August 2017 purchase, posted on November 16th (all information is from the time of purchase) (prices are tax included) - Convenient for lazy cooking. It was useful for solo home lunches. - Pour over rice: Jajangmyeon rice, ¥290 Inspired by Korean-style jajangmyeon, made with pork, potatoes, carrots, and seasoned sweet and spicy. Enjoy with cucumbers if desired. 120g, 181kcal, quite delicious. - Pour over rice: Amami Oshima-style chicken rice, ¥210 (discontinued) Currently selling "Pour over rice: Miyazaki-style chilled soup" for ¥210 instead. Inspired by the local cuisine of Amami Oshima, added shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms, made with chicken broth. Can be eaten like ochazuke by just heating it up. 180g, 86kcal, not very delicious. - Pour over rice: Mexican-style chili con carne, ¥280 Inspired by Mexican chili con carne. A spicy sauce made with chickpeas, kidney beans, tomatoes, and spices. 140g, 141kcal, the amount of beans is quite different from the package photo. - Pour over rice: Black pork and barley black vinegar hot and sour soup, ¥290 Inspired by Chinese hot and sour soup. Made with black pork, bamboo shoots, black wood ear mushrooms, and finished with barley black vinegar for a mellow flavor. 150g, 125kcal, the appearance of the eggplant in the package photo is quite different. Overall, they all have a mediocre taste, especially in terms of cost performance. If it's the same retort food, curry seems to be more delicious. - *This is from the blog "Photo version - Gurume Chief's Almost Takatsuki Gourmet Guide". I went to the newly renovated Muji store at Seibu Takatsuki on April 21st. The shelves are higher now and there are more products, especially clothes and miscellaneous goods. The food section has been moved to the back and near the checkout, which surprised me for a moment. They were having a commemorative sale with 10% off certain items until the 25th and 15% off until May 8th, with triple points. I bought retort curry and matcha snacks, but even though there were four checkout counters, there were about 20 people in line. However, I received a free notebook as a renovation commemorative gift, so it was all good. I haven't tried the food yet, so I can't comment on the taste.

I bought some chocolate snacks in March 2017 and decided to try some as a snack one day. Until March 9th, all chocolate snacks were 10% off, so I chose four varieties to purchase. Here are the ones I bought: - Cranberry and Strawberry Chocolate: Originally 200 yen, now 180 yen. Made with cocoa from Papua, Indonesia, this chocolate has a sweet and sour taste. - Milk Crunch Chocolate with Blueberry and Feuilletine: Originally 250 yen, now 225 yen. This chocolate has a crispy texture with added blueberry and feuilletine. - White Chocolate & Cocoa Biscuit: Originally 250 yen, now 225 yen. This chocolate combines white chocolate with cocoa biscuit in bite-sized pieces. - Uji Matcha Chocolate & Cocoa Biscuit: Originally 250 yen, now 225 yen. A combination of matcha chocolate and cocoa biscuit, made with matcha from a historic tea shop in Kyoto. The chocolate biscuit was especially delicious, with a high proportion of chocolate. Although they are bite-sized, I couldn't resist eating them in two bites.

I saw this being featured on TV and decided to buy it a bit late. Cup Ramen Green Curry Flavor for 200 yen (tax included). It is a ramen that does not use chemical seasonings. It has a well-balanced taste of spiciness and richness, with a refreshing lemongrass flavor. The Green Curry Oil that comes with it makes it very spicy when all added, but the soup is delicious. The noodles are normal. Cup Ramen Butter Chicken Curry Flavor for 200 yen. It is also a ramen that does not use chemical seasonings. It has a mild flavor with the acidity of tomatoes and a moderate spiciness. The Butter Chicken Curry Oil that comes with it makes it very spicy when all added, but the soup is delicious. The noodles are normal. It's like Green Curry itself! It was very spicy when all the oil was added! But the soup is delicious. The noodles are normal. It's not like Butter Chicken Curry! But the soup is delicious. You can even drink just the soup. It's very tempting to add white rice to it. I recommend it for a fun conversation topic. Visit the blog "Photo version, Gourmet Chief's Almost Takatsuki Gourmet Guide" for more details. Feel free to take a look. In spring to early summer 2013, from cherry blossoms to bananas. During walks with my husband after his illness, we frequently visit this store. The Seibu Takatsuki store is great for my husband's escalator practice. My husband loves the retort curry here more than the lovingly made "Eat lots of carrots for your health curry" or "Let's eat pumpkin and green peppers while we're at it curry" by his wife. But leaving that aside, what I want to share this time is the sweets I chose. There were various cherry blossom sweets that were interesting. Mini dorayaki with sakura mochi for 158 yen. It has a delicious sakura-flavored mochi and sweet bean paste inside. Sakura Baum for 158 yen. It's sweeter than regular Baumkuchen and deliciously moist. Sakura cream sandwich cookies for 125 yen. This was the most delicious of all. The salty flavor of the sakura leaves is unique and elegant. There were also sakura marshmallows with red bean paste, bite-sized sakura daifuku, and more. I also bought strawberry and matcha sweets. Half-baked strawberry castella for 189 yen. The strawberry flavor is strong. It's not as good as the half-baked castella I received as a souvenir from Kyoto before, but it's still delicious. Red bean paste matcha marshmallows for 210 yen. There were 11 large marshmallows with a hint of red bean paste inside. It might seem a bit little, but the matcha flavor of the marshmallow is mild, so the balance of flavors is good. The above sweets were all grouped in the "Spring Sweets Corner" and there were only a few left. It seems to be a limited-time product. In return, many "new products" have appeared. The main focus is on banana-related products, and Muji's new recommendation is bananas. Of course, I bought some. Half-baked banana castella for 189 yen, similar to the strawberry version. Banana cake for 189 yen. The dough is kneaded with banana sauce, giving it a rich taste. The texture is coarse, giving it a rustic feel. Chocolate-covered banana Baum for 158 yen. The banana flavor is weak in this one. The chocolate also has a cheap feel, reminding me of the disc-shaped "Chocolate Castella" I used to buy at the candy store as a child. There were also banana muffins on display. Personally, I feel that overall, the cherry blossom products outshine the banana ones. I look forward to the next new products. Additionally, I couldn't resist trying the new product: Whole Wheat and Dried Fruit Petit Scones for 189 yen. There were 5 pieces, with cranberries mixed into the light and crispy dough. The scones have a slightly dry texture, but the margarine flavor spreads nicely in the mouth, making it delicious. It's perfect as a snack with tea or hot milk. There were also chocolate and nut petit scones. Usually, the most common thing I buy here is snacks for alcohol, such as dried squid sheets and pickled plums.

On May 1, 2014, I purchased a large bag of Fried Mix Vegetable for ¥420. It contains 90g of pumpkin, potatoes, carrots, and green beans fried in palm oil. The taste of all the vegetables is well preserved, with a mild amount of salt. However, the slight bitterness of the vegetables may divide opinions on whether it is enjoyable as a snack.

I love MUJI snacks and food, I often buy them. Especially snacks♪ My favorites are yogurt raisin chocolate, honey-covered corn, dried plums, strawberry chocolate marshmallow maple cookies, purple sweet potato chips, and tortilla chips. The drinks like coffee, black tea, etc. also have attractive items, and new products come out frequently with the seasons, so I always check them out. The rice dishes are also good because you can easily make them by just adding some extra ingredients. I want to try various things.

One weekend brunch and lunch consisted of a retort curry from MUJI. The "Prawn Masala" is inspired by a seafood curry from South India, bringing out the richness of coconut and the aroma of spices along with the deliciousness of shrimp. I sprinkled my favorite spice, "Kasmeriti," on top. I even paired the curry with beer in the middle of the day. Alongside, my husband made a "Potato Salad with Edamame and Sweet Corn" the day before. The tender shrimp and crunchy bamboo shoots are mixed in the mild coconut curry. It was like enjoying curry with a high-quality taste you would find in a restaurant. Bon appétit!

On a certain weekend, our family's go-to breakfast and lunch is our favorite retort curry. This time, I had the "Prawn Masala" while my husband had the "Gaeng Phed." The "Gaeng Phed" is a curry from the northeastern region of Thailand, made with forest mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and other forest blessings, along with the flavor of chicken. As for my "Prawn Masala," it features the richness of prawns, creamy coconut milk, and the fragrance of curry leaves, inspired by a seafood curry from South India. We topped each curry with homemade tartar sauce leftover from last night's chicken cutlet, adding a mild and flavorful touch. The two types of pickles served as a nice accent. Once again, we enjoyed a satisfying curry experience. Thank you for the meal.

One weekend breakfast and lunch at our house has become a regular retort curry from Muji's product. I tried the "Prawn Moilee" for the first time, sprinkled with my favorite spice "Kasmeriti". It is a curry based on a seafood curry from South India, known for the umami of shrimp, the acidity of lemon, and the fragrant flavor of mustard seeds. My husband had the sweet and spicy Thai curry "Massaman". He loves shrimp and coconut milk, so he was excited about the taste he likes. Muji's curry still has many hidden varieties. Thank you for the meal.

One weekend's breakfast and lunch at home became our staple retort curry from MUJI. This time, both my husband and I had "Massaman Curry". Personally, I like this type more than the most popular "Butter Chicken". I sprinkled my favorite spice "Kasmeriti" on top, and also served two types of pickles. The Thai curry with large potatoes, tender chicken, and a sweet and spicy coconut flavor that becomes addictive. I never imagined MUJI curry would become something my husband keeps buying. Thank you for the meal.

The lunch for a hangover day started with ramen, and for dinner, we tried a retort curry from MUJI for the first time. My husband had the "Butter Chicken Curry" and I had the "Massaman Curry", both of which are our favorite repeat curries. Delicious. I want to graduate from heavy drinking soon, but I know I'll probably do it again. Thank you for the meal.

One weekend's breakfast and lunch consisted of retort curry from MUJI that I recently stocked up on. My husband had the "Keema Curry," made with minced meat flavored with garlic and ginger, and finished with garam masala for a fragrant touch. It's said to be based on North Indian Keema Curry. I had the "Ginger Dry Keema Curry," which uses 13 types of spices including cloves and ginger to bring out the flavor of beef mince without using spicy chili peppers. It's recommended for those who are not fond of spiciness or for children. I enjoyed mine with rice, pickled vegetables, and a side of Kasuri Methi. MUJI's retort curry tastes just like what you would get at a restaurant, and so far, I haven't had a disappointing experience with any of the varieties. My favorite so far is the Massaman, but there are still many other types I have yet to try, so I look forward to exploring more. Thank you for the meal.

On the last day of the long weekend, we had breakfast and lunch with retort curry from MUJI once again. My husband seems to really like MUJI's curry as we keep buying it repeatedly. He had the "Spicy Chicken" while I had the "Prawn Masala". The Prawn Masala is a creamy coconut curry with shrimp and bamboo shoots, inspired by a seafood curry from South India. It's medium spicy, but the creaminess overpowers the spiciness, making it very gentle. I enjoyed the combination of shrimp and bamboo shoots, two ingredients I love. I added Kasuri Methi and two types of miso pickles to enhance the flavors. I look forward to trying more of MUJI's curry in the future. It was a delicious meal.

On a certain holiday, I had breakfast and lunch combined with a retort curry from MUJI once again. This time, it was served with naan, salad, and a lassi-style yogurt drink. The naan was store-bought and heated in a frying pan, then spread with butter. Each had their choice of dressing for the salad. My husband had the "Spicy Chicken Curry" and I had the "Massaman Curry". According to the official website, the Massaman Curry is a Thai curry with the richness of peanuts and the umami of chicken. It utilizes spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, along with the sweetness of coconut milk, to create a rich and mild flavor. I have had Massaman Curry from restaurants before, and MUJI's version was also very delicious. The potatoes and chicken were in large, chunky pieces, making it my favorite MUJI curry so far. Will our journey with MUJI curry continue in the future? Thank you for the meal.

Muji's retort curry has been frequently featured on TV for its rich lineup and high quality, so I had been curious about it for a while. It seems my husband was too, as we ended up with 4 bags at home. On a certain holiday morning, we decided to have our first taste of "Muji Curry" for breakfast and lunch. I chose the "Kari Ayam (¥490)", a Malaysian simmered dish known for its mildness and spiciness. It combines coconut cream with the acidity of tomatoes, resulting in a refreshing flavor. I added a bit of "Garam Masala" and "Kasuri Methi" that we had at home. It was a creamy and flavorful curry with tender chicken and potatoes. Despite the coconut cream, it didn't have the sweetness or distinct taste like Thai curry. My husband went for the popular No. 1 choice, "Butter Chicken Curry (¥350)". I had a taste and it truly lived up to its reputation. According to the official website, it uses three types of tomatoes to enhance the acidity and sweetness, finishing it off smoothly with ghee and cashew nuts. The aroma of Kasuri Methi is present. It turns out that Kasuri Methi, which I added to my Kari Ayam, is a key spice in the Butter Chicken. The recent renewal increased the number of tomato varieties from 2 to 3, adding a well-balanced tomato with umami to the existing acidic and sweet ones. They also increased the amount of chicken and enhanced the rich flavor with the aroma of spices. Looks like our journey through the various types of Muji Curry will continue.
