Whether it's early or late, I can always count on Isomaru Suisan for a delicious seafood bowl. I visit this place multiple times a year. On this day, I was at a school fair at Sunshine City, and all the other restaurants in Ikebukuro were packed with tourists and students, with long lines everywhere. I brought my son here, and he ordered the Tuna Marinated Bowl (large) for ¥967, with extra rice and extra marinated tuna. The tuna in the middle was beautifully arranged like a rose, making it not only delicious but also visually appealing. I ordered the Tuna Marinated Bowl with less rice for ¥725. Whenever I'm unsure, I always go for this dish. Even with less rice, the price remains the same. The chopped seaweed sprinkled on top adds a nice touch. The marinated tuna is flavorful, and the rice is hidden underneath, making it very satisfying. My son always orders the miso soup with seaweed, which comes in a generous-sized bowl. Ordering via QR code is quick and easy, especially for bowl dishes where you can customize your order. Isomaru Suisan is a izakaya that I always go to when I can't decide where to eat. It's a very satisfying place. The otoshi (appetizer) consists of small fish, fish paste, and what seems to be hanpen cheese, all cooked on a grill in front of you. It may seem simple, but it's surprisingly delicious. I ordered a highball, which was refreshing with a good amount of carbonation. I spent an hour just drinking highballs. I'm a big fan of the crab miso here, so I always pair it with sake, which is a match made in heaven. Isomaru Suisan is great because the otoshi is perfect for drinking more alcohol. After drinking and eating to my heart's content, I spent around 3000 yen for one person. I'm satisfied with the experience and will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The 4-color bowl consisted of around 100g of negitoro, 3 slices of tuna, 2 slices of salmon, and 2 slices of yellowtail, all of which were quite large. There are many Isomaru Suisan locations in Ikebukuro, but this time we went to the one on the way from the East Exit towards Sunshine City! Isomaru Suisan is already well-known and talked about, but I personally like it because you can eat sashimi at a reasonable price! On this day, the tuna, amberjack, salmon, and shrimp were all delicious even though they were affordable! Of course, I also love their charcoal-grilled dishes, and I think this is one of the few places where you can easily enjoy them! The scallops were particularly delicious on this day! As part of the charcoal-grilled dishes, I always seem to order the crab miso shell grilled dish! It's creamy and has a strong crab flavor without being too fishy! I usually order Yuzu Mitsusawa (a sweet citrus drink) for my alcohol here! It's sweet but surprisingly goes well with the food! Towards the end, I recommend trying some sake as well! If you ever find yourself in a bustling area, definitely give it a try!

= R1.9 = I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 1 PM. The place is open 24 hours and about 70% of the customers were already drinking alcohol in the afternoon. Since I was driving, I only had lunch and ordered the maguro (tuna) donburi for 590 yen. The dish came in a bowl similar to what you would find at a gyudon (beef bowl) restaurant, with thinly sliced maguro and a dollop of wasabi on top. It was a great value for the price.

When I go to Isomaru Suisan, I always order the crab miso shell grilled, but this time I decided not to because it was too hot to use the stove (lol). Instead, I quickly grilled the appetizer and turned off the fire right away. They had a dish called Shirasu (whitebait) Ajillo, which I had tried at another restaurant before and it was delicious, but Isomaru Suisan did not disappoint! There was an overwhelming amount of shirasu, almost too much to use for Ajillo. It kind of lost the Ajillo flavor, but it was still delicious if you don't think of it as Ajillo.

This place is often used for band drinking parties. The order may vary, but the one thing we always get is the crab miso. I don't feel anything outstanding about Isomaru, but this crab miso is truly the best. I feel like I have to order it at least once a year, or I'll die. This time, we also had ham cutlets. The ham was thick and perfect as a side dish for alcohol. Sunshine store is spacious and can accommodate any number of people, so it was a regular spot when I worked nearby. Now that there's a studio nearby, it has become the band's companion. Well, that's how versatile it is in every situation.
