I went to "Nishino Tatsu" after a long time. Black pork meatball hot pot for 3500 yen, bottled beer for 800 yen x 2, and Wakasa special selection for 800 yen. It's been a while since I've had it, but the hot pot here is really delicious. I've tried it in Kansai and Ryogoku, but this place is my favorite. The meatballs and black pork are exquisite! The noodles are thick like houtou noodles and delicious. The atmosphere where you can relax in a private room is also nice. However, the alcohol is a bit expensive.

The restaurant "Chanko Nishinoryu" serves a delicious hot pot with a strong garlic flavor that stimulates the appetite. We ordered two servings, and the thick, long noodles were very satisfying. The minced pork meatballs with cartilage were also delicious.

If you want to eat chanko-nabe, this is the place to go! The portion size is huge and you will definitely be satisfied. The prices are a bit high, but worth it. They serve fresh sashimi and whale meat, and they also have dishes like shrimp tempura that are perfect for families. The tables are nice, but the tatami rooms are also very calming. Definitely give it a try!

It is close to both Namba Station and Nipponbashi Station. It seems that you can also have banquets on the second floor of the shop. Both Mr. Nishino and the female owner were very friendly. I heard sumo stories at the shop. Their son also switched from track and field to sumo. It is said that the current Ikuyo Kuruyo master also frequented this shop. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the ingredients is different. Those who understand taste will appreciate the value. It was very delicious.

Chan-chan Nabe restaurant near Namba Station and Nipponbashi Station. My friend invited me saying, "It's delicious!" so I went together. Chan-chan Nabe costs 3,500 yen per person. Seafood is market price. Hmm, I can't quite imagine... Should I ask about the market price? But it felt a bit stingy to ask, so I didn't! Haha We ordered two servings of Chan-chan Nabe and bonito sashimi. The appetizer was clams. The bonito sashimi came in a big plate. Each piece was thick and delicious!!! The Chan-chan Nabe had a rich and flavorful broth, so tasty! The pork and meatballs were delicious!!! And the jumbo-sized noodles for the finish were a surprise!! It's not often that I find a hot pot this delicious. However, the price was quite something! Haha The atmosphere was casual or rather old-fashioned, so entering based on atmosphere alone might lead to a surprise! But it was delicious! Bon appétit!!!

The seasoning is probably miso butter? (Sorry, I have no sense of taste) It tasted great! Lots of garlic, so the next day was tough, but I want to go again. I tried the bonito sashimi recommended by the owner, and it was amazing! It's completely different from the bonito sold in supermarkets (obviously). If I have the chance, I would like to visit this restaurant again.

This year, it has gotten quite cold, almost as if it's not a mild winter. In such a season, hot pot is a must! So, I went to "Nishinotatsu" near Nipponbashi Station on the Sen'nichimae Line. I had the chicken meatball hot pot. The crunchy meatballs went really well with the soup! For the finishing touch, I had some kishimen noodles! My stomach is full and warm now. The second floor has tatami seating, making it perfect for parties.

Overall, the portion size of the chanko nabe is not too big for one person. The flavor is delicious with a strong taste of garlic.

It costs around 8000 yen for one person. The taste is not bad, but it doesn't match the price.

This restaurant is located in Kawachiya~ I did some research by checking on Tabelog and reading reviews from My Reviewers before deciding to visit. It was a small group of 24 people. We ordered the 7,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink. When all 24 of us entered, there was no space left on the table to place the dishes. The sashimi platter was impressive, especially the tuna belly. The chicken Karaage was delicious. I love this kind of seasoned Karaage. The meat-wrapped egg? It had plenty of beef and a flavorful broth. The Chanko Nabe was good, but I wish we could have enjoyed it slowly in a smaller group. The soup was rich and tasty, and the ingredients were good. The staff at the Osaka branch were a bit busy, and I didn't get to try most of the dishes. The manager himself took care of us, but the younger staff seemed unenthusiastic. I wonder if this is the same everywhere. I am usually in charge of the parties, so it's not a problem for me, but I hope the younger staff will become more proactive in the future. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

"Nishino Ryu" is led by former sumo wrestler "Tsune no Yama". Here, you can enjoy authentic "chanko" cuisine, which is a general term for the dishes eaten in sumo stables. The dishes served here include sashimi, fried chicken, chicken wings, etc., all served generously. Truly a feast of "chanko" cuisine! The highlight is definitely the "chanko nabe" hot pot! Every time I visit, a different delicious "chanko nabe" seems to appear, with a rich chicken broth and truly delicious flavor. The noodles served at the end are also unique. Handmade, flat udon noodles about 5cm wide are served. They are very satisfying! If you eat Nishino Ryu's food every day, you might end up looking like a sumo wrestler haha. I think it's the best chanko restaurant! I saw some reviews where people were surprised by the bill amount, so it's better to communicate your budget beforehand! Thank you for the meal! (^O^)/~~seeyou!

Many people are familiar with this restaurant, a chanko-nabe restaurant facing Chindayasuji. Chanko-nabe restaurants are often opened by former sumo wrestlers, and this place is no exception. The interior of the restaurant has table seating in the front and several private tatami rooms in the back. Each private room has a name, and our room this time was called "Juryo." It's a nice and calming room. The chanko-nabe is priced at 2500 yen per serving. The appetizer for the day was a hot spring egg. The broth of the chanko-nabe is made by simmering chicken bones slowly in a soup with plenty of finely chopped onions. The green onions were not just used as a garnish, but were directly added to the pot. Before adding the ingredients, I took a taste... surprisingly not too heavy. The sweetness of the onions comes through and it's delicious. There were tsukune meatballs, but no sumire fish balls. It's a chanko-nabe mainly focused on meat. It includes duck and pork. There were also several side menu options, so we ordered a few. When we asked the female staff member who was serving our room for recommendations, she suggested the "charcoal-grilled local chicken" priced at 2500 yen, so we ordered that too. It came out on a hot plate, with one whole bone-in thigh. As expected for this price, the portion was quite generous. Overall, the prices may seem high, but considering the quality, quantity, and the atmosphere of this restaurant, I think it's reasonable. If you go with a group of 4 to 8 people and order a variety of dishes, it will be a good deal.

Nostalgic and adorable members, it was a surprise outing with three people. It was an unusual Sunday for me, as we were going to watch sumo at the Nagoya tournament. My friend, a die-hard sumo fan, came all the way from Tokyo to Osaka just to watch the tournament. We received a "Tohoku Reconstruction Badge" souvenir from the Sumo Association (thank you!). Now, back to this restaurant after a long time. Let's tackle the dishes together. The assorted sashimi platter was amazing. Uni from Hakodate served on a boat - rich and flavorful, tasted great with seaweed and salt. Toro, maguro, engawa - each sashimi had its own delicious taste. The Miyazaki black pork miso-grilled dish with corn and bean sprouts was a hearty and satisfying meat dish. The tsukune-filled chanko-nabe (priced at 3500 yen per person) was a highlight. The tsukune with cartilage had a great texture and paired well with the simple soy sauce-based broth. The chicken, pork, and tempura were all delicious. Finally, we ended the meal with the restaurant's famous 5cm-wide udon noodles. We were full and satisfied. It was a bit pricey though - over 25,000 yen for three people, with each person paying over 8,000 yen. The high price was due to the expensive sashimi and the pricey drinks. Overall, the taste was top-notch, the atmosphere was great, but the price was a bit on the higher side. Anyway, it was a great meal!

On March 18th (Sunday) in the early afternoon, I received a message from someone that made me happy! It was from someone unexpected, asking if I was free at night. Turns out they were in Kansai to watch sumo wrestling from Tokyo, and they wanted to have chanko nabe for dinner. It was a nice surprise to have dinner with them and the person who introduced us. We had a sashimi platter with uni, toro, katsuo, and tai. The uni was especially delicious when wrapped in seaweed. The slices were large and satisfying. The bill ended up being higher than expected, probably due to the sashimi. We also had black pork miso yaki, which was okay. The chanko nabe with tsukune was good, with a mix of ingredients like chicken, pork, fried tofu, vegetables, and thick udon noodles at the end. I had two drinks, while the others had a few. The total bill was around ¥25,000, higher than we anticipated. It was a bit of a shock, but overall, it was a good meal.

Nishino Ryu is a popular restaurant located near Namba Big Camera, with convenient parking available for both cars and trains. The reviewer, who has visited the restaurant dozens of times, highly recommends the chanoko nabe with tsukune (meatballs) for 3,500 yen per serving. The tsukune is made with cartilage, giving it a crunchy texture. On this particular visit, the reviewer went with two friends and ordered two servings of the chanoko nabe, two beers, and one oolong tea. They also wanted to try the horse sashimi platter, but one of the friends was a horseback riding enthusiast and objected to eating horse meat. As a result, they had to skip the horse sashimi. The reviewer then explains how to enjoy the meal, including grinding sesame seeds, adding ingredients to the hot pot, and finishing with udon noodles. They also recommend finishing the meal with okayu (rice porridge) for a satisfying end. The reviewer also shares some tips, such as reserving a private room for a more intimate dining experience and making reservations in advance, especially during the winter when the hot pot can sell out quickly. Overall, they had a great dining experience at Nishino Ryu and reminisced about another favorite restaurant in Kobe.

9 people attended a year-end party. Our generation still prefers hot pot for winter gatherings. This time, we chose Chanoko hot pot and decided to rely on Nishino Tatsuya for the location and other conditions. The place is located between Namba and Nihonbashi, closer to Nihonbashi. It faces the Sennichimae Street, making it easy to find. The interior and atmosphere are typical of a Chanoko hot pot restaurant, with a casual and popular vibe. There are small partitions, but it can't be considered private rooms. The taste of the Chanoko hot pot is average. If you find it too bland, ask for yuzu kosho. It would have been nice if it was provided at the table. The horse sashimi, sashimi platter, and charcoal-grilled local chicken are above average. However, the soy sauce is sweet and typical of Kyushu style, which may divide opinions. The owner is from Kagoshima, so it's understandable. I don't mind the sweet soy sauce. The selection of shochu and other drinks is extensive. If you consult the owner, they may offer rare shochu. We stayed for about 3 hours and were satisfied. However, the bill exceeded 120,000 yen for 9 people. I've been to many Chanoko restaurants, but this is an exorbitant price. In our group, men pay twice as much as women, so men ended up paying over 15,000 yen each. I was speechless... I should have just gone to "Tsune no Yama" nearby. At "Tsune no Yama," the price would have been about half of this. The cost performance is terrible. We left feeling cold and disappointed on our way home.

I heard that it is a branch of an established chanko-nabe restaurant in Senri before, and went to eat at Sumo Cuisine Nishinoryu. It seems that the traditional chanko-nabe restaurant is closed in the summer, but Nishinoryu is open all year round. The menu mainly consists of horse sashimi and chanko-nabe, with a few other side dishes. I thought the cost performance was a bit high, but the horse sashimi and chanko-nabe were quite delicious. I wish they would put more effort into the variety and prices of drinks. I plan to visit again during the hot pot season.
