Today, I decided to have ramen for the first time in a while. Even though it's only been 3 days (^ ^) I usually have tonkotsu ramen, so I wanted to try a different kind of ramen for a change. I had been curious about "Menya Issei," a ramen shop that specializes in soy sauce and miso ramen. After some deliberation, I ordered the thick soy sauce ramen. When it arrived, I was surprised to find that the soup was thick like Chinese cuisine! The hot soup coated the noodles perfectly, and despite being very hot, I enjoyed it while blowing on it. I usually get an extra serving of noodles, but the soup was so delicious that I finished it before I could even think about getting more noodles! I highly recommend it for those who enjoy thick and creamy ramen (^ ^)

I went a little north from Ohori Park and headed towards Nanno Tsu Street. After eating reasonably well at a yakitori restaurant, I was craving some ramen to finish off the meal. I decided to try "Menya Issei," a place I had never been to before. The sign outside listed soy sauce, salt, and miso ramen, so I ordered the soy sauce ramen priced at 720 yen. When the soy sauce ramen arrived, I noticed that the color was different from what I expected. Upon closer inspection of the menu, I realized that all the ramen options were based on tonkotsu broth. No wonder it had that kind of look. The soup was slightly cloudy, resembling more of a "soy sauce tonkotsu" than a traditional soy sauce ramen. Personally, I didn't feel like I was eating soy sauce ramen because the soy sauce flavor wasn't prominent. The chashu was decent, but the noodles were thicker than the usual thin noodles in tonkotsu ramen. The soup was a bit too rich for my liking, and I couldn't finish the bowl. This was my first time trying this place, and unfortunately, the tonkotsu base didn't meet my expectations, leaving me somewhat dissatisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Hakata Ramen, Salt Ramen, Soy Sauce Ramen, Miso Ramen♪ All based on pork bone broth, but each ramen has its own unique flavor. Lately, I've been hooked on Miso Ramen, so I remembered there was a place that serves it and decided to go. This place has been around since there were few places in Fukuoka offering Soy Sauce Ramen or Miso Ramen. It is located near Ohori Park Station and Minato Ginza. They have counter seats and table seats. The interior, although a bit aged, has a calm atmosphere with a black color scheme. On the table, you'll find red pickled ginger, salt, pepper, and shichimi. Spicy pickled mustard greens are available for an extra charge (100 yen), but there is no sesame. Hakata ramen is 550 yen with an extra noodle refill for 120 yen. In addition to Salt, Miso, and Soy Sauce ramen, they also offer spicy variations, black garlic oil, salt lemon, and thick soy sauce. Miso ramen is 650 yen. I added a seasoned egg for 120 yen from the topping menu. The soup has a characteristic mildness and sweetness of white miso. Therefore, it has a unique taste compared to Sapporo Ramen. Personally, I really enjoyed the Miso Ramen. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles. I think Hakata ramen had thinner noodles. The well-seasoned chashu was also delicious. During lunchtime, they offer set menus with fried rice or dumplings, but this time I tried the "Chef's Meal" for 200 yen, which was displayed on the wall. It consisted of white rice topped with bonito flakes, green onions, radish sprouts, shredded chashu, and mayonnaise. It was a simple yet delicious "home-cooked meal." From the creative menu, I tried the "Thick Soy Sauce Ramen" for 750 yen. It has a light pork bone soy sauce base but with a thick consistency that is surprisingly addictive and easy to swallow. It warms you up with its easy-to-drink soup. This menu, like the Miso Ramen, became a personal favorite for me! Thank you for the meal♪ [Shop Name] Menya Issei [Address] 1-8-5 Arato, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka [Hours] 11:30-14:00, 17:30 until soup runs out *Please confirm [Closed] Monday night, Tuesday, 1st Sunday of the month *Please confirm *5 minutes walk from Subway Ohori Park Station. 1 minute walk from Nishitetsu Bus Arato Nitchome stop. 2-3 minutes walk from Nishitetsu Bus Minato Nitchome/Minato Ginza-dori stop. I had been curious about this restaurant but never had the chance to go. I got off the bus on my way to help my son move and decided to stop by. I ordered the thick soy sauce ramen, regular soy sauce ramen, and miso ramen. The base was pork bone soup and it was delicious. The fried rice was lightly seasoned and complemented the ramen well. Everything was great. The miso ramen had a rich and addictive flavor. If I have the chance, I would love to try the thick soy sauce ramen again.

I visited during lunchtime. The restaurant was spacious, but run by just one person. There were many types of ramen to choose from, and I ended up deciding on the soy sauce ramen that was listed first. The restaurant was busy, but my ramen arrived quickly. The soy sauce ramen was actually a tonkotsu-based ramen, and the curly noodles were to my liking!

Today for lunch, I was in the mood for ramen, so I headed to this place! I've been here a few times before... While it's not uncommon in Hakata, they offer a wide variety of ramen types like shoyu, miso, shio, and Hakata ramen! The interior has a counter with 4 seats and 5 tables... It seems like the owner is handling everything alone, so it can get a bit hectic during busy times... Now, as always, let's decide on the soup for today...! - Miso ramen (650 yen) - Half fried rice (250 yen) * Lunchtime prices start from 350 yen with a 100 yen discount First, the soup! It's a mild and gentle type of miso flavor! It's not just miso alone, but maybe there's also pork bone in it? There are bits of miso at the bottom of the soup... I love it... haha. A Japanese-style taste that goes well with a sprinkle of ichimi togarashi... It has a calming flavor... It pairs well with the slightly curly and chewy noodles! The noodles have a firm taste that doesn't lose to the miso flavor. The toppings include chashu, bean sprouts, and green onions, keeping it simple. The chashu is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and it would go well with the pork bone broth! The set's half fried rice... It's seasoned with salt and pepper, and the rice is on the moist side... But it seems like it's been pan-fried? Or maybe it's cooked in a rice cooker... The fried texture is a bit light...? Personally, it gives off a different vibe than what I expected from fried rice... Looking at the menu, it seems like the "black ramen" is making a comeback... Maybe with black garlic oil? I personally love that type of ramen! Next time, I might try the revived black ramen. Thanks for the meal!

I ordered soy sauce ramen and rice for lunch! The food arrived shortly, and the pork bone flavor seemed to overpower the soy sauce ramen. The rice for an additional 150 yen didn't seem worth it. The ramen itself was mediocre and felt like something I could make at home. It was more like soy sauce pork bone ramen than just soy sauce ramen! Well, that's just my personal opinion. Thank you for the meal!

Ramen shop near West Park. They specialize in soy sauce ramen and miso ramen, not tonkotsu ramen. I felt like having soy sauce ramen, so I decided to go in. I was planning to order the basic soy sauce ramen, but I noticed they had a "Thick Soy Sauce Ramen" on the menu. I was intrigued, so I ordered that along with a half portion of fried rice. The Thick Soy Sauce Ramen had a nice thickness and a good balance of saltiness, with a rich soy sauce flavor. The soup was hot, perfect for a cold day. The noodles paired well with it. The fried rice was average. Overall, it was a decent restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

It seems like a shop that serves three types of soup: miso, soy sauce, and tonkotsu. When I entered, there were quite a few people inside. Surprising. Since there was a group, I quickly took a seat at the counter. I ordered the miso flavor today. I chose miso butter as a topping. After a short wait, a delicious-looking ramen arrived. The noodles were surprisingly thin, allowing the miso flavor to seep in well. It's delicious. The char siu was lightly seared and very tasty!

I think the basic is soy sauce ramen, but there are also salt ramen, miso ramen, and Hakata ramen, so it feels like all types of ramen are available. There are also creative types of ramen. Lemon ramen, unfortunately, was not to my liking as it had a strange sourness that seemed to inhibit the umami flavor. The texture of the noodles was not bad, but I would have preferred thicker noodles. Overall, I had high expectations but it was just okay. Thank you for the meal.

I don't usually come near Ohori Park for lunch, but by chance, I had to go there for work and when I searched for a ramen shop for lunch, this place came up so I decided to have lunch here. They had soy sauce, salt, and miso ramen, but I was in the mood for soy sauce that day, so I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 600 yen. The soy sauce ramen arrived pretty quickly with two slices of pork belly chashu on top and some toppings scattered around, it was not the typical soy sauce ramen I had imagined, but a unique one. The soup was not the usual creamy tonkotsu ramen broth, but a clear broth that was not oily, and had a light flavor, quite different from the usual soy sauce ramen. The noodles were straight noodles, not as thin as tonkotsu ramen noodles, but not thick either. Although it was a bit different from my usual preference for soy sauce ramen, I thought it was interesting. I don't come to this area for lunch often, so it might be difficult to have another chance to eat here, but I hope to come back again in the future.

This is a restaurant in Fukuoka that serves a rare miso ramen. It has a slightly salty taste, but it is quite delicious. I will try the soy sauce ramen next time.
