Today, I want to introduce a perfect restaurant for this season, ideal for year-end and New Year parties! Check it out!
Next to Shinsaibashi, Nishiohashi
Today's restaurant is Totoro at Nishiohashi Station, right next to Shinsaibashi! The name comes from the fact that the owner loves Totoro! The interior has a counter, 2 tables, and 3 tatami rooms, making it a cozy and homely place! But don't be deceived by appearances! Here, you can enjoy the most luxurious hot pot in Western Japan! It's called the Anko liver hot pot, and just the name itself sounds amazing! Anko liver lovers will be thrilled! This time, we tried the year-end and New Year party pack for 4,900 yen, which includes Hiroshima oyster dishes! Let's go!
They also have various other menu items, like horse meat, which is quite good! They are also confident about their local sake! Sounds good!
Appetizers! Ham and salmon roe soy sauce pickles! The salmon roe is so plump and crunchy, giving a delightful texture! Three types of oyster dishes! You can choose from the following 3 types of oyster dishes:
- "Kaki Tosazu" with a ginger flavor
- "Kaki Ponzu" with maple radish as an accent
- "Kaki Wasa" with a hint of wasabi
Since there were 3 of us, we each got to choose one! Tempura oysters and fried oysters! A generous serving of large oysters! So luxurious! The tempura is refreshing with sudachi, while the fried oysters are hearty with tartar sauce! Delicious!
Grilled oysters, raw oysters, and grilled oysters and raw oysters! If you don't like raw, you can have just grilled oysters, so no worries! They are huge! So plump! We topped them with sudachi and slurped them in one bite! So delicious!
From here, the main event begins! The Anko liver hot pot! You can clearly see that it's filled with liver! A taste test left us in awe of the incredible flavor! Prepare to be amazed! Drop in the plump Anko with plenty of collagen and vegetables into the soup! It's a masterpiece! The liver has an incredible aroma! By the way, the liver in the soup is several times more than the actual meat! Mixing the vegetables in this liver soup and eating it... Fantastic baby!! Amazing! The three of us couldn't stop devouring it! It was a first-time experience! You can keep adding more of this liver and soup, so it's an astounding fact! Unbelievable! We ended up eating over 1 kilogram of liver among the three of us! It may not sound like much, but it felt like a lifetime's worth of liver! We felt like we had eaten a lifetime's worth of liver for a normal person! Lastly, rice porridge! Honestly, we were already full, but we ordered it! It was also incredibly delicious! It was delicious until the end, but towards the end, we had eaten too much liver and reached our limit... It was a happy scream! How was it?
