June 30, 2023. For the 6th time in the past month, my friend and I visited "Korean Cuisine Sun" together. We arrived 10 minutes before our 6:30 pm reservation and were seated at the left end of the counter. We ordered the Korean course with all-you-can-drink for 10,000 yen. 1. Summer vegetable namul-style salad: Green pea puree namul with sherry vinegar dressing. 2. Mulfe (fisherman's rice from Busan): Isaki fish, sea grapes, sea asparagus, sea urchin, caviar, and dried cod soup jelly and jelly. 3. Tail soup: Spring rolls with tail meat, cheese, and seaweed. 4. Korean sweet and sour pork: Pineapple, Korean ginseng, and Sichuan pepper sauce with pork tenderloin, bell pepper, and carrot. 5. Chungguchan (fermented soybean paste): White corn rice with clam and napa cabbage kimchi. 6. Makgeolli ice tart with fig. Drinks included welcome champagne, beer, and ginger ale. We started with the welcome champagne as always. The meal started with a refreshing summer vegetable salad, followed by a luxurious dish inspired by Busan's fisherman's rice. The Isaki fish with sea grapes and sea asparagus, topped with sea urchin and caviar, in a cold soup jelly and jelly was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. The tail soup with tail meat, cheese, and seaweed spring rolls was a comforting dish after the cold starters. The Korean sweet and sour pork was tasty, although I personally prefer the Chinese version. The Chungguchan, similar to Japanese natto but with a stronger taste, was interesting and seemed beneficial for health. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing in August, so this was our last visit. I wish the young chef continued success in the future. Bon appétit!

We deeply thank Chef Kiyama for providing us with excellent Korean cuisine at SAN, which is closing at the end of August. A new restaurant with a new name, Mugunghwa, will open in October, offering updated dishes for us to enjoy. When asked about the meaning of SAN, we learned that it comes from the town of Kamizan, where there used to be a mountain where the gods lived. This is the origin of the name SAN.

I am always amazed at the ability to create such dishes with a limited budget. The fact that it includes all-you-can-drink for 10,000 yen is incredibly cheap. I do hope they use better quality meat because it tends to bring out the flavors more easily. It seems like they are planning to relocate, so this may be the last time at this location. I look forward to seeing what they do in their new place.

Visited the restaurant with friends for dinner. Since we were three men, the atmosphere inside was a bit too nice and felt slightly out of place. It was a perfect place for a date. The drinks were all-you-can-drink, and the makgeolli went really well with the food. The dishes were like Korean fusion, visually appealing, not too heavy, and very good.

Korean cuisine that you would find in a top-class hotel in Korea. It's very intricate with hidden flavors, and it seems like something you could enjoy eating every day. The menu is a surprise, but will you be able to make a reservation for the next visit? The current restaurant is fully booked until August, and the new branch will open in October, but the competition for reservations is fierce.

In June 2023, it seems that "Korean Cuisine San" will be moving soon, so this may be the last time at the current location. They change their menu monthly, so you never get bored as there are always new dishes to try. This time, the dishes were delicious as always, especially the tail meat spring rolls. The moolfay and Korean sweet and sour pork were also tasty. The fermented soybean paste dish might be a bit strong for some, but it paired well with clams and cabbage kimchi. Looking forward to visiting the new location whenever it opens. The course menu I had this time included a salad, moolfay, tail soup, Korean sweet and sour pork, fermented soybean paste dish, and a dessert tart with makgeolli ice cream and fig.

The Korean restaurant San in Osaka is truly amazing. The flavors of the dishes have a vibrant blend of aromatic spices and rich flavors in perfect harmony. The service is also excellent, with a warm hospitality that makes you feel welcome. Additionally, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy and inviting. They are relocating by the end of August, so I look forward to seeing the new place. If you want to experience innovative Korean cuisine in an authentic way, this is a must-visit restaurant.

Chef Kiyoyama always takes care of us, which is much appreciated. It was surprising to find out that we have a mutual friend in common with the chef. Our friend has been suffering from back pain since yesterday, so the chef kindly provided Korean ginseng, which is good for the body. However, with dishes like foie gras, sea urchin, and caviar, the Korean ginseng was overshadowed and we all had a good laugh. Overall, the course meal was delicious and satisfying until dessert.

This is a really fun restaurant. Green pea sauce, sesame oil salad, raw ika sashimi, tail soup, spring rolls, Korean-style sweet and sour pork, namul, corn rice, fermented bean soup, fig ice cream tart - all of this quality for 10,000 yen is an unbelievable price! I will definitely visit the new restaurant opening in October.

I visited my favorite Korean restaurant, "Korean Cuisine San," for the second time~ (lol) The meal was a course menu with all-you-can-drink for 10,000 yen (tax included)‼️ (The course menu changes monthly) The contents of this course were... - "Kujolpan" - "Bossam Kimchi" - "New Potato and Tenjang Potage" - "Yukkejang Soup with Rice" - "Dessert (Melon)" My impressions were... - "Kujolpan" A Korean royal cuisine dish served to important guests. The overall gentle seasoning was impressive! It's delicious to eat as is! It's also good to wrap it in the round milchongbyong dough in the middle and eat it! Tonight, I visited a Korean cuisine-based restaurant that I had been curious about but couldn't make a reservation at. Thanks to a regular customer, I was able to visit the restaurant together. The restaurant is located in a stylish space with a concept of a mansion museum, resembling an art museum. The interior is dimly lit and has a calm atmosphere, with 6 counter seats and 4 spacious table seats. The restaurant is run by Mr. Lee Guansung and a young chef, along with two female staff members. The attractive setup attracts mostly young female customers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The course menu of Korean cuisine with all-you-can-drink option was reasonably priced at 10,000 yen. We started with a welcome champagne toast. The meal included: 1. Kujorupan - an assortment of Korean royal cuisine side dishes. 2. Bossam Kimchi - kimchi marinated with squid, octopus, scallops, caviar, sea urchin, and salmon roe on top of sea grapes with mint. 3. New potato and tenjang potage - a creamy potage with seaweed tapenade and a flower-shaped pie. 4. Minced cutlet - a minced cutlet with yaknyeomjang sauce, watercress, and blue cheese. 5. Yukkejang soup and rice - a soup followed by rice for a traditional Korean meal. 6. Melon - ginseng and melon ice cream, makgeolli foam, and cherry. The drinks included welcome champagne, herb gin soda, makgeolli, and highball. The popular restaurant is set to close in August this year and relocate near Fukushima, with plans to change its name. The owner, who originally trained in Western cuisine, opened the restaurant to showcase his roots. The food and atmosphere were both stylish and the traditional Korean dishes were transformed into enjoyable new creations. I look forward to visiting the new location. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a stylish restaurant for the first time and enjoyed the stylish atmosphere. The course meal was delicious and the recommended gin and tonic and makgeolli were also great. I was surprised by the reasonable price when it came time to pay. Apparently, the alcohol cost was included in the homemade drinks. Unfortunately, they will be closed for a while due to moving in July. I will have to go back again.

Today's second visit to the restaurant was with my family. We started with a toast with sparkling wine, followed by some Makgeolli. The Makgeolli here comes in a cute pink bottle and is very easy to drink and delicious. Makgeolli contains a lot of lactic acid bacteria, so you don't feel guilty even if you drink too much. For the first dish, we had a simple Jeon (Korean pancake) that we could wrap our favorite ingredients in. The chewy Jeon with Kanjang sauce was delicious. The second dish was a luxurious Bossam with sea urchin and salmon roe. For the third dish, we had potage soup with Korean seaweed sandwiched in a pie. The main dish was minced cutlet, and for the fifth dish, we had Yukgaejang soup. For dessert, we had melon ice cream with Makgeolli espuma. The restaurant is innovative, stylish, and offers a fusion of flavors that make me look forward to my next visit.

The chef's cooking sense always surprises me every time. He shared his passion for cooking in detail. He never serves the same dish twice in a month. When asked if he ever fails in his experiments, he mentioned that he applies the French techniques he has learned, like timing and tasting, to ensure success. Even with challenging ingredients, he divides them and experiments separately. His innovative spirit and dedication are commendable, and I look forward to seeing his continuous growth and evolution.

I had a wonderful time tonight. The appetizers like kimchi and namul were light and fresh, with seasonal snap peas to enjoy. The shrimp tart was a well-balanced dish with the sweetness of the shrimp and the crispy tart crust complementing each other perfectly. The roasted duck was even more delicious when eaten in chunks, and the sauce made with Korean ginseng added a smooth and pleasant flavor. It had a taste similar to porcini mushrooms. The course includes all-you-can-drink, creative and voluminous dishes for 10,000 yen. In the past, I didn't have the impression of such a voluminous meal, but this time, the meat was too big, and I felt like there was a lot. It's fun to chat with the chef. The interior of the restaurant is stylish with dim lighting, and there were many couples at the counter. Recently, it has become difficult to make reservations, and it feels like they might turn away first-time visitors. (You can go as a first-time visitor if there is a last-minute cancellation.) For multiple people, it's booked until August. The counter seats are especially popular. They can accommodate quite a few people, but the pace is quite good. Since it's all-you-can-drink, you might not notice too much. The all-you-can-drink menu includes wine (sparkling, white, red), beer, highball, lemon sour, and other standard options. The wine is cost-effective, but the fresh makgeolli is quite delicious. This alone might be enough. 😂 Pugok (clam extract soup), napa cabbage kimchi, kkanjaseu (pickled radish), spring cabbage with Japanese dressing, burdock sweet and savory simmered dish, Korean-style oden sweet and savory simmered dish, zucchini tempura, clams, tenjang miso, grilled cheese - it looks beautiful. Salmon roe, tuna, avocado, sesame oil tartare, seaweed, French toast with butterbur shoot sauce - the tartare is a safe bet, and it's quite large, which is nice. I really liked the fluffy texture of the French toast. It's interesting to combine it with butterbur shoots. Asparagus, urui celery water kimchi, chicken wing dumplings in yangnyeom chicken style (chicken breast, chives), tomato yangnyeom sauce - the yangnyeom chicken is too stylish. Grilled pork spare ribs with tenjang miso and orange sauce, Korean seaweed mayo - it was too big. 😂 The Korean seaweed mayo was delicious. Bibim noodles with keema curry, dill banana, kiwi, red beans, vanilla ice cream - mix it like bibimbap. The texture of the red beans is great!
