As summer approaches with the arrival of Risshun, Osaka is getting hotter. While thinking about what to eat for lunch while looking at my PC, the thought of curry came to mind. Instead of regular curry, I decided to go for spiced curry and headed to this place. It's a popular restaurant, so arriving at 11:30 was considered late, so I left the office early. There were 3 customers waiting, but there were 2 seats available inside, so I was seated first. Eating out alone is really enjoyable. I ordered the Keema curry as it was my first time here, but it seemed like most customers were having mixed curry. The curry costs 1200 yen... the idea of curry being priced at 1200 yen is starting to feel normal, which is a bit strange. However, we can't keep dragging the economy down with deflation. The master's conversation skills are highly praised, and his consideration for customers is truly remarkable. As for another highlight, after serving the curry, the master sprinkles an abundance of spices on top! That action reminded me of adding toppings like green onions, tempura bits, and ginger at a takoyaki stand, making it fun. It's been a while since I've had this much fun peeking over the counter. They took my order first, so the Keema curry arrived in less than 10 minutes. The curry had a soupier texture than soup curry, and it leaned towards the oily side. Mixing the spice powder in added viscosity, but the basic way to eat it was pouring the soup over the rice. Since it was my first time, I took a bite of the chili pepper and then tried the curry as instructed. This method was also enjoyable. Well, the chili pepper itself wasn't particularly spicy or bitter... The curry had the aroma of spices, but wasn't very spicy. The charm of spiced curry lies in its complex flavor, so it doesn't need to be focused on spiciness. Something stood out... bonito flakes? Yes, it was Maldives fish. The small pieces in the soup outshined the spiciness, bringing out a salty and savory taste, which was impressive. On the other hand, other spices didn't stand out, but there's no need to worry about that when it comes to the dish. In conclusion, the rating for a return visit is: ☆☆ It's nearby, delicious, the master is entertaining, so it's worth visiting, but the cost-performance ratio is not great... Sometimes you just want to casually stop by for some good old basic curry when you feel like it.
