutoshin Line. The store's operating hours are from 11:00 to 21:30 (last order at 21:00), and it is open every day with no regular holidays. I mistakenly thought it was related to the famous Kanda shop "Oni no Kanabou" and visited the store around 12:30 alone. The store is located on the second floor of "Shouga no Yu," a Niigata ginger ramen shop that I have visited before. Upon entering the second floor, there is a counter and traditional tatami seating available. Orders are placed using a ticket machine, and the menu includes options such as spicy miso oil ramen, spicy miso oil ramen with flavored egg, and various other toppings. I ordered the spicy miso oil ramen with flavored egg for 980 yen. When handing over the food ticket, the staff asked about the level of spiciness and numbness, which can be adjusted on a scale of 1 to 5. I chose a spiciness level of 2 and numbness level of 1. The seating area consists of 6 counter seats and 6 tatami seats, with black vinegar and vinegar available for seasoning. The kitchen is likely located on a different floor, as there is no visible kitchen on the second floor. The ramen is either brought up or down using a dumbwaiter. The wait time was approximately 10 minutes before my spicy miso oil ramen with flavored egg arrived. The appearance of the ramen was appealing, and the taste was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness and numbness. However, I felt that the miso flavor was lacking and could have been stronger. The thick, curly noodles in the oil-based broth were tasty, and the flavored egg added a mild touch to the dish. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I enjoyed adding a bit of black vinegar and vinegar for extra flavor. The owner recommended pairing the ramen with rice, which I did not order but now regret not trying. Thank you for the meal.

Located on Meiji Street, between Shibuya Police Station and Namiki Bridge intersection, on the second floor of "Nagaoka Ginger Ramen Shoganoyu" where the signs are lined up. It opened on February 24th. I thought it was a popular Karashibi-style shop chain from Kanda or Ikebukuro, but it seems I was mistaken. The naming is slightly different too (laughs). I entered on a weekday at 4:00 PM. There was one customer at the counter. There is a counter and a raised seating area in the back. - I ordered the Warm Egg Spicy Miso Oil Soba (980 yen) with extra noodles (free). - I asked for Level 5 for both Karashi and Shibi, in the Inferno level. You can order up to Level 5 by default. After clearing the previous stage, you can get a pass for the next level. Today, I got a pass for Jolokia X (laughs). Even though it's Level 5, for those who love spicy food, it's only about medium spicy. I love spicy food, but I don't sweat a lot when I eat it, and today was no exception. I was expecting a more eye-opening spiciness and a vivid taste, but overall it felt lukewarm. I like the noodles because they are firm. There is a raised seating area in the back, and they also have alcohol and side menu items, so it seems like a good place for a casual drink. It's rare to find a Hoppy set at a ramen shop. Thank you for the meal ♫

A new restaurant has opened on the second floor of the building that I often pass by on my way from work to Shibuya! The sign had been up for a while, so I was wondering when it would open, and it turns out it opened on February 24th. I visited on a weekday night and tried the "Spicy Miso Oil Soba" with spice level 3 and numbing level 2. The recommended combination is spice level 3 and numbing level 2. The noodles had a chewy texture, slightly thick and flat, with a slightly higher water content, giving them a sticky and satisfying bite. The sauce and ingredients were mixed perfectly, creating a unique texture. The sauce had a mildness from white sesame and cashew nuts, as well as a richness from sesame paste, all balanced excellently. The minced meat added sweetness and richness without being overpowering, and it tasted delicious both on its own and mixed in with the noodles. The dried shrimp and pickled mustard greens added depth, while the watercress and baby bok choy provided a refreshing contrast. The aroma of the chili oil and the numbing sensation of the Sichuan pepper made it addictive. I've been into soupless noodles lately, but this dish was incredibly delicious. I couldn't resist ordering a small bowl of white rice to enjoy the remaining minced meat and dried shrimp. The balance of flavors was outstanding. The restaurant also has tatami seating, giving it a cozy and unique atmosphere. If you order spice level 5 and numbing level 5, you can receive a passport to challenge yourself with even spicier dishes. If you try the "Jolokia X," you can get another passport to take on even more heat. The restaurant has a playful touch, but the flavors are authentic and exceptional. Overall, it's my favorite soupless noodle spot now. The balance of flavors is superb, every ingredient is top-notch, the service is great, and the restaurant has a hidden gem vibe. I will have to try spice level 5 and numbing level 5 next time! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located on the second floor of Shoga no Yu, this newly opened shop last month specializes in spicy miso oil soba from the Noro Ramen group. There are 5 levels of spiciness and numbness, and those who order Level 5 Jolokia X spiciness will receive a ticket to challenge the highest level of spiciness next time! As it was my first time ordering the egg spicy miso oil soba, I chose the intermediate Level 3 (numbness level 1). The thick and chewy noodles were mixed with ground meat, watercress, dried shrimp, egg, and shredded red pepper, and the spiciness was just right. However, since it contains Jolokia, I might be able to handle one more level up. This might be something you crave for during hot weather! Thank you for the meal!

I hadn't been to a very spicy restaurant before, but they had spice levels from 1 to 5 (with an extra +2 for clearing level 5). I chose level 5 and found it delicious. For those who don't like spicy food, level 3 might be manageable.

I visited for the first time. I'm not good with spicy food, but I don't dislike it. I think it's nice to eat while sweating occasionally, especially in the summer. I don't usually eat ramen, so I was curious about "maze soba". It's a style where you mix it from the bottom like oil soba. Ah, I see. The interior of the restaurant is clean and pleasant. The young staff members are humble and likeable. Since it was my first time, I ordered the basic spicy miso maze soba with a flavored egg. When asked about the level of spiciness, I chose '1' to avoid feeling blue after lunch. It was served quickly and I tried it. (About 5 minutes?) Thick curly noodles with minced meat. It's a bit spicy but delicious. I was surprised to find small shrimp at the bottom of the bowl. Oh, there are various ingredients in it. I didn't want to be seen sweating after saying I wanted a level 1 of spiciness, but I ended up sweating a lot after finishing the meal and felt a little embarrassed. I plan to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I had Spicy Miso Oil Soba (spiciness level 3, numbness level 1). The spiciness level 3 wasn't too intense, but it was delicious with dried shrimp in it. The thick noodles had a good chewy texture and mixed well with the sauce. Thank you for the meal.
