Hakkei Chayamachi, there is a restaurant called Shirakiya in the building right in front of the station. It was late at night and the air conditioning was not working properly, so I couldn't work... I remembered that there was a counter seat where you could drink alone, so I decided to go in. It was already past the peak time on a weekend night, so the inside of the restaurant was quite calm. Nowadays, many izakayas close early, so I am really grateful that they are open until morning. They had a Green Curry Fair this summer. The edamame appetizer and grilled chicken with curry sauce were satisfying and had a good portion size! I think it would be even better if you sear the skin side with a burner or direct flame for a moment. The staff were very kind and helpful. As expected from a long-established chain izakaya, the service was consistent. I would like to use this place casually again! Thank you very much.

There was even fresh fruit sour available at the all-you-can-drink option.

I came here because the restaurant I was looking for was crowded. I had edamame and drinks while chatting. The prices are cheap overall, especially some cocktails were only 198 yen, which I thought was a great deal. The drinks weren't watered down at all, so the cost performance was high. I ordered a matcha Calpis, which was sweet and had cherries in it. It was a bit warm in the back seats, but the semi-private atmosphere made it easy to talk.

On weekends, despite the bad weather, the place was quite crowded. The drinks were all-you-can-drink, but it took about 20 minutes to get them... The staff were working hard and rushing around, but still, it was a bit frustrating when there were no drinks available... But considering the low price, I guess it's understandable. The all-you-can-drink deal was ¥800 for 2 hours with a coupon, and even if you added a draft beer, it was only ¥1000. The food was mostly standard and tasted average. Here are a few dishes that I thought were good: Omusoba for ¥418, it was a generous portion and served hot on a hot plate. The salmon ochazuke for ¥313 had a big piece of grilled salmon. The table-side seared marinated mackerel was also visually appealing and had a good portion size.

It is a popular chain restaurant that appears frequently. Despite looking a bit expensive, it is surprisingly cheap for an izakaya. Since the drinks are inexpensive, those who don't drink much may find it more cost-effective to order individual items at Shirakiya rather than opting for all-you-can-drink options. It's more suited for drinking parties rather than dates. The place is always crowded and well-liked. There are also plenty of cocktail options, making it appealing to women as well. The restaurant is easy to find and I'm sure everyone knows it, so I will definitely use it again for drinking parties.

I used a coupon worth 5,000 yen from the Monterosa Group that I received through my Epos card to visit "Shirakiya" in Chayamachi. We were seated at a counter with a TV for every two seats, which was great for watching sports. We ordered edamame, Asahi beer, a Japanese radish salad, eggplant, kimchi, Engawa Ponzu, and Russian Minced Cutlet. The Russian Minced Cutlet had a hint of habanero, giving it a slight spiciness. We also had horse sashimi, beef tendon tofu, Hormone skewers, shochu, and finished with Marutai ramen and hot sake. The bill came to around 7,000 yen for two people, but with the coupon, we only paid around 3,000 yen. It was a great deal, but we still had 1,000 yen left on the coupon that we couldn't use for the 1,000 yen all-you-can-drink special.
