きさらぎ
I had been there once before, but today on my solo business trip back. It's cold, too cold. I thought winter would never come to Osaka, but finally in January, winter has arrived. I didn't want to go back to my empty house, so I dragged my suitcase to "Tanpopo" because I was craving the motsunabe I had eaten before. The small restaurant was crowded. The warm atmosphere was comforting. The cute waitress greeted me with a smile. The counter had about 8 seats. The narrow interior was cozy, just the way I like it. Even with tables, the capacity was around 30 people. Nearby salarymen, office ladies, couples, and groups of girls were all lively and having a good time. At the counter, I started to order a beer, but the girl said with a smile, "You want it with hot water, right?" So I went with that. Hot water mixed with shochu♪♪ The motsunabe came in three flavors: Japanese-style, spicy, and miso. Because it was cold, I chose the spicy one. It was around 890 yen for one serving. They brought the hot pot to the table with a portable stove, and as a side dish while waiting, I ordered grilled mackerel (half) for about 390 yen. I thought I would eat it as it was, but they also offered to grill it. So, I went with that. The girl grilled it on the burner at the table. The surface sizzled and charred, and the oil from the mackerel seeped out, making it look incredibly delicious~! Squeezed some lemon on it. Yum~☆ The motsunabe, even though it was meant for one person, had a generous portion, so it could be shared by two. I was already full, so I couldn't finish it, but the broth was delicious and full of the flavor of motsu, making it perfect to add noodles or rice as a finishing touch. It's a highball bar, so other customers were ordering highballs left and right. Even alone, I felt at ease. Although there was a counter, I couldn't interact with the staff inside due to the nature of the food, so I couldn't have a conversation, which was a bit disappointing. But I felt warm and cozy. My stomach was satisfied, and I felt happy~. I'll probably end up going back a few more times during the winter...
