There used to be a soba restaurant in this building, but it's gone now. It's already past 1:30, so I'll just go with whatever. They only have wine for alcohol, no beer, either bottled or on tap. Wine with curry? It's a bit hard to accept that combination. But I do want a drink, so I'll go with the iced chai. Soft drinks are all 250 yen. In that case, wouldn't the "special set" with a drink for 1500 yen be a better deal? But I don't really feel like eating a lot without beer, so maybe my choice this time (the cheapest "Indian curry set" for 900 yen before tax) isn't necessarily a mistake. It's true that the restaurant made a mistake in their selection, but not having beer is probably beyond their control. Do I have to confirm every time I enter a restaurant from now on? The curry and naan were delicious as usual. The texture of the potatoes was a bit off. It's not that they were bad, or obviously frozen, but I wonder if they were just reheated from fresh or if there's some clever freezing technology at play. The world of food is truly fascinating. The yogurt was more like a drink, and in such a small amount, it didn't seem to serve much purpose. Overall, the low rating is mainly due to the lack of beer.

Lunchtime, what should I have? When I asked Bing instead of chatGPT, it recommended chilled Chinese noodles. Seriously? So, where in Shibuya is good for that? When I asked, it was said to be nearby. Upon arrival, the restaurant only had table seating! It seemed impossible to go alone! Even for a solo pro like me, the atmosphere made me hesitate. As I walked, I found a curry restaurant. Hmm... I've been eating a lot of naan lately... Maybe not... Huh!? Chicken Biryani set! Looks delicious! So, I looked inside the Kaopio restaurant... Looks like there's an open seat! "I'm alone, is that okay?" Okay. With that, I entered Kaopio restaurant! Check out the full story on the blog site for more photos! KHAO PIO Shibuya Asian Resort Dining!? A sudden change from recommended chilled Chinese noodles to Chicken Biryani for lunch one day (lol).

Category: [Tokyo] Curry and Indian cuisine ☆ Shibuya Lunch
Cross Tower is a landmark in Shibuya, known for its towering presence. It seems like it has been a while since the last time a new restaurant opened here. KHAOPIO is the latest addition.
Pay close attention to the menu. If you upgrade from one curry to two, it's an extra 40 yen. And if you go from two to three curries, it's an extra 330 yen. It's really not worth it to go for three curries. The only difference between the two curry and Tandoori sets is the Tandoori chicken, which is only 110 yen. This might be a tempting option for beginners.
But take a look at the Chicken Biryani set. You get unlimited rice and naan with one curry for just 1320 yen. It's a great deal to enjoy Biryani for only 370 yen.
In 2017, the initial taxi fare in Tokyo was reduced from 730 yen to 410 yen. But this Biryani set is even cheaper at 370 yen. You could walk 1 km and still have enough money left to enjoy Biryani.
The lesson here is not to just focus on the cost but to savor and enjoy the food. I look forward to being more mindful during my future lunch experiences at Sapura Izu, which is always evolving.

It's delicious. You can have unlimited naan and rice, and the cost performance is excellent. Definitely try it if you feel like eating curry!
