I arrived at Shiretoko Shari Station planning to have dinner, but the restaurant closed earlier than the information on Tabelog. I got on a taxi from the station and called a few restaurants from my bookmarks, but they were either full or had their last order at 8:30 pm on a Sunday. Finally, I found a restaurant just 100 meters away from the taxi stand. It was full, but I managed to get a table. They charged a table fee of 108 yen and a seating charge of 200 yen. I ordered some dishes from their summer menu, such as grilled eggplant for 410 yen, sashimi konjac for 429 yen, whole grilled hokke fish for 918 yen, seared lamb for 702 yen, assorted cartilage skewers for 712 yen, half portion of Napolitan pasta for 345 yen, a bottle of white wine for 1188 yen, and a bottle of red wine for 1188 yen. Tsubohachi is a chain izakaya, originally from Hokkaido, so the food and prices were typical of that kind of restaurant.

Since long ago, there is Tsuboya in Shari. The prices are reasonable and I go there quite often. It's located on the second floor of a karaoke store, so it's very convenient. When I was in high school, I used to go there a lot. You can order Tsuboya's dishes while singing karaoke. The interior was renovated about 1-2 years ago, and it became more comfortable for small groups with private rooms. This time, I brought my grandma and we went for it. Of course, it was her first time. We were seated at a table for four and placed our orders. Personally, I recommend the hot pot dishes, the prices are reasonable and it's very convenient that you can eat a single serving of hot pot.
