I pass through Nishi-kujo once a year for work. This time, I arrived before noon and checked on Tabelog for a lunch spot in advance. I confirmed that there was an affordable lunch at a place called "Sei" and walked about 2 minutes from the station to the same store. Just as I arrived, I saw someone in a railway company uniform entering the store, so I was confident that it would be okay for station staff to use it. There are 500 yen and 700 yen courses available. The 700 yen course seems to have a variety of items. There are also fish dishes, but I wanted to fuel up for my afternoon work, so I ordered the double beef mince cutlet set from the 500 yen course. Now that it has arrived, it looks quite appetizing. Since it says "double beef," I thought the quality of the meat might be different for each piece, but it's actually double because there are two pieces. However, it's typical of Osaka to emphasize the "beef." It was very delicious. I got to see the true power of Osaka's one-coin lunch. I haven't had the opportunity to have a lunch set at an izakaya in Tokyo recently, but it seems that there are few places where you can casually enter if you want to keep the cost of lunch down. The first meal of my visit to Osaka was 100% satisfying.

I've been here before and it's a good place to eat and drink cheaply, so I decided to visit again. There aren't many nice izakayas for a casual drink in Nishikujo, so I always struggle to find one. I ordered the shime saba (pickled mackerel), mizudumplings, and rakkyo. The dishes ranged from 250 to 400 yen, and it was definitely a good deal for the price. The food was okay considering the price. The location is convenient as it's close to the station, so it's a good spot for a quick drink. Thank you for the meal ★

Today, I had a drinking party with two childhood friends at a restaurant called Masasan, located just a 1-2 minute walk from Nishikujo Station on the Hankyu Railway and JR Loop Line. We sat at a table, raised our glasses to toast to everyone's health, and started with a cheers~♪ I had made a reservation online for this place, and although it was everyone's first time at Masasan, they were impressed by the menu prices, saying "Everything is so cheap here~" with a laugh. They understood the true spirit of a drinker – wanting affordable dishes, delicious food, and plenty of drinks. Masasan is perfect for that. With most menu items priced between 294-399 yen, you can order without worrying about the bill. Additionally, during happy hour from 5-7 pm, all drinks are just 294 yen each. And on weekends, you can get a serving of chicken tempura for just 100 yen per person! We decided to enjoy some other dishes as well and have a leisurely drink while catching up on old times. Edamame, garlic stir-fried sand lance, avocado with wasabi soy sauce, butter soy sauce grilled eringi mushrooms... everything was delicious and worth more than the price. The Old Drink for 294 yen during happy hour ended at 7 pm, but we were prepared for that. We continued to order and enjoy ourselves. As we reminisced about our childhood, such as swimming naked in the Yodo River and running away from the police after throwing firecrackers into a bonfire, we had a happy time drinking good sake. The beef tendon stew and pork braised in soy sauce are highly recommended dishes at this price! The meat they use is top-notch! Especially the braised pork, it melts in your mouth with its tenderness! Salted cucumber, cheese crackers, crispy shrimp senbei... there were no disappointments at all. Despite closing at 11 pm on Sundays, they let us drink until almost midnight, and we were grateful for that. Looking at the menu, they offer bottle keep options for shochu, with a 900ml bottle of Kurokiri for 2500 yen and a 1.8L bottle for 5000 yen. If you can drink at such affordable prices, I'll definitely be back for bottle keep next time! Please don't tell me not to come back, I'll definitely be back~ Please and thank you (laughs).

On Monday, I had a business trip to Osaka and once again found myself in Osaka. After the meeting, we had the usual social gathering. This time we visited this place. It was located near Nishikujo Station, where even Myrebi-san had visited, which shows how upscale it is. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice as well. And the food was also impressive! I had planned to enjoy the night in Nishikujo, but it was time to move to the next destination the next day, so I had to leave the restaurant with my colleagues and senior coworkers. I will definitely visit again next time and take my time to enjoy it.
