After a steak restaurant specializing in aged meat vacated the space, an Indian restaurant moved in. The atmosphere is quite authentic, so I had been thinking of visiting once. Located below a dentist's office, I decided to stop by after my treatment. In the area around Nishi-Shinbashi, many shops close after 1 o'clock. My dental treatment was supposed to be finished last week, so I had purposely eaten at Hanamaru Udon in Ofuna to avoid any smells, but when I arrived at the station, the train bound for Tokyo was not moving. There seemed to be a vehicle or signal malfunction just before Totsuka. I followed the station and train announcements to transfer to another train, but that train also stopped moving, so I had no choice but to take the most reliable Negishi Line (Keihin-Tohoku Line) to get there. In the end, I was late for my dentist appointment. The cleaning and treatment took a little longer than expected. By the time it was over, it was already past 1:30. I walked down the escalator and entered this Indian restaurant. The lunch rush was over, but there were still a few groups of customers. After I entered, a few more customers came in. It seems there is quite a demand for a slightly delayed lunch. I was contemplating whether to order Biryani, but since it takes time, I opted for the 2 curry set (990 yen). The curry options were daily special, Butter Chicken, Chicken, Keema, Mixed Vegetable, and Shrimp Mushroom. The daily special was already sold out, so I chose Chicken and Mixed Vegetable. I chose rice over naan. I love fluffy Basmati rice. The dishes arrived promptly since the peak hours had passed. Unexpectedly, the rice was Japanese rice instead of Basmati rice. I refocused and started eating the curry. First, the Mixed Vegetable curry. It was mildly spicy but had a nice aroma of spices. Not bad. Next was the Chicken curry. This one had a decent level of spiciness and was quite flavorful, which I liked. However, even though the curry was delicious, having Japanese rice instead of Basmati rice was a bit disappointing. Basmati rice would have been perfect. I recommend choosing naan over rice. All the other customers had chosen naan. Thank you for the meal. Next time, I'll try the Biryani.
