This shop is located on the second floor of Uomachi Hikariterasu. As the name suggests, they only serve meat-wrapped skewers and do not have traditional yakitori items like chicken skewers or pork belly. The dishes are generally delicious, with my personal favorites being the soft-boiled egg bacon and the rich Ran-oh tsukune (meatballs with yolk). I wish they had a bit more variety on the menu. They offer a la carte all-you-can-drink options, including sparkling wine, which is a nice touch. The staff is hardworking and likable.

I am currently back in my hometown. I stopped by a restaurant with some high school classmates. It was empty. It's a bit lonely in Kitakyushu. There were more staff than customers. Every dish was delicious. However, the menu was really limited. It was a bit disappointing. I wanted to eat more yakitori.

During the day, it operates as a different shop serving Chinese soba, a unique dual role in Kokura. The exterior and interior are unified with a woody theme, and jazz-like background music plays. Smoking is allowed inside. ◇ Seating 6 counter seats, 10 tables, and multiple terrace seats. ◇ Menu Composition The menu is divided into regular menu items and today's "delicious dishes." The regular menu includes salads, a la carte dishes, yakitori, vegetable skewers, kushikatsu, desserts, etc. They also serve oden in the winter. Today's delicious dishes seem to be additional a la carte items. The Sasami Shigi Yaki or kushikatsu seems to compensate for this. The salt yakitori is particularly tasty. The balance of the menu brings the overall score down a bit. The kushikatsu or oden seem promising. The lunchtime soba, despite not trying it, may be worth a visit next time. Thank you for the meal!

Located on the second floor of Hikariterasu in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. It is a food and drink complex building with about 10 different restaurants. Normally it is a tempura restaurant (I have never tried it). I saw a ramen sign in front of me and decided to go in. It must be tough for everyone during the pandemic... They serve a rare chicken white broth ramen in Kokura. I was curious because my favorite noodle shop, Ramen 834, closed down. The interior of the restaurant is clean with a wooden design, not the typical atmosphere of a ramen shop. At night, there is a terrace so you can dine outdoors, which is great during the pandemic. Currently, due to the state of emergency, the tempura is temporarily closed and only ramen is served (it may have reopened by now). The menu includes two types of chicken white broth ramen (light and rich) and two types of tantanmen (red and white). I was in the mood for chicken white broth, but I ended up ordering the spicy tantanmen (I later tried the chicken white broth and it was delicious). The ramen is served in a unique Hasami-yaki bowl, not the typical ramen bowl. The spicy tantanmen was flavorful and a bit rich, priced at 780 yen. The noodles are thin and I should have added more green onions. The combination was great and I enjoyed it. It's a unique taste that doesn't feel like it's from a tempura restaurant! The chicken white broth is priced at 680 yen, so it's affordable. (They also offer ochazuke set) The atmosphere inside seems to attract many young women, but there were also many older men. The benefit of this time is that since the tempura restaurant can accommodate around 50 people, social distancing is well-maintained (lol). It doesn't have the typical atmosphere of a tonkotsu ramen shop, making it comfortable for families and groups of women! Of course, it's also great for casual dining when you feel like something light!! (They also provide yuzu pepper and various types of pepper for flavor enhancement). The restaurant also operates a yakitori shop separately, so I might challenge that next time. I might also try the tempura. They accept credit cards and PayPay, a new style ramen shop in Kokura, a city known for tonkotsu ramen. Let's support them!! (Tokyo style?! (lol)) Since it used to be a tempura restaurant, it's nice that you can have alcohol from lunchtime. It was a healthy ramen. Thank you for the meal today as well (*^^*)

The shop is quite stylish, attracting mostly female customers. The main dishes are yakitori and rolled skewers, with popular options including kushikatsu and oden. They also offer salads and a la carte menu items, making their menu quite extensive. During this visit with two people, the following items were ordered: [Food] - Enoki mushroom rolled skewer x2 - Lettuce rolled skewer x3 - Soft-boiled egg with bacon - Okra rolled skewer x3 - Chicken heart and toro yamaimo shiso rolled skewer - Apple rolled skewer - Shrimp and avocado with wasabi mayo - Tofu and mizuna salad with sesame shabu sauce [Drinks] - Sapporo draft beer x4 - Dewar's highball Some highlights include the soft-boiled egg with bacon, which is like having breakfast on a skewer, and the lettuce rolled skewer, which combines the texture of lettuce with the savory meat. The hatsu-toro, a rare cut, offers a mix of firm and tender textures. The apple rolled skewer surprisingly pairs well with the meat. The shrimp and avocado with wasabi mayo is a unique combination that works well together. The total cost for this meal, including food and drinks, was around 8500 yen, which is considered reasonable. I would like to try their kushikatsu next time, but it might be a bit challenging to visit alone. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

Kushimoya Guriguri JR Kokura Station South Exit is an 8-minute walk from the main street of Uomachi Gintengai. Operating hours are from 17:30 to 24:00, with no regular holidays. There is no parking lot, but there are coin parking lots nearby. This restaurant specializes in grilled and deep-fried skewers, located in the Hikariterasu building on the main street of the arcade. The atmosphere is more like a Western-style bar with a cozy wooden interior and spacious seating. The lunch menu includes options like Chicken Tempura Set for 880 yen and Tempura Set for 980 yen. The Tempura Set includes tempura of sea bream, pork, shrimp, chicken breast, shiso leaf, eringi mushroom, onion, and eggplant. The tempura is crispy and delicious, made with quality ingredients. The set also comes with miso soup, pickles, and rice with free refills. Overall, the Tempura Set was satisfying and enjoyable. It would be nice if they added a small side dish to enhance the meal experience. This restaurant is located in a competitive area with other tempura shops nearby, such as Fusoya, Izayoi, and Fujishimanato. I would love to visit again to try their skewers next time.

Kushimonya in Kokura City, Fukuoka Prefecture - On this night, after the first day of the event ended, we had a gathering with clients and team members at the kushikatsu restaurant Kushimonya. We started with a toast with draft beer! This time, we had a course with all-you-can-drink option, and the dishes included squid mentaiko, avocado and bacon salad, bonito tataki, assorted deep-fried skewers (camembert, scallop, bacon), grilled skewers (enoki bacon, plum shiso roll, okra roll), hamaguri sake-steamed, zosui rice porridge, and matcha ice cream. There were 7 of us at the feast, and we had a great time chatting and enjoying the food and drinks. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

First visit to the restaurant. Reserved the all-you-can-drink women's party course. First of all, there was no unlimited cheese and ham. The food was delicious, including the deep-fried skewers and sashimi, and the staff were nice. The fact that sparkling wine was included in the all-you-can-drink option was a plus, but the carbonation was lacking in both appearance and taste. However, it's fine since it's unlimited for 500 yen. But then they announced a last drink order? The course felt a bit lacking, so I tried to order a single item, but they said no. The finale was supposed to be salmon and salmon roe tea rice. However, what came out was a sweet porridge with an unknown sweetness. It was delicious, but why was it so different? And where was the cheesecake at the end? When I asked if there was cheesecake later, they brought out matcha ice cream. Even though they confirmed the women's party all-you-can-drink at the beginning, there were too many changes. The taste and the staff were nice, so I'm undecided about returning.

I chose the course without a pot. There are male customers as well, but I think there are more women. The timing of the dishes coming out is good, but sometimes they bring the wrong dish (laughs). I enjoyed tasting various skewers and they were delicious!

I went to a slightly late New Year's party! It was crowded at "Kushimonya GURIGURI" on the 2nd floor of Uomachi Hikariterasu! It was a course with all-you-can-drink for ¥3980 on a weekday. Starting with squid with plum and beer! Next was a simple but delicious tomato salad. The visually appealing jaw broth mille-feuille hot pot was impressive. Seasonal skewers, including rolled skewers, skewered cutlets, squid tempura skewers, tomato bacon skewers, cheese fry skewers, and egg-wrapped meat skewers, each had a different deliciousness. The refreshing morning chicken tataki with wasabi was great! The udon for the hot pot finale was delicious, but the portion was not enough (laughs). The dessert, Grigri roll cake, was also good. The food was delicious, but there were few staff, so the drinks took quite a while to arrive. Felt like I missed out on a drink during the all-you-can-drink time (laughs). Even on weekdays, it seems to be a popular restaurant, so please hire more staff!

The food took a long time to come out, but it was all delicious. As a new customer, I wanted to show the waiter a picture of the skewers I wanted to eat first, but even after waiting for an hour and a half, they never came. I kept asking if they were still coming while waiting. When the skewers finally arrived, they didn't bring all of them. When I asked the person who took my order, they said it was a misunderstanding on the waiter's part, even though I had shown them a picture of what I wanted. The lack of apology from the manager and only an apology from the staff was disappointing. I don't dine out often, and I chose this restaurant from many options, so it was a shame. Without that issue, it would have been a good restaurant.

I wanted to try something different from the usual, so I visited "Kushimonya GURIGURI," a skewer specialty shop that opened on the 2nd floor of Uomachi Hikariterasu. The lively and stylish interior with an open kitchen has a bright atmosphere. They also have terrace seating, making it a great place for a casual drink. The creative skewers use plenty of vegetables, making them appealing to women. I ordered skewers with cheese, meat rolls, and shrimp, and they were deliciously crispy. Surprisingly, the "oden" and "doteyaki" were also a hit. The oden had a rich broth, and the unique miso flavor of the doteyaki was very tasty. They offer a variety of salads, appetizers, and desserts, with many unique options to visually and taste buds. It's a restaurant where you can enjoy a lot of visually appealing dishes.
