こげ茶
On this day, I had work in Shinsaibashi and finished early, so I decided to stop by Shinsekai. Since I hadn't eaten lunch yet, I decided to have lunch at the long-established kushikatsu restaurant "Tengu." I arrived at the restaurant around 2:30 PM, and the place was about 80% full. There were many tourists, but even at this time, the lively atmosphere is what Shinsekai is all about. I ordered kushikatsu, tamago fry, shiitake fry, asparagus fry, renkon fry, ika fry, doteyaki, and a draft beer. I also made additional orders, but this is what I remember. The seating is all at the counter, and you can enjoy the live feeling of watching them coat and fry the kushikatsu right in front of you. The kushikatsu had a crispy coating overall, and even when dipped in sauce, the crunchiness was not lost, which was great. The ingredients themselves were delicious, and the combination of the coating, ingredients, and sauce was truly the taste of the original. The doteyaki skewered on a stick was also delicious, and it paired well with the sweet miso sauce and shichimi togarashi. The place was always crowded, but many customers ate quickly and left, which made the turnover fast. Each dish was cheap, and it seems like the enjoyment of eating quickly and moving on to different restaurants is one of the ways to have fun here. Thank you for the meal.
