First of all... This review was originally written at Shokutaku Satou and was put on hold for a long time before being reposted. Since fautrier-san reviewed the new Satou location, this moldy review is seeing the light of day again lol. The threshold at Nishinakasu is slightly higher compared to Haruyoshi. And by threshold, of course, I mean your wallet (sweat). Even though I have a few favorite spots there, I don't visit them as often as the ones in Haruyoshi, and I'm not at an age to be jealous anymore, but it seems like there are many upscale couple-oriented restaurants in Nishinakasu (mystery). Except for some places that seem to be still working diligently as if the prefectural office was still there, I think Nishinakasu is an area with hidden excellent restaurants. This restaurant used to be located near the Haruyoshi intersection, but moved two years ago. The owner used to work at a certain hotel doing Western cuisine. I've visited a few times with the Haruyoshi Queen and even left my name to reserve. The current location has a counter with six seats on the 2nd floor of a building near the Dolphin alley and two table seats with digging kotatsu. It's like a cozy little place with about 15 people, according to the local magazine "Soignier." The menu and atmosphere are almost the same as before the move, which I think is thanks to the owner's personality. Late at night, starting with typical izakaya snacks, they also have avocado salad, pasta, yakisoba, motsunabe, sashimi, steak, and a variety of genres. It's like the popular gourmet manga "Midnight Diner," and depending on the season, they even have matsuba crab lol. If it's early enough, you can choose recommended dishes, take photos, and post them on Tabelog, but I don't think that's the essence of this restaurant. It's more of a place where you go late at night, alone or with one or two people, feeling a bit peckish, have a drink and some food, and then head home. The chances of running into someone you know and it being awkward should be low (except for me). According to the regulars, the peperoncino and croquettes are delicious and authentic... all recognized by professionals. When I look at the menu on the wall, my eyes always drift towards the carbohydrates (bitter smile). From the numerous menu items, I usually just ask the owner for tonight's recommendation and then choose one dish that I feel like eating. It's a style of going to eat after the staff have finished work, like saying "Good job~". The danger for me is that all the regulars from Yatai Micchan know about this place (lol). Of course, I go there around midnight. As expected, the result is that it takes a toll on my body the next day (sweat). However, they are open until 8 a.m., so you can go straight to work from there. Nothing is impossible in Nishinakasu and Haruyoshi (mystery).
