New Hamaya Kawamachi Store @ Honmachi / Yakiniku set meal (Toridabu) I have finally finished preparing for my new job starting in February, and I can finally take a breath of relief. But now that I've relaxed, I realize I'm hungry... (like the Lonely Gourmet, haha) For lunch today, I decided to try New Hamaya, a place I had seen on a certain video site before. There are stores in both Honmachi and the neighboring Yodoyabashi, but this time I headed to the Honmachi store. Oh, it's really close to the soup restaurant I visited the other day! Anyway, I arrived at the store around 1:30 pm, and there were no waiting customers, so I was able to enter immediately. This place operates on a pre-payment system where you pay at the entrance before ordering. The menu offers only one option, the yakiniku set meal. You just choose the size and pay at the counter. Most customers here seem to order the "Dabudabu," but I wanted something hearty, so I ordered the "Toridabu." I received a plastic tag and was directed to my designated seat. The seat already had a rice bowl set up, and the server quickly brought a pot of white rice. Here, you serve yourself rice from the pot. The teppanyaki grill already had the yakiniku and rolled omelette prepared. The yakiniku was reheated and seasoned before serving. The miso soup was red miso. The yakiniku was finely chopped and easy to eat. It was seasoned with a garlic-infused soy sauce, not the sweet flavor I had imagined like ginger pork, but it complemented the rice well. The rolled omelette was plain, so eating it with the meat helped reduce the saltiness of the soy sauce, which was nice. The rice was cooked slightly soft. It wasn't bad, but personally, I prefer it a bit firmer to go with the side dishes. Well, that's just personal preference. The rice in the pot seemed like it wouldn't be enough at first, but surprisingly, I managed to portion it out just right. Ah, I see now. Is this what the businessmen in the Honmachi area eat to fuel themselves for the afternoon? I understand!! I'll definitely come back here. Next time, I'll order the triple set.

Today's lunch was at New Hamaya in Naka-ku Kawaramachi. I ordered the Toridabu set for 1,300 yen. You can have unlimited rice refills, so I am very full. The seasoning is simple but it really stimulates the appetite, so I ended up eating meat-rice-egg-rice, and then meat-rice-egg-rice, forever. It was delicious after a long time.

I finally visited a restaurant I've been wanting to go to. There was already a line, but the turnover of customers was fast so I was able to get in quickly. I was indecisive about the quantity, but I ordered the "Tridouble," which means triple the meat and double the eggs. The rice was served in a traditional wooden rice container and was all-you-can-eat. There were fewer eggs than I expected, but the meat was quite salty and flavorful. The strong flavors of the meat and soy sauce were complemented by the sweetness of the rice. The rice went down smoothly and was delicious! I ate too much and ended up with a full belly. I couldn't get any work done in the afternoon!

Lunchtime today, I was really hungry so I had a bento box meal (laughs). It was so delicious that I ended up eating too much!! Normally, it's a bit loose-fitting, but today... doesn't this rice look delicious? The daily lunch special is 1200 yen, and the shrimp fry and hamburger are also delicious, along with the bento box rice. But once again, the lunch cost over 1000 yen. Yes, this dish is addictive! I usually get it with double meat, but this time I went all out and got triple meat. Regular customers probably already know about it, but the rice is bottomless. Once you try this dish, you won't be able to stop eating! I wish I could recreate this taste at home.

I was able to easily find a seat since I arrived at 11:20. By 11:45, there was already a bit of a line forming. It's definitely a popular spot. I decided to try the mixed set meal. It came with 100g of grilled meat and stir-fried squid with egg. Both dishes were well-seasoned, making the rice very enjoyable. Perhaps because of this, the miso soup and pickles were a bit milder in flavor. The rice served in a wooden rice container is all-you-can-eat and of high quality. This place is perfect for those who want to eat a hearty meal.

First visit! I ordered the "dabudabu" dish. I added two extra eggs midway through, and it was quick, cheap, and delicious! This place is truly amazing! The rice is served in a pot and is all-you-can-eat, making it a great value. Personally, what I liked the most was the Fukujinzuke that was flavorful without overpowering the taste of the meat. [Personal recommendations] - The more eggs, the better - If you want a hearty meal, increase the amount of meat - Mixing Fukujinzuke with the meat is the best way to eat it. I highly recommend revisiting this place!

Lunch today was at the original Western-style restaurant, which I haven't been to in a long time. The food here is delicious! The menu displayed outside looks like this. The miso soup has a unique taste, but it's also delicious. I had the "Dub Dub" set for 1000 yen, which includes garlic soy sauce seasoned grilled pork and margarine-cooked rolled omelette. I went to a training nearby and saw a long line, so I decided to line up as well. It seemed like mostly men were in line (lol). I only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. It seemed like we had to pay upfront. As soon as I sat down, miso soup was brought to me, followed by a serving of rice in a wooden bowl. Even though I was dining alone, the rice was served in a large wooden bowl! After serving myself some rice, the main dish, called "Dabudabu," arrived. Despite its name, the portion wasn't that big. The miso soup was quite ordinary, with only green onions for flavor. The meat itself was probably not of high quality (lol). It was thinly sliced, making it easy to chew. It was seasoned with a generous amount of salt and pepper, with a slightly sweet and savory taste. I mixed it with the scrambled eggs and found it to be a unique and appetizing flavor. There was also "Fukujinzuke" (pickled vegetables), so in the end, I ended up eating about 2.5 bowls of rice (*´艸`).

Before coming to Osaka, I searched online and found a place that seemed good and famous, but most of my coworkers didn't know about it. It looked a bit junky, but I thought I would like it, so I visited it as a preview before my kids came to play. Even though I had a drinking party at night, I ended up chasing a good deal and got the 1500 yen Super Triple (300g of meat with 1 egg). The portion was sufficient. The meat was chopped into small pieces, so it wasn't the best quality meat, but the junky seasoning and the balance with the egg were good. The double egg definitely seemed to have a good balance. Well, I might go to another restaurant with the kids since our stay isn't that long.

It's gotten more expensive. When you go to New Hamaya, you get that feeling. Compared to before, even ordering the same Triple, the amount of meat and the volume of the tamagoyaki have decreased significantly, which is disappointing (´・ω・`) It's delicious, but the decrease in service is... If that's the case, I'd prefer they raise the price while keeping the same volume. By the way, the Triple in the photo costs 1300 yen.

I entered the restaurant at 11:30 on a weekday. I ordered, paid, and sat down. Then the rice came right away. I couldn't eat this much. It would have been nice if they asked me first. Then came the meat. It was delicious. It was really good, but maybe I built up too much of an image in my head? The staff were efficient from start to finish, which left a good impression. I finished eating in 10 minutes and left. Thank you for the meal.

This is a famous restaurant in the Solo Honmachi and Yodoyabashi area, known for being at the forefront of the lunch battle. As soon as it opens, businessmen rush in, devouring meat, eggs, and rice before heading back to the battlefield. The sight of heaps of meat and eggs on the teppan grill in the kitchen may not look delicious, but when you try it, you'll think "I see." It's just average. There is value in warriors sharing this mountain of meat in the heart of this business district. Dining here is not a break but being in the midst of a businessman's battle. It seems like this place is not suitable for me... Thank you for the meal♪

I entered the restaurant during the daytime on a regular weekday. Since it's located in an office district, I thought there would be a line after 12 o'clock, so I arrived around 11:45 and there were already about 5 groups waiting in line. However, I didn't have to wait long, and I was seated in the restaurant in about 5 minutes. I placed my order and paid before I arrived. Once seated, the rice and miso soup arrived in 15 seconds, and the main dish arrived in 30 seconds. It was so fast! The meat had a rich flavor which paired well with the rice. The egg was not seasoned, which helped balance out the strong flavor of the grilled meat. The portion size was also sufficient. I finished eating and left the restaurant 15 minutes after entering. It was over in a flash!

Today was a business trip to Osaka. I arrived early, so I finished work at the hotel until the last minute of check-out, and now it's lunchtime. I was wandering around Honmachi area wondering what to eat when I saw a restaurant called New Hamaya that was bustling. It's a yakiniku set meal restaurant! I arrived at the restaurant around 11 am on a weekday. There was no line, so I entered smoothly. It's a prepayment system, so I paid first. I ordered the "Dabudabu" yakiniku set meal for ¥1,000. They didn't have it, but it seems like the "Single" is 50g of yakiniku. Dabudabu is 100g of yakiniku with 2 pieces of tamagoyaki, Triple is 150g of yakiniku with 1 piece of tamagoyaki, and Tridabu is inexplicably 180g of yakiniku with 2 pieces of tamagoyaki. Super Triple is 300g of yakiniku with 1 piece of tamagoyaki... it's a bit confusing. I thought, why not just have the Single be 100g, Double 200g, and Triple 300g? I paid, and was seated at a counter seat that was available, and as soon as I sat down, the oshibako and miso soup arrived. And then the Dabudabu was served. The amount of rice in the oshibako... it's a lot! So, I dug in! I scooped the rice from the oshibako into the rice bowl and started eating. First, I tried a bite of the yakiniku. It was sweet and savory... this goes really well with rice. The tamagoyaki didn't have much flavor. When I tried putting Tabasco sauce on the yakiniku from the tabletop, it was a great idea! It was so delicious. Even a small amount of it made the rice go down so easily. I deducted some points because the rice was a bit too soft for my liking. And with Dabudabu, the amount of rice in the oshibako and the amount of side dishes didn't match. There was too much rice, and I ate too much. I'm worried I might get sleepy during the afternoon meeting... Thank you for the meal!

In front of my workplace, there was a restaurant that I had been avoiding for 10 years. My visit after a decade was for a quick lunch with a handsome sales guy. Even though it was past 11 o'clock, the restaurant was almost full. It seems like everyone loves this place, right? I ordered their signature dish, the "Dub Dub" for 1,000 yen. This dish includes grilled meat and egg omelette, hence the name "double". The price has increased over the years, from 850 yen to 800 yen and now 1,000 yen. The meal still comes with a bowl of rice and miso soup. However, when the main dish arrived, I was shocked by how little food was on the plate! It was significantly smaller than before. The portion size has decreased to the point where it's almost like a complaint. The quality of the meat and eggs may have gone up in price, but the amount served has decreased drastically. The portion now feels like only 40% of what it used to be. The miso soup was also less flavorful than before. The only saving grace was the tasty rice. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my meal. The restaurant had closed for a while after the original owner passed away. It seems like the current management has a different approach to running the business. I, as someone who remembers the past, cannot accept this drastic reduction in portion size. I doubt I will ever return to this place again. I quickly paid using PayPay (pre-payment) and left. I visited this restaurant today because there is always a line and I've been wanting to go. I waited for a few minutes before being seated. I was unsure what to order, so I went with the recommended dish, "dabudabu". It arrived quickly after I sat down. Hmm, I'm not sure what the hype is about. I don't understand why people line up for this. The portion size and taste were just okay. I wish someone could explain to me why others were willing to wait in line for this.

During my time working in Osaka, I used to frequent New Hamaya often because it was close to the office and I was young and had a big appetite. This visit was my first in about 15 years. When you think of New Hamaya, the "dabudabu" and "triple" yakiniku set meals are the classics, but this time I ordered the "mix" which is a dish where eggs are mixed with butter-grilled squid. The aroma of butter is very appetizing. The yakiniku was flavored with garlic sauce, making it a great match with rice. Here, rice is served in a wooden tub and is all-you-can-eat. However, this time the rice was disappointingly mushy. Even though it was served in a wooden tub with sawara fish, it had absorbed too much moisture and became soggy. Nevertheless, I ended up having two servings of the generously portioned rice. Adding Tabasco sauce for a different flavor, in the past I would have finished the entire tub of rice, but now that's just not possible anymore. Thank you for the meal.

This is my first visit to a restaurant that I had seen briefly on Tabelog and was curious about. I'm not sure what "dabudabu" means... When I arrived, I was greeted and went straight to the counter to pay. I sat down at the counter and noticed that there were only male customers. Eggs were being cooked on a large iron plate. The meat seemed to have been cooked in advance as it was quickly served. The rice was served in a wooden rice container. The flavor was on the rich side and the rice was quite tasty. I added a little Tabasco for extra flavor. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Just be careful of the splashing water from washing dishes at the counter.
