It has been 9 years since my last visit. When deciding on where to have dinner for our long-awaited Osaka sightseeing trip, my companion and I both agreed on revisiting Ichiryu. Located about a 10-minute walk from our hotel in Shinsaibashi, it's a bit away from the bustling crowds. The young chef at the front seems to handle phone reservations in between cooking, and most of the desired dates are fully booked. Especially for early reservation times, it's best to act quickly. Reservations are accepted from the 1st of each month at noon for the following month. Since the restaurant has long operating hours, we thought we might be able to get a table once the early diners left. Just like my previous visit, they also inform you when a table becomes available. Although I was initially worried about the lack of prices on the menu, I found out that ordering freely wasn't as intimidating as I thought. We started with a sashimi platter, which included a fragrant straw-grilled bonito and sea urchin mixed with seaweed, a taste of spring. The firefly squid and spring vegetable salad was a delightful mix of mountain vegetables, veggies, and seasonal flavors. The tender calf steak was a hit. The grilled eel was a bit too fatty for someone used to the Kanto style. The mushroom tempura with the accompanying cream was delicious. We added the freshly harvested bamboo shoot, recommended by the chef, which was sweet and tender. For dessert, we had the same dry curry as last time. As for drinks, we had a draft beer followed by three types of chilled sake. While the restaurant doesn't seem to focus on Osaka sake, the price of 1,100 yen per glass was reasonable. The lack of prices on the menu is to adjust the portion size based on the number of diners. On the bright side, ordering freely won't lead to any arguments when sharing dishes. The total bill came to around 28,000 yen for two people. According to the restaurant's website, the average price range is 12,000 to 15,000 yen, so our bill was within the typical range. It wasn't cheap, but we had no complaints.

Two drinks and three dishes for 5,500 yen. The taste is amazing. I recommend going about an hour before closing to have a quick drink and enjoy the seasonal ingredients. Even those with discerning palates will be satisfied. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Here, I visited a high-class Japanese restaurant as part of my quest to visit 100 famous restaurants. I made a reservation by phone for a weekday night. The restaurant has 22 seats and serves upscale Japanese cuisine. I ordered dishes such as "Assorted Sashimi," "Grilled Kaibashira with Wasabi Sauce," "Grilled White Eel from Mikawa," and "Marinated Fruits Tomato and Seafood." The sashimi was of high quality, especially the sweet shrimp and octopus. The grilled kaibashira was also delicious when paired with the sauce. I also tried the grilled white eel, which was not as impressive compared to specialized eel restaurants. Since prices are not listed on the menu, those concerned about cost may want to avoid this place. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

As usual, we made a reservation and visited with two people. We started with bottled beer. A small appetizer was served, which was the liver and roe of conger eel simmered in a sweet sauce. It was delicious. The assorted sashimi and grilled eel are must-haves at this restaurant. The sashimi included sea bream, octopus, striped jack, ark shell, tuna, and sweet shrimp marinated in Shaoxing wine. The ark shell, in season now, was particularly delicious with its unique sweetness. The grilled eel was excellent as always. In addition, we ordered ham-wrapped myoga (Japanese ginger), curry simmered with new potatoes and beef tendons, and cheese-wrapped conger eel. Finally, we enjoyed my favorite dish, dry curry.

Today, I stopped by a restaurant after playing golf with my close friends. The staff always provides polite phone service. The seating is mainly at the counter, but the counter itself is very comfortable. We had abalone and fresh sea urchin grilled, salt-grilled blackthroat seaperch, grilled white eel, Hokkaido water octopus sashimi, wagyu beef roast beef, grilled swordfish sashimi, corn and sakura shrimp tempura, and Aomori natural tuna. I drank so much that I don't remember if we had the final dish of rice. One of my friends left early because of work the next day. Thank you for the delicious meal as always!

The price is quite high. I think I paid around 7,000 yen for 3 drinks and 3-4 appetizers. Despite that, I felt like I wanted to go again. It may be a luxurious dinner for the average person, but if you have the money, it's worth it. I will go again! The seasonal dishes, like the pickled eggplant, were unexpectedly delicious. I recommend trying the seasonal dishes!

When it comes to Japanese cuisine in Namba, I highly recommend Ichiyo. Their sashimi, roast beef with ichibo, grilled Mikawa eel, mushroom tempura, grilled shirako with soy sauce, and grilled abalone with sea urchin are all delicious and enjoyable to savor. I always end up drinking too much sake here. Eating delicious food naturally leads to a fun drinking party. It's wonderful to see a restaurant that can make people happy. I will definitely visit this place again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

We made a reservation again and visited the restaurant with two people. We sat at the counter and ordered bottled beer. When ordering a la carte, we always end up ordering the same things. The assorted sashimi and grilled eel are must-haves at this restaurant. The sashimi includes horse mackerel, sweet shrimp marinated in Shaoxing wine, tuna, cutlassfish, sea bream, liver of thread-sail filefish, and squid. They are all delicious, but this time the sweet shrimp stands out in taste. The eel is also starting to grill. We eat it rolled with wasabi and seaweed. It's incredibly delicious. After that, we had fried conger eel and eggplant, duck meat and new potato curry stew, and for the first time, we had meat. It was Ichibo beef and sea urchin and egg over rice. I didn't order the dry curry this time, which is a shame because I couldn't eat it due to being full.

We made various reservations for four people, and the top favorite was the water sashimi. The Kai no Mi with wasabi sauce was also delicious. The red meat was moist and we wanted to order more. The water eggplant salad was interesting and tasted like a fruit salad. The mushroom tempura with plenty of sauce was also enjoyable.

Every year, for some reason, Golden Week means work (lol). I don't usually slack off, though! So, I took a break and went to Ichiyo-san for some delicious food. Because, let's face it, life is better with good food, right?! I started with a Kirin Ichiban beer for 440 yen, followed by some sake. Today, I went for a menu that seemed light: - Appetizer (matcha tofu) - Assorted sashimi: Hokkaido octopus, Akashi natural sea bream, firefly squid, soy sauce-marinated sea urchin, natural kawahagi liver, Tokushima magochi, natural striped horse mackerel - Sakura shrimp and edamame tempura - Conger eel and lotus root tempura - Mikawa eel grilled with wasabi and seaweed - Ichibo meat and sea urchin with scrambled eggs - Simmered sardines with sesame dressing - Cha soba with duck broth Sake choices included: - Oita Chiebijin Junmai sake - Miyagi Hidamari extra dry Junmai sake - Wakayama Kuruma-saka special Junmai sake Shochu choices included: - Kametsubo storage unfiltered Taru sake - Washio limited edition Kametsubo brewed All the dishes were top-notch, starting with the seasonal appetizer and the high-quality sashimi platter. The aroma of the Sakura shrimp and edamame tempura was irresistible, and the tempura itself was made with the best dashi. The grilled eel was crispy and delicious, and the Ichibo meat with scrambled eggs was tender and flavorful. The sardines with sesame dressing were a great pairing with drinks. And finally, the first experience of Cha soba with duck broth was the perfect way to end the meal. I had a great time at Ichiyo-san, as always. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On this day, I was taken to a restaurant by Mr. Shinouchi Ichiyo to celebrate my birthday! I had been wanting to go there for a while, so I was finally able to go and received a very nice celebration. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, the extensive a la carte menu, the quality of the ingredients used, it was a wonderful restaurant that made us customers very happy! Thank you very much for the meal.

I was taken to the restaurant Island Ichiyoh by a friend for my birthday. It's a highly rated restaurant on Tabelog with over 3.8 stars. We had a variety of dishes including sashimi platter, grilled sea bream milt, roasted wagyu beef, grilled eel, wagyu beef cutlet, clam soup, duck broth tea soba, and curry. The sashimi platter included unique items like raw filefish liver with soy sauce and young conger eel. The grilled eel had a rich fatty flavor and the roasted beef was incredibly tender and flavorful. The sea bream milt was creamy and delicious. All the dishes were excellent and I'm grateful for being taken to this hard-to-book restaurant. I couldn't drink alcohol this time as I was driving, but I'd love to come back and enjoy some sake next time. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.

A popular traditional Japanese restaurant in Minami where you can order seasonal ingredients a la carte. The service is polite and the atmosphere is comfortable. It is recommended to make a reservation at least one month in advance. Some recommended dishes include pickled plum with udo, assorted sashimi, firefly squid, needle squid, water octopus, horse mackerel, firefly squid and lily root simmered in egg, roast beef with ichibo, grilled white eel from Mikawa, tempura bamboo shoots, mixed fish rice, and miscellaneous fish rice.

I visited on a weekday night. I made a reservation by phone about a month ago. It was a semi-private room with a digging hearth, but there was a good distance from the next table, so it didn't bother me at all. It was essentially a private room. Whether an izakaya is good or not, I think you can tell right away by eating sashimi, and as soon as I took a bite, I knew it was a wonderful place. The freshness, quality, and presentation were all perfect. The firefly squid with vinegar miso and roast beef were all fantastic, but the roast beef in particular was outstanding. We ordered various other dishes besides what is shown in the photos, and everything was satisfying, including the tuna yukhoe rice to finish. The price is also less than 10,000 yen per person, and considering the content, the cost performance is good. If you're looking for a delicious izakaya around here, you can't go wrong with this place.

I was invited by a senior and recognized the name as one I had heard before, so I had already bookmarked it. I accepted the invitation and went there. I left it up to my senior to order, as everything they recommended was delicious. It was nice not having to worry about not being able to finish a course meal like at a traditional Japanese restaurant. I can't remember what the appetizer mousse was, but it was so good that I could keep drinking just that. We had sashimi, assorted raw fish, oyster ponzu, and grilled shirako, all paired with white wine. The order in which the dishes were served was well thought out. The roast beef, with its high-quality fat that melts in your mouth, was my senior's top recommendation. The tempura was also very delicious. I didn't have room for a closing dish. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit lively (but not too loud). They also have private rooms, so it could be used for social gatherings or dates.

It's a Kaiseki restaurant where you can order your favorite dishes a la carte, so it's very convenient and I love this place. I think the cost performance is excellent. The salt-grilled throat blackfish is delicious with plenty of fat, the grilled white eel is also a popular menu item, and the fugu shirako is incredibly large, about the size of a fist. Among them, the roast beef is so tender that the meat melts in your mouth, it was truly impressive.

This time, a banquet was arranged at this restaurant as a reward for work. I have no idea where it is located, but I assume it is a decent place given the location in the heart of Osaka and the course menu. However, the quality, quantity, and skill far exceeded my expectations. Each dish was meticulously crafted and made with high-quality ingredients. I couldn't help but think that the cost performance must be amazing, considering the cost of ingredients. It's surprising to find such restaurants in Osaka where you can enjoy meals that exceed expectations. It's truly a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

We made a reservation as usual and visited the restaurant with two people. We decided to order a la carte and share the dishes between the two of us. We started with bottled beer. A small appetizer was served, which consisted of rapeseed flowers with sesame paste, giving it a great sesame flavor. For our main dishes, we ordered a sashimi assortment and grilled eel. The sashimi included yellowtail, flatfish, octopus, horse mackerel, whelk, seaweed, flounder, and they were all delicious, with the horse mackerel being particularly light and tasty. The grilled eel was served and we enjoyed it by wrapping it in seaweed with plenty of wasabi. We also had mountain asparagus, blowfish milt grilled with salt, fried oysters, and tempura with shrimp and butterbur sprouts. Lastly, we finished with the classic dry curry.

One of my favorite restaurants to visit every month is Shimanouchi Ichiyo, a cozy spot where you can order creative Japanese-Western fusion dishes a la carte. Whenever I come here, I always order the "Assorted sashimi" as shown in the first photo. This time, it included blowfish and kawahagi liver, a perfect selection for the winter season and incredibly delicious. The second photo shows the "Grilled nodoguro with salt," which pairs wonderfully with sake. The fish was cooked to perfection, crispy even down to the bones. The fourth photo features the "Grilled fugu shirako," a dish that needs no introduction due to its exquisite taste. The fifth photo shows the "Simmered beef tendon and root vegetables," while the sixth photo displays the "Pork and hourensou soup," a gentle and comforting flavor that warms the stomach. The seventh photo is the "Mushroom tempura," where the aroma of the mushrooms spreads throughout the mouth when dipped in the sauce made from mushrooms, a must-try for mushroom lovers. To finish off, the eighth photo shows the "Greens and karasumi porridge," a porridge reminiscent of Nanakusa-gayu with the mild saltiness of homemade karasumi adding a nice touch. This restaurant always has a lively atmosphere and provides a cozy environment that fills both the heart and body. It's a beloved spot that I want to keep visiting for a long time. I highly recommend this place, so please come and experience it for yourself. ☺️✨
