On this day, I casually visited "Kushimoya GURIGURI" located in Uomachi, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City.
◇ Exterior and Interior
This izakaya is located on the 2nd floor of Hikariterasu owned by Daiichi Kotsu Sangyo in Kokura. During the day, it operates as a different shop serving Chinese soba, a unique dual role in Kokura. The exterior and interior are unified with a woody theme, and jazz-like background music plays. Smoking is allowed inside.
◇ Seating
6 counter seats, 10 tables, and multiple terrace seats.
◇ Menu Composition
The menu is divided into regular menu items and today's "delicious dishes." The regular menu includes salads, a la carte dishes, yakitori, vegetable skewers, kushikatsu, desserts, etc. They also serve oden in the winter. Today's delicious dishes seem to be additional a la carte items. The items ordered were as follows:
- Agodashi Yamaimo Teppan (780 yen)
- Yakitori: Seseri, Sunazuri, Sasami Shigi Yaki (180 yen), Hatsu (220 yen), Butabara (250 yen), Shirako Foie Gras (260 yen)
◆ Strong Points
Enjoy delicious dishes in a stylish atmosphere.
◆ Service
Above average service.
◆ Summary
The yakitori with salt alone is delicious, but the limited variety of yakitori is a bit disappointing. The Sasami Shigi Yaki or kushikatsu seems to compensate for this. The salt yakitori is particularly tasty. The balance of the menu brings the overall score down a bit. The kushikatsu or oden seem promising. The lunchtime soba, despite not trying it, may be worth a visit next time. Thank you for the meal!
