There are so many homework restaurants that I haven't been able to visit at all, but among them, there was a shop I've been wanting to visit for a while but just couldn't seem to make it - Uchida Ramen in Chikushino City along Prefectural Route 112. I've actually tried to visit multiple times in the past, but somehow ended up going on a Tuesday when Monday was a holiday and the shop was closed, or arrived too late and they had run out of soup, or forgot that they close early on weekends and holidays. Looking back, I've probably tried to visit the shop about 5 times, but for some reason, the timing just never worked out. However, the other day, I happened to have a real estate job in Chikushino City and had some time to grab a bowl of ramen on my way back. So, I finally made it to Uchida Ramen. Uchida Ramen is a pork bone ramen shop that boasts of Kyushu-style ramen, known for its varied menu and generous portions. It is a popular shop located along a busy road with a parking lot, and offers counter seats, table seats, and even tatami mat seating, catering to both solo diners and families. The shop operates from 11:00 to 19:00 on weekdays, and from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekends and holidays, without a break in between. It was established in 1965 as "Koeiken" in Takamiya, and the founder, Mr. Uchida Kunitoshi, who was originally a carpentry apprentice, decided to open a ramen shop after being recommended by a relative who was in the soy sauce wholesale business in Kurume. Two people who came to teach him how to make ramen were Mr. Sugino Katsumi, who was the first to introduce cloudy pork bone ramen in Kurume, and Mr. Yotsukoro Hidemitsu, who took over "San-Kyu" created by Mr. Sugino and spread cloudy pork bone ramen to Kumamoto, Saga, and Kitakyushu. Mr. Sugino later opened a shop called "RaiRaiKen" in Kitakyushu City, where his son continues to operate as the original cloudy pork bone ramen shop. Both of them apparently did not reveal the real secrets of making ramen, and Mr. Uchida learned and developed his own unique taste over time. The shop was thriving in Fukuoka at the time, claiming to serve Kurume-style ramen, but due to the high number of delivery orders, they decided to focus on in-store sales only and considered relocating. After 25 years, they moved to Naka River, where they changed the shop name to "Uchida Ramen" in honor of Mr. Uchida Kunitoshi. After operating for 24 years in Naka River City, they moved to Chikushino City in July 2015 due to the inability to secure a parking lot, where they continue to operate today. Interestingly, they switched to homemade noodles from about 20 years after the establishment in Takamiya, using slightly thicker noodles typical of Kurume style. When I visited, it was past 3:00 pm, but the shop was still open as they do not have a break in the afternoon. I parked my car in the parking lot and walked to the front of the shop. The shop is located along Prefectural Route 112, a little further east from Yume Town Chikushino store, and past the Sukiya Chikushino Nagao store on the same side. The parking lot is a bit irregular, but there are about 11 spaces, and there is also a covered bicycle parking lot on the roadside. Inside the shop, there is a ticket machine on the left as you enter, with three 4-person table seats in the back, a 2-person table seat and a 4-person table seat on the right, and a 4-person zashiki table at the very back.

I visited Uchida Ramen based on recommendations from other social media platforms. I arrived during off-peak hours, so I was able to get in without waiting in line. I ordered Set A, which included ramen, fried rice, and salad for 1050 yen. The ramen was Kurume-style, with slightly thicker noodles than usual for tonkotsu ramen. The spoon was ridiculously large! The soup was rich and flavorful, and the portion of noodles was generous. I started by eating the ramen as is, then added pepper for a flavor change, followed by grated garlic for a garlic-infused taste. The aroma of tonkotsu and garlic was irresistible. The fried rice was cooked just the way I like it - firm and flavorful. I enjoyed dipping the fried rice in the soup. Next time, I want to try their champon or plate udon. #TonkotsuRamen #ChikushinoGourmet #UchidaRamen #GiantSpoon #FriedRiceSet #GenerousPortions

Champon, the portion size is huge haha. The size of the ladle tells the story... Orders are placed using a ticket machine. For set meals, make sure to read carefully before deciding. The taste is just delicious. It's a popular place, so be prepared to wait a bit before your food arrives.

The ramen at this ramen shop in Ogori, which is highly rated, was completely different from the usual ramen at Wagasan! There were many customers! However, I felt that all the dishes were a bit salty haha. I actually preferred the champon over the ramen!

In 2015, a popular ramen shop that had been in business for over 20 years in Nakagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, moved to Chikushino City. It is a well-established shop, with its predecessor, founded in 1965 as "Koeiken" in Takamiya, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. They are known for their rich tonkotsu broth, medium thick noodles, generous portions, and large ladles. Personally, I have always liked their Champon. As it is a popular shop, I parked before opening to enter. The basic ramen costs 680 yen, with an extra noodle refill for 150 yen. Champon costs 810 yen, while other variations like Yakichampon, Sara Champon, and Paripari Yakisoba are also available for 810 yen each. The menu for Champon can be confusing for beginners. This time, I tried the deluxe "Niku Champon" for 1,010 yen. It is clearly a meaty dish with a generous amount of meat, making it worth more than its price. The rich tonkotsu broth, stir-fried vegetables, and thick soup are all delicious. This is the true "Uchida's Champon." I also tried the "Wantan Ramen" for 810 yen, which had a shiny surface indicating a rich soup with high fat and protein content. The concentrated flavor of pork bone spreads throughout the mouth upon tasting. The homemade medium-thick noodles typical of Kurume ramen have a smooth texture and good soup absorption. The dish is satisfying with a generous amount of noodles and well-stuffed wantan. I would like to try the "Yakimeshi" next time. The parking lot is always full, so be prepared if you are interested in visiting.

When I thought of Fukuoka, I was looking forward to having ramen at a food stall, but it seems that the stalls are open only in the evening. So, I had to give up on the idea of having ramen at a stall and decided to go to this restaurant instead. This restaurant is known for serving "Kurume Ramen", which is a rich and creamy tonkotsu ramen. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is quite traditional, and there is a strong smell of meat. I ordered my ramen at the ticket machine and asked for the noodles to be cooked firm. The noodles were thin and straight, the soup was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy, and the pork slices were tender and tasty. The serving size was generous, and I was surprised by the size of the ladle they gave me. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The set includes ramen, fried rice, and salad. The portion of fried rice is surprisingly large for a small size, but the taste is a bit bland so the sauce for flavoring was a nice addition. The ramen has a light flavor but the soup was delicious. The salad was a nice touch.

I walked 20 minutes from Nishitetsu Asakura Kaido Station to find a renowned ramen shop in Chikushino, near Sakuradai Station. The restaurant was full inside and there were several groups waiting outside. However, the turnover at the ramen shop was fast, and we were able to enter in about 15 minutes. I ordered the Ramen A set, which came with tonkotsu ramen, salad, pickles, and a small portion of fried rice. Well, the fried rice portion was not small at all. We shared it among us, and it was delicious with various ingredients and well-seasoned. The ramen was Kurume ramen, with a moderately rich and flavorful soup. However, the ladle provided was surprisingly large, making it a bit difficult to drink the soup.

I found a sign for "Uchida Ramen" that I had always wanted to visit while driving around to kill time. I saw that there was one parking spot available, so I decided to go in without hesitation. I bought Char Siu ramen and fried rice from the ticket machine. After a while, the fried rice and Char Siu ramen arrived. The portion of fried rice was large, and I thought I might not be able to finish it. However, the ramen soup was delicious, and the fried rice was also tasty. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish both dishes, so I took the fried rice home. It was delicious.

I finally went to a restaurant I've been wanting to visit for a while. I ordered ramen from the ticket machine. The soup is rich and well-cooked with pork bones. The sauce has a strong flavor. It reminds me of Marusei Ramen's soup, which I thought was one of a kind, so I was surprised! The noodles are medium-thin and cooked to a normal firmness, although I asked for them to be a bit softer. In Kyushu ramen, like Kurume Ramen or Saga Ramen, slightly softer noodles are more delicious, so it seems they know what they're doing here. The chashu is salty, tender, and flavorful. It's a satisfyingly large portion. This is a top-notch restaurant!

First visit. The place was packed with customers. Parking lot was full, but luckily got a table in about 3 minutes. If we had arrived just 10 minutes later, we might not have found parking. Clearly a popular spot. Ordered ramen with regular noodles and the A set with firm noodles. Food arrived in about 5 minutes. The ramen was classic Kurume style, quite rich. The Yakimeshi in the A set was a generous portion even for a small size. The salad was fresh and crunchy. The spoon for the Yakimeshi was made of iron, just as rumored. Both the ramen and A set were delicious. Next time, I might try the Chuka-don or Yaki Champon.

I entered weekend mode with a craving for tonkotsu ramen, but the restaurant I had in mind was already closed. So, I decided to go to a popular ramen shop that serves food all day, which used to operate in Naka River, Fukuoka. I arrived at a late hour and had no trouble finding parking, but there was a problem with the ticket machine not accepting bills, causing a long line for change. Since it was a bit late, I decided to try their wonton ramen instead of the set menu. The shop was surprisingly busy, with customers coming in one after another even though it was just before 3 PM. This was my first time trying wonton ramen, and I received a generous portion with thin, chewy skins and well-seasoned fillings. The flavor was just right, not too overpowering with garlic or seasoning on the ingredients. The noodles were also to my liking, not too thin and with a generous amount. The tonkotsu broth paired well with the noodles, and the three slices of chashu were delicious. Even though it wasn't a famous udon shop, the noodles seemed endless as I ate. Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch experience. Thank you for the meal! I also noticed a lady at a table enjoying vegetable ramen, which I might try next time.

"I stopped by 'Uchida Ramen' on my way back from camping at 'Onojo Ikoinomori Campground'. The restaurant had a strong sense of tradition, and my ramen radar was buzzing with excitement. I have skills in scouting out ramen places. The prices were average and the atmosphere was bustling with customers. I ordered the 'A set (ramen + small fried rice + salad)' for 980 yen. The small fried rice was not so small, it was surprisingly generous in portion! I underestimated it! The ramen itself was 630 yen, with a powerful umami flavor derived from the head bones and collagen, leaving a slight wild scent. The fine grains of fat in the broth were appealing. The noodles were thin with a gentle wave, providing a soft and chewy texture. The chashu was a bit dry, the seaweed was soft with a subtle aroma, and the wood ear mushrooms added a nice crunch. The green onions were a bit overpowering in flavor. The 'small fried rice' for 550 yen was not so small, with plenty of ingredients like pork, onions, carrots, fish cakes, and green onions. It had a fragrant and well-seasoned taste, but unfortunately, it was a bit cold. I wish I had eaten it fresh as the rice grains lacked firmness. It came with pickles and salad, and the spoon was huge! Overall, the ramen was delicious. I managed to finish it, feeling extremely full. It was a great experience once again. On the way back, I crossed the Reisui Pass to return home."

Today I visited here ◆ Today's Order ◆ Ramen 630 yen I'm currently refraining from drinking at night, but I really wanted tonkotsu soup, so I went to Uchida Ramen in Chikushino. This ramen shop uses a ticket system, which was my first time experiencing. I ordered the regular tonkotsu ramen with straight noodles, topped with 3 slices of chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and seaweed. The soup is not greasy but has a rich and delicious flavor. I love Kurume ramen ♫ By the way, everyone, the ladle at this ramen shop is huge! Is this actually a specialty here?! I didn't take a photo on purpose, but if you're curious, why not visit and see for yourself?? Thank you for the meal ^ ^

In 2022, we ordered lunch for three people at a ramen restaurant in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The total was 980 yen for two sets of A and 960 yen for one set of B. The restaurant is a long-established shop founded in 1965, originally located in Nakagawa Town. The taste of the ramen is reminiscent of the old-school Kurume style. It's a popular spot with always a lot of customers, making it hard to find parking. We managed to find a spot as it was a bit late for lunch. The A set includes ramen and fried rice, while the B set includes ramen, gyoza, and white rice. Both sets come with generous portions that left us feeling stuffed. The ramen has a good soup base similar to the Kurume style, with thin and soft noodles that are rare in Fukuoka Prefecture. The combination was good, reminding us of the Kurume style ramen that lingers in Oita. The large ladle provided makes it easy to mix the soup and noodles, which was interesting and unique. The noodles tended to get a bit soggy, resembling the texture of Makinohara noodles. We felt extremely full after the meal. However, the ramen had a strong, almost overpowering MSG flavor that made us extremely thirsty afterwards. No matter how much water or tea we drank, the thirst wouldn't go away. It was tough. If it wasn't for the boss, it would have been better. The fried rice was moist and seemed to contain okaka (bonito flakes), with a strong presence of carrots and a nicely crispy exterior. However, the portion was much larger than a typical half-fried rice, making it a bit overwhelming. The gyoza was large and standard in size. Whenever we have ramen in Fukuoka, it seems like the MSG concentration is higher. Why do they add so much MSG? Doesn't it bother anyone? It's excessive. I think it would be nice to ask the chef, like in the old days at street stalls, "Hey, can you leave out the MSG in mine?" with a slight change in dialect to show off as an outsider.

When I passed by, the usually packed parking lot had plenty of spaces available. Feeling hungry, I slid right in. Oh, just as a figure of speech, of course. If I actually slid in with my car, that would be an accident (laughs). Getting arrested for such a shameful act would be irreparable, a "lifetime embarrassment" (laughs). Anyway, I went inside and ordered ◆Ramen 630 yen◆Extra noodles 130 yen at the ticket machine. (^-^)v The ramen was served quickly, probably because there was a temporary lull in customers (although more customers started coming in soon after). The classic "Kurume Ramen" look hasn't changed, and it's strange how this ramen is still popular in Chikushino City, even though it's declining in Kurume City. I chuckled at the unnecessarily large ladle when I tried to drink the soup. I still don't understand why they have such a big ladle for no reason (laughs) ( ̄∇ ̄*)ゞ The soup seemed tastier than before, maybe because the pork bone ratio has increased, shifting from a more artificial taste to a slightly more serious flavor. The noodles also seemed better. They are homemade, so they can easily make minor changes, maybe they are constantly improving. As for the noodle portion, it's quite generous. And with the extra noodles, they even give you more soup, so I ended up feeling really full. One issue though, there are several condiments on the counter, but I couldn't tell which was which - the dumpling sauce, the regular sauce, the extra noodle sauce, they all look like soy sauce. It would be helpful to have labels. Thank you for the meal. m(__)m

When you enter the store, you are greeted by a delicious smell of pork bone. I purchased a meal ticket first. I chose the A set for 980 yen (ramen, small fried rice, salad, pickles). The ramen has an old-fashioned pork bone soup which is rich and delicious, just the way I like it. The fried rice is also simple and tasty. Although it says small fried rice, the portion was generous and I couldn't finish it all... Sorry about that. It was really delicious!

On Saturday at 2 pm in Chikushino City. It's been a while, so I went to Uchida Ramen. When I arrived, the parking lot was full! Cars kept coming in one after another. I was surprised by how popular it was at lunchtime. I ordered the A set for 980 yen (ramen, small fried rice, pickles, salad). The soup had a strong and salty taste. The first bite was good, but it became too salty afterwards. The noodles were surprisingly thin. I ordered them firm, but they were a bit overcooked! They had a slight smell. The fried rice had kamaboko in it! It was lightly sweet with a strong oily taste. The portion was as generous as ever. No doubt I'll be full. The set felt like a good deal. Is this the secret to its popularity?? Oh, and the customer next to me accidentally spilled water into their ramen. Even so, they ordered an extra portion. The owner brought a new bowl of ramen to replace it. What great service! They must want their customers to enjoy their meal. The waitress was attentive, friendly, and made the atmosphere cozy. They filled my stomach and made me feel like I was back home. Thank you for the meal♪

I visited Uchida Ramen in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture! This popular ramen shop offers delicious tonkotsu ramen that has evolved from Kurume ramen as its base. During peak hours, it's common to see the parking lot full and the seats occupied, so it's best to visit right after opening or after 2pm to enjoy a leisurely meal. I had the A set (980 yen - ramen + small fried rice + salad) and used the big spoon that is a specialty of the shop. The soup of the ramen has a slightly strong flavor, but you can still taste the deliciousness of the tonkotsu broth. Adding garlic, which is not recommended during work hours, enhances the flavor even more. The fried rice has a simple taste with well-cooked rice and ingredients, making it a wonderful accompaniment to the ramen. With larger portions compared to other shops, the satisfaction level is definitely worth the price. Make sure to visit on an empty stomach! Thank you for the delicious meal.

On September 20, 2021, I had ramen for lunch priced at 630 yen. This is a long-established restaurant founded in the Showa era, which relocated to its current location five years ago. The pork bone soup is well-balanced with emulsification and aging, slightly salty. The aging aroma is enhanced by the medium-thin noodles, which seem to be quite long for the Fukuoka area. The pleasure of the strong aroma bursting in the mouth with each slurp is addictive.

I came back to Uchida Ramen this week, following last week's visit! I arrived a little after 2 o'clock, thinking I would easily find parking, but even at this time there were many customers, and I was lucky to find just one spot available. It's clear how popular this place is. Today, in order to fully enjoy the ramen, I ordered the W Ramen only. I waited a bit for it to arrive. I took a sip of the soup. It's delicious as always! Next, I slurped up the noodles. They are a bit thick, but they are tasty and not overpowered by the soup. The portion of noodles is generous and satisfying! After finishing, I debated whether to get a refill. It's my once-a-week carb day, so I bought a refill ticket and ordered it. The refill noodles also come in hot soup, which is a nice touch! I enjoyed it until the end, changing the flavor with pickled ginger. Satisfied! I will definitely come back to eat here again!
