Hello, today I visited a curry restaurant from the Taisho era. It's a bit hidden in a small alley off the main street, so it's easy to miss, but I was curious about the exterior so I decided to check it out. The name of the restaurant is "Saregama." The staff are locals but they speak Japanese well. For lunch, they offer two types of curry with rice, along with chicken and sausage. It's a generous portion. You can choose the level of spiciness for the curry. I went for a mild one. The daily specials were keema and eggplant curry, which was just the right amount of spiciness and very delicious. It's a hidden gem of Taisho-era curry. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is located in a residential area, so it may be a bit hard to find. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm and nice. The curry is very delicious, but the best part is the naan bread!! The cheese naan is especially tasty, you can eat as many as you want.

The taste and portion size are both excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also great, making it a place I would want to visit again.

If the naan had a finer texture, it would be even better! It depends on personal preference though.

I ordered the 4th level of spiciness at an Indian curry lunch & chai restaurant and it was quite spicy, making me break out in sweat. The meal came with salad and a large naan, filling me up completely. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish. I definitely want to visit again. It was delicious!

I had been thinking of going to this restaurant for a while, but kept putting it off. Finally, I went to "Curry Hajime" for the first time. It was around 2 pm and I was the only customer in the restaurant. I sat at the counter seat. There are three types of lunch sets: A, B, and the luxurious Maharani lunch. I chose the B lunch set for 780 yen. The set included curry (chicken or daily special), naan, tandoori chicken, rice, and salad. First, I had the salad with the orange dressing commonly found in Indian curry restaurants. Then, the chicken curry and naan arrived. The naan had a sweet buttery aroma and was delicious. The curry had a decent amount of spice but not too much heat. The tandoori chicken was tender and juicy. The rice was served later and paired well with the curry. The portions were generous and the naan was refillable. It's a great value for the price and a convenient option in the area. Unfortunately, I didn't see the cat that is said to be in the shop upstairs. I'll have to visit again next time.

Second time visiting! Last time it was delicious, so I came back right away lol. Lunch is cheap. This is the last stop for curry hunting in Taisho Ward. I suddenly made plans to meet with friends on Friday night, so we went. This place is usually closed when I come on Tuesdays. I found out recently that they are closed on Tuesdays. This time, both of us had the evening set. There are 3 types of curry available. I had the "Shimeji Keema" and my friend had the "Chicken" curry. We both ordered beer as well. The naan bread is huge lol, surprised me! It's enough to fill you up on its own. It's a bit on the sweet side, so it may depend on personal preference, but I enjoyed it. The curry can be made spicy, but we didn't order it that way, so it was sweet for both of us. It was a mistake lol. Next time, I definitely want to try the spicy option with the lunch deal! Thank you for the meal. After this, we headed to the second place, Yakitori Raicho!

I visited a friend's live performance and tried Nepalese cuisine! The cozy atmosphere helped me relax. The hot and spicy curry with naan bread was comforting. Even though it was not on the regular menu, it was delicious! I had two beers, one gin and lime, samosas, and salad. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The restaurant also had Nepalese goods for sale. I would like to go back for a regular lunch next time.

I went to this restaurant to try some Indian food near Taisho Station. I took the Osaka Municipal Bus to Sangenya and it was very close. I ordered a curry set that came with two types of curry and tandoori chicken - chicken curry and bamboo shoot curry. The curries tasted similar, with the main difference being the chicken or bamboo shoots. The masala in the curries was a bit lacking. The naan was soft and more like bread. The chef seemed Indian, but the staff serving us were Japanese. Overall, it was a decent experience for my first visit to Taisho in a while.

I tried the "B set" at "Saregama" and it was quite filling. This restaurant is an Indian cuisine place located in Mikenekita, Osaka (a bit of a walk from Taisho Station). The atmosphere was more like a retro and stylish cafe rather than a typical Indian restaurant. The place had a small counter seat on the left side as you enter, a large table for groups in the middle, and smaller tables for 2-4 people around it. The customers were mostly families, couples, and groups of women, and the place was quite crowded. I ordered the "B set" from the lunch menu, which includes a choice of curry, naan, salad, tandoori chicken, and mini rice. I chose the chicken curry, which was not too spicy and had a smooth and delicious taste with plenty of chicken pieces. The naan was soft and slightly sweet, and even without any toppings, it tasted great. You can have unlimited refills of naan during lunch, and the freshly baked hot naan I got as a refill was especially delicious. The overall spiciness level was around medium, so even those who are not good with spicy food should find it easy to eat. All of this for 780 yen felt like a good deal to me. They also offer other affordable lunch sets like the "A set" and the "Maharani set" which includes dessert. For dinner, they have a variety of Indian dishes and curries. So, if you're looking to enjoy affordable Indian cuisine near the Kyocera Dome Osaka, consider giving Saregama a try.

I went south from Taisho Station and found the restaurant in a narrow alley near the gyudon shop. My friend recommended it for lunch, but it's a bit hard to notice. I ordered the Lunch A Set and the Malahani? Set, and the naan was huge! I ate it with chicken curry and the daily special mushroom keema curry, both of which had a Japanese-friendly flavor and were delicious. The Tandoori chicken in the Malahani set was spicy, but it's a matter of personal preference. The Lunch A Set offers great value for everyone, so I will definitely go back again.
