The Earth House Sumiyoshi Honmachi store was reopened on June 15, 2015. I visited on the first day to check out the slightly smaller interior and the food. (Photos added) June 15, 2015, recorded by Shinryu Hayashi
I'll start with the most recent comment this time. The reason is that the "Black Devil Pizza" is the latest recommended dish. Lately, we have been visiting about once a month, and my friends always want to eat the "Black Devil Pizza" at the Earth House Sumiyoshi Honmachi store. If someone asks for the spiciest food in Fukuoka, I would recommend ordering the special 2x spicy version of this. (Since April 2014, I have been requesting the special 3x spicy, but one slice was enough for me. If you want to challenge yourself, ask Mama or Gon-chan. My recommendation for those who like very spicy food is to stick to normal or up to 2x spicy.) (I heard that there is a new curry at Tiki on Watanabe Street that the master couldn't eat, but I haven't tried it yet, so this is based on current information.) When you try to order it at the Earth House, Mama or Gon-chan will probably look at you like, "Is this guy crazy?" but have the courage to order it. I ate it two times in a row and my butt hurt, so from now on, I will only eat the regular "Black Devil Pizza," but challengers, go for it! It is much spicier than the spicy curry in Nuwara Eliya. I usually like curry around 20x spicy, but only those who can handle spicy food should try it at their own risk.

I apologize for focusing only on the Black Devil Pizza, but it seems to have an addictive quality (laughs) I visited again last night for the Black Devil Pizza. Lately, I go about once a month to have it. The draft beer here is always ice-cold and delicious, and for those who like spicy food, this and the Black Devil Pizza are an irresistible treat. You should try it at least once. (Note: It seems that people who are not seriously into spicy food should avoid it, though...) Oh, one more thing to add. The beautiful hot pot requires a reservation, but it's an absolute recommendation if you go with a woman.

Oh, I recently realized that I forgot to write about this because of drinking too much alcohol or working too hard... I was writing about "Baka to Aho" on the front, so I thought I had written about this too, but it seems that I was relieved after uploading the photos. Hmm, should I cut back on drinking and working (bitter smile) (; _ ;) Jokes aside, it seems that they are about to celebrate their 37th anniversary, which I think is exceptional longevity for an izakaya. First of all, let's congratulate the master, Mama, the manager, and the staff. The Earth House Sumiyoshi Honmachi store is located right behind the yakiniku restaurant "Baka to Aho" in front of Sumiyoshi Park, but there is a sign, but no entrance...? One day, I saw someone enter a narrow alley and realized that the shop was there. That's the Earth House. I have visited here dozens of times, and this was the shop I visited the most when I lived near Hakata Station. I have taken over a hundred photos, but I can't upload them without organizing them, which is a shame. Personally, I usually kept a bottle of shochu and ordered sashimi, grilled dishes, salad, a random dish, and pasta or pizza. One of the pleasures here is looking for what you want to eat that day from the recommendations and standard menu on the cardboard menu. If you understand the location, you might get addicted once you go there. The master may look intimidating, but he is a very kind person, and Mama takes great care of you, so it's a shop with many regular customers. I always drink at the counter in the front. My favorite items from the standard menu are basil pasta and Devil Pizza. (I think the Devil Pizza is the spiciest pizza in Fukuoka, please be careful, haha) Even after moving, I still visit here, Baka to Aho, and a little at Bar ROBIN as usual. The pattern is to eat at the Earth House on weekdays and then go to ROBIN on Sundays to eat at Baka to Aho.
