Hello, this is Harukichi♪ I had been intrigued by the cool exterior and atmosphere of this restaurant every time I passed by, and I had always wanted to visit. "Sakaba Nogiku" is the name of the place. On this night, accompanied by a talkative friend, we were looking for a place where we could have a quiet drink and chat. We started with a toast with Akahoshi Sapporo beer. The atmosphere was just as nice as I had hoped for. There is a nostalgic Showa era vibe lingering around. Besides us, there was only one regular customer, a gentleman, who struck up a conversation with us right after the toast. We quickly hit it off, and soon the four of us were engaged in lively conversation. We ordered dishes like "Whale Bacon (500 yen)", "Kimchi Tofu", "Grilled Hormone (1,300 yen per person)", and "Osaka-style Grilled Squid (500 yen)". The dishes were all simple and cheap, with strong flavors, but somehow that was forgivable in this cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Or maybe we were just having too much fun chatting, and the food became secondary. We switched to Black Hoppy halfway through. It made me feel like I was drinking in Asakusa with this atmosphere. And they use Kinmiya Hoppy here too. I really like the atmosphere of this place. It's very calming. Our conversation covered various topics like work, economy, marriage, and politics, and we had a blast. I would recommend this place to people who enjoy drinking in a relaxed atmosphere, regardless of the food. The regular customer mentioned that most people who come here are heavy drinkers. Maybe even if you come alone, you can have a good time here. It's a hidden gem in Nishi Nakasu that you wouldn't want to become too popular. Well then, Harukichi♪. Fukuoka's finest gourmet.

I visited "Sakaba Nogiku" in Nishi Nakasu, which has been in business for 14 years. The old-fashioned Japanese atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice, with tatami rooms in the back and decorations like kabu and Benri motorcycles. It feels like a Tokyo-style setting, where you can enjoy a Hoppy drink while snacking on appetizers like boiled beans and ohitashi. The nikujaga made by the owner's mother was delicious, and the beef stew was also really good. The pork kakuni was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I definitely want to try the agosake next time. Although the menu isn't extensive, the regular customers are friendly and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I will definitely visit "Sakaba Nogiku" again. Address: 12-6 Nishi Nakasu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. Phone: 092-761-5221. Business hours: 18:30-24:00, closed on Sundays.

It was a rainy morning, so I didn't commute to work on my bike. By the time I left the office a little later, the rain had stopped, so I decided to walk home. As I walked through the alley connecting Sanko Bridge to Nishi Nakasu, I noticed a place called "Nogiku" that had always caught my eye. The retro exterior of the place seemed to attract drinkers like me. I went inside and ordered a draft beer. The appetizers included boiled vegetables and various snacks that go well with drinks. I also tried the marinated horse mackerel and the tender simmered chicken wings. Both were delicious. The atmosphere of the place made me want to try some sake, so I chose a bottle of Nanbu Bijin from the menu. It was my first time trying Nanbu Bijin, and it was fruity with a pleasant aroma that wasn't overpowering. It was really good. Although I only spent about 30 minutes there, it was a very pleasant drinking experience. Thank you for the meal!
