I visited "Hakozaki Kyutaro Shoten" in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture! Located right next to Hakozaki Shrine, this renovated old folk house has a very stylish atmosphere. I was very interested in the "Watarigani Tsukemen" and "Craft Beer" introduced on the TV show "Banana Man's Sekkaku Gourmet."
- Craft Beer Tasting Set: I chose a tasting set of three different craft beers because I wanted to try various types. All three were great! Especially, the Peach Weizen had a sweet aroma of peaches and bananas that I really liked.
- Porcini Mushroom Oden: This specialty dish was amazing! The porcini mushroom sauce was incredibly delicious, and the combination with the traditional dashi broth was perfect. The ingredients included beef tendon, daikon radish, egg, and konjac, which all paired well with the sauce.
- Watarigani Tsukemen: This dish, as seen on the TV show, had a rich crab-based dipping sauce made with a lot of snow crabs, tomato paste, cream, and a hint of Saikyo miso. The noodles were thick and chewy, perfect for dipping in the flavorful sauce. It had a strong crab flavor but was not overpowering, making it enjoyable even for those who are not big fans of crab.
Overall, the restaurant had a chic atmosphere, the craft beers were great, the food was delicious, and they also had a variety of traditional Japanese sweets. It's definitely worth a repeat visit, but be prepared for a possible wait as the restaurant tends to have long lines. I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. After enjoying a bit of a buzz, I headed to "Moji Port" while still in a tipsy state. (laughs)

Finally managed to secure a reservation at a popular restaurant. Located near Hakozaki Shrine, this creative izakaya impresses with its fantastic seasoning. Despite the affordable prices, the portions are generous and the flavors are top-notch. I chose the popular craft beer, Mongol Attack. The porcini oden can be turned into a risotto after eating (for an extra fee of around 500 yen). I also tried the steak, and all the dishes were prepared meticulously. The only downside is that the dishes are a bit salty, but that's expected at a place serving alcohol. Finished off with "Tetsuha Mochi" for dessert.

In front of Hokusaki Shrine, there is a renovated old house that has been turned into a charming tea house during the day and a beer bar serving creative Japanese cuisine at night. I visited for lunch and tried their shaved ice and matcha tiramisu. The shaved ice was made with a rich blend of tiramisu cream, hojicha syrup, and hojicha powder, offering a refreshing yet indulgent treat with a hint of sweetness. The matcha tiramisu was a delightful dessert with a generous amount of mascarpone cream and matcha jelly inside. It was a must-try for matcha lovers. The cream soda was a vibrant blue Hawaii soda with Calpis and grape-flavored ice, making it a visually appealing and refreshing drink. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Visited after a long time. The shop is as lively as ever. This time, we sat six people around a round table on the second floor. We started with beer and salted tsukune as an appetizer. The hamo tempura was exquisite, tender and crispy, enjoyed with salt and plum paste. The mentaiko cream pizza was also a great choice for a snack. For the finale, we had the porcini oden broth turned into cheese risotto. This is always a highlight for me, and it ranks number one in my not-so-long list of risottos in life. Thank you for the meal!

I had a 4,500 yen course meal at night, along with a 100 yen Hoegaarden beer. The beer was so easy to drink and delicious that I ended up ordering three more. I wish the course meal included the beer for just an additional 100 yen. Overall, the other drinks seemed to be on the stronger side. The salted lemon sour was sweet but tasty. The plum wine and cassis orange also seemed to be strong and delicious (I didn't try them). The restaurant is located very close to Hakozaki Shrine and has a great atmosphere. The course meal included: homemade salted tsukune, seasonal vegetable and steamed chicken salad, sesame amberjack, porcini oden trio, salmon miso mayo grill, porcini risotto, and a dessert. The homemade salted tsukune and salmon miso mayo grill were tender and delicious. The fresh sesame amberjack was enjoyed with plenty of wasabi. The porcini oden was unique with a fragrant porcini cream broth. The porcini risotto was rich and creamy, just as expected. Unfortunately, there are no photos. One downside was the seating. The sunken hearth table was a bit narrow, making it difficult to put your feet underneath when sitting. However, once seated, it was not a big issue. The private rooms are not sunken hearth tables, so they may not be suitable for those with knee problems. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

This is a cafe located near Hozaki Shrine in a traditional Japanese house. You can enjoy delicious dishes in a retro atmosphere. I visited during lunchtime. It was crowded on Saturday, so the wait was quite long. However, I was able to visit Hozaki Shrine during the wait, so it turned out okay. I ordered the crab tsukemen and porcini mushroom oden set. The crab tsukemen had chewy noodles and a rich crab flavor in the dipping sauce, which was delicious. The oden had large ingredients and was satisfying, with the rice in the broth being so tasty you could eat it on its own. For dessert, I ordered matcha tiramisu. It had a bottom layer with a jelly-like texture, balancing well with the creaminess and tasting delicious.

The shop located on the street towards Hakozaki Shrine after getting off the subway. They offer a course with all-you-can-drink craft beer, and I chose the crab hot pot course. The craft beer was a white beer with a light and fruity impression. The hot pot in the course was appetizing with its color and aroma of crab broth. The meat was neatly arranged and the dessert was delicious too.

The dipping noodles with crab at Watarigani are amazing. The rich crab broth spreads throughout your mouth when you slurp the noodles, creating an irresistible sensation for crab lovers. The only thing I would like to see improved is having the crab legs pre-cut with scissors. It may take some extra effort, but it would be perfect if they did that. Also, the desserts look delicious.

I visited the restaurant after 6pm and was led to a room at the back of the second floor. They offer all-you-can-drink options for individual drinks, which is great for beer lovers. I ordered various dishes such as tsukune, porcini mushroom oden, Hatataro's fried chicken, cheese meat soboro, mentaiko cream pizza, firm chicken charcoal-grilled skewers, and more. Lastly, they made cheese risotto using the oden broth, which was the highlight of the meal! It was incredibly delicious.

I went out with friends, thinking everyone would head home afterwards, but with just one word, "Let's go for drinks," we ended up staying. We didn't have a reservation and just walked in. Luckily, they were not accepting walk-in customers without reservations after us, so the timing was perfect. We opted for the all-you-can-drink option instead of ordering individual drinks. It was great that we could still get the all-you-can-drink option even on the day of. We had the choice between the regular all-you-can-drink or one that included craft beer, and we all agreed on the craft beer option. There were five of us, so we ordered two of each dish. I didn't manage to take photos of everything, like the sashimi and tempura we also ordered. I really wanted to try the porcini mushroom oden, it was delicious with a great aroma. The risotto that followed seemed like it was meant for two people, not one, it was such a small portion that we burst out laughing. The cheese and minced meat dish was tasty with rich cheese flavor. The most disappointing dish was the smashed cucumber, the sesame oil was too strong and overpowering. We all enjoyed craft beer from start to finish, and I managed to try 9 out of 10 different craft beers available, aside from Kirin. It was nice that we could choose between small, medium, and large sizes (some were only available in medium and large). If only we had more than 90 minutes, I could have tried more. It was a bit disappointing that the service was slow even when we rang the bell a few times. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with delicious food and drinks. I have visited the cafe a few times during the day, but this was my first time at night, and I must say, it was also great at night. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I have been to this restaurant for lunch before, but this was my first time having dinner there. The atmosphere inside, which seems to be a renovated house, is very nice. This time, we were seated on the third floor. It was my first time trying the dinner menu, but nothing particularly stood out to me. I found the silver cod with sweet sake to be the most delicious. In terms of cost performance, I don't think it's that great. The portions of each dish were small. Maybe opting for a course meal would have been better.

Near Hakozaki Shrine. A retro-looking shop with a cozy atmosphere similar to a Japanese cafe. They have a variety of craft beers to choose from, making it fun to try different ones. The food was all delicious with no disappointments. I especially want to try the porcini oden and risotto again. The spicy chili oil potato salad and salted tsukune were also to my liking! The homemade satsuma-age was incredibly fluffy and tasty. Definitely a restaurant I want to visit again!

I visited the tea room during the daytime and found the prices a bit high, but the atmosphere was very relaxing with the old folk house design and jazz background music. I would like to try the bar section in the evening next time, as they seem to have some unique menu items.

This is 'Hakozaki Hatataro Shoten' located in Higashi Ward, Hakozaki. I heard about it from an acquaintance and thought it looked delicious, so I went there right away. The Amao Strawberry Parfait at Hatataro is priced at 1100 yen for just the parfait and 1380 yen with a drink. The parfait looks stylish and delicious. I added condensed milk to enhance the flavor. Under the strawberries, there is raspberry gelato, chocolate brownie, brown rice flakes, and more strawberries. It was so delicious that I kept saying "yum" as I ate. Towards the bottom, there is ricotta cream, strawberry sauce, and Amao honey lemon jelly. It wasn't too sweet, the size was just right, and it was the best parfait. Thank you for the meal.

It was a visit during a regular lunch time, and there was almost no wait. The inside of the shop was very stylish, with many female customers and couples. It felt like a cafe where you can drink alcohol. Cost performance: ★★★☆☆, Type: ★★★★☆ Craft beer was delicious. The crab tsukemen was also exquisite.

I lightly visited Suga Shrine and was looking for a nearby place to stop by. I found this cafe that I had saved before, which also serves lunch and allows daytime drinking. They seem to be particular about craft beer, but since I don't drink beer much, I was happy to find Hoegaarden on the menu! It's the only beer I really like. So I decided to have it after a long time, and as expected, I still love the White Beer (*^^*). I also ordered some fried chicken as a snack, which was big and juicy! For my second drink, I switched to a highball and enjoyed it. The desserts seem to be popular too, so I might try the cafe next time I visit. Thank you for the meal.

Located right next to Hakozaki Shrine, Hakozaki Hatataro Shoten is a renovated old folk house. Around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was almost full, but after waiting for about 10 minutes and signing in, we were able to get a table. Ordered Hatataro's fried chicken and a Hoegaarden White to enjoy a casual lunchtime drink. They had a variety of craft beers to choose from, and the glasses and coasters were cute. The juicy fried chicken paired well with the beer, making for a great lunch experience. The lunch and cafe menus also seem to be popular, with cute little charcoal grilled dumplings available. It was a delightful meal.

This time, I had some free time so I visited this cafe! [Visit Date] I visited around 3:00 PM on Wednesday and was able to enter smoothly. ------------------------------ [Order Details] ・Hato-taro's Shichirin Dango ------------------------------ [Notes] The interior of the cafe, like an old folk house, has a very calming woody scent. This time, I ordered the Shichirin Dango! It comes with 3 white dango and 1 yomogi dango. It also comes with 4 types of toppings: mitarashi, adzuki bean paste, strawberry white bean paste, and sliced amaou strawberries! It's a style where you grill it on a shichirin! The charcoal has a nice aroma and it's fun to grill. The dango is chewy with a nice bounce, and once you take a bite, you'll be hooked! The limited-time strawberry topping is amazing, with the sweetness of the strawberries and the texture of the dango being a perfect match! The mitarashi also has a nice sweetness and is delicious. We shared 4 pieces between 2 people and were very satisfied! It's recommended for in between travels or when you have some free time! I would love to go again! [Highlights ✨] ☆Stylish interior like an old folk house! ☆Enjoyable with 4 types of toppings!

An old folk house with a retro-modern atmosphere combined with jazz music. The service is very pleasant, typical of Fukuoka. They offer a 4,600 yen course with all-you-can-drink options, including local specialties like ginger highballs and salt lemon sours. The signature porcini oden and other dishes are all delicious. It seems to be always full, so reservations are necessary. They also provide thick paper coasters as souvenirs from the restaurant.

I visited Hazakiza Hutaro Shoten. The pigeon character is cute. The interior of the store has a clean, stylish feel with a kotatsu. I ordered the famous oden and plum rice. The appetizer arrived quickly, it was tsukune. When you chew it, the minced meat is firm and not dry at all, with just the right amount of seasoning and a fresh chicken flavor. The rice in the pot had the scent of plum on each grain, and the mixed grain rice was delicious grain by grain. The oden had a unique soup that was rich and creamy, not like the typical dashi soup. The flavors were amazing. Thank you for the meal!

Located on the south side of Hakozaki Hachimangu Shrine near the "First Torii" of the shrine, this BeerBar is situated along the Karatsu Kaido road in Fukuoka City's Higashi Ward, next to the popular bakery Nagata Pan. The building used to be a renovated private hospital. Inside, there are sunken kotatsu-style tables in a cozy setting. Customers can enjoy craft beer tasting and delicious snacks and dishes. The signature dish is the "Oden" served with porcini sauce. During the day, the place also operates as a tea house offering Japanese sweets, as well as affordable lunch sets like the "Porcini Oden Lunch" and the "Crab Tsukemen Lunch" for 1,000 yen each (excluding tax). The "Hatataro Course" for 2,500 yen (including tax) offers a selection of 8 dishes including cheese soboro, sesame kampachi, salad, specialty grilled meats, fried chicken, oden hot pot, risotto-style zosui, and dessert. Adding the "Craft Beer All-You-Can-Drink" option brings the total to 5,500 yen (including tax). The reviewer visited this place to catch up with former colleagues from about 10 years ago, and enjoyed the nostalgic atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. They particularly praised the Oden dish with porcini sauce, which had a unique Italian twist. The reviewer had a great time reminiscing with their friends and appreciated the overall experience at the restaurant.
