The system seems to have changed recently. When it's crowded, they explain the daily recommendations before you take your seat, but when it's not crowded, they do it after you're seated. I've uploaded photos for two different visits. It's always crowded, so I recommend going at off-peak times. It seems like between 2 pm and 3:10 pm is relatively less crowded. It gets busy on holidays! The daily recommendations are separate from the menu, so it's good to check them out before ordering. The sashimi, for example, sometimes comes with extra pieces, like on this day when I got a five-piece assortment instead of the usual three. It felt like a good deal. The sashimi is really good quality and quite affordable too. Even if you order a couple of varieties, it feels like a better deal compared to other places. They have a wide range of alcoholic drinks, from local sake to highballs, which is great for those who enjoy a drink! The staff are refreshing and create a pleasant atmosphere for enjoying your food and drinks. It's always crowded, but definitely worth a visit for a delicious experience! 🍶🍣🎉

I've always wanted to go to "Fujiko" but the long line always made me give up. It's located on the B2 floor of Osaka Umeda Lucua, with a big sign that makes it easy to find. The restaurant is known for its cheap and delicious seafood. The dish I liked the most was the "uni ika" which costs 399 yen per piece. It was so sweet! The chewiness of the squid really complemented the sweetness of the sea urchin. The chu-toro was also very sweet. Unfortunately, they were sold out of "kinmedai simmered dish," "toro nodoguro nigiri," and "hamachi." I'll make sure to visit earlier next time! Thank you for the meal!

After waiting in line for about an hour, we were finally able to enter the restaurant. I was prepared for the wait, so it wasn't too much of a bother. However, I was disappointed to find out that about half of the menu items I wanted to try were sold out. The new salt-grilled saury, simmered kinmedai, fatty tuna nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, and yellowtail belly nigiri were all sold out. I recommend arriving early to avoid missing out on popular dishes.

I visited on a regular night. Even before 9 pm, there was a waiting line. I chose based on the menu written on the blackboard, expecting affordability. Perhaps I had set my expectations too high, as freshness is crucial when it comes to seafood. As someone who has experienced seafood from Kyushu and the Sea of Japan, I was not impressed. However, I believe it would be suitable for those who grew up in urban areas and have limited experience with fresh ingredients.

I visited after a long time, and as usual, there was a long line. The prices seem to have gone up overall since my last visit. It's understandable due to the high cost of living. I didn't see many menu items I wanted, so I ended up ordering beer and sashimi. It was different from when I came for lunch before. The Sunday crowds in Umeda are intense. I don't come to the Lucua side often, so I was surprised.

I had yakitori for my first stop, so for the second stop, I went for seafood! I've been seeing this restaurant a lot on Tabelog recently, and everyone says it's delicious and cheap, so I had high expectations. I arrived at 3:30 PM, and there was already a line. Fujiko is very popular.
- Dish List -
☆ Starter
- Simmered yellowtail. Very delicious.
- Fujiko's potato salad with crackers. More like macaroni salad.
- Salted salmon sashimi. Very tender.
- Flounder nigiri (fatty) and flounder nigiri (crispy). The flounder was fresh and crispy. I always order the fatty one.
- Fresh octopus with salt and sesame oil. Has a Chinese-style taste with sesame oil.
♠︎ Drinks
- Celeb highball x2
- Seriously good lemon soda x2
- Fujiko chu-hai x2
My friend R and I enjoyed the fresh and varied menu items that were creatively prepared. It was a delightful dining experience. Thank you for the meal. ♡

I went to try the limited 40 meals only "Fujiko-chan set meal". I heard there would be a line, but when I arrived 30 minutes after opening, there were only 3 sets left! The set meal included a delicious simmered fish head, fresh seaweed soup, and a variety of side dishes. Everything was so tasty. Lastly, I put sashimi on top of the rice, poured grated yam from the side dish over it, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal!

Around 1:00 pm, I visited a restaurant that was surprisingly not crowded, perhaps because the lunch peak had passed. The atmosphere was like an izakaya, making it easy for women and young people to enter. I started with beer and a speedy menu item, potato salad. The potato salad with tartar sauce and crackers was a good choice for a tartar lover like me. The medium fatty tuna sushi was delicious, and the live octopus sushi had a good balance of sourness from the plum. The rolled omelette was larger and fluffier than I expected. The shrimp sushi was a bit small, and the squid leg tempura had a good volume and was a great side dish. I ended up having three beers. Thank you for the meal!

I waited in line for about 20 minutes for the Fujiko-chan set meal for the first time in a while, but the quality was really bad. Especially the sashimi was terrible. Not worth waiting in line for. I've compared the sashimi from my previous visit (first photo) with today's sashimi (second photo). You can see the difference in color at a glance, right? The tuna was so bad that I left a piece uneaten.

Today's lunch was at a popular restaurant, Stand Fujiko. Even though it was past lunchtime, the place was already full! As expected. Now, what I ordered was a platter of 5 types of fresh fish, and true to its name, they were really fresh! Fujiko's potato salad with crackers was a nice touch. The squid ear tempura was a bit tough, but the portion was huge! The rolled omelette was unbelievably large, even for someone who loves eggs like me, it was impossible to finish alone (laughs). As a fish market, this izakaya specializes in seafood, and everything I ordered was delicious, no disappointments at all. Thank you for the feast ☆☆3. Forty-nine

The freshness of the fish is top-notch. I didn't expect to find this quality in the underground of the station. I went on Wednesday night at 7 pm and didn't have to wait in line to get in! Lucky me. The fish dishes are all delicious and cheap. The potato salad was just okay. If you go, definitely order the sashimi! The shrimp was still moving!

After work, I decided to have a quick drink at "Stand Fujiko" in Lucua B1. Since its opening, Lucua B1 has always had long lines, so I never had the chance to stop by before. But I was curious about Fujiko, and I found it to be a convenient place for a casual girls' night out. The table was spacious for two people at a four-person table, and we could order using our smartphones. Although some popular menu items were sold out, we still had a great time! I forgot to take a photo towards the end, but the dashimaki was substantial and made for a good snack. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

First visit, long-awaited Fujiko lunch. Even on a weekday, there was a long line 15 minutes before opening. I also arrived 30 minutes early for a weekday lunch and waited in line. The luxurious lunch that justifies the long line. When it comes to the food, the taste was average and didn't leave a special impression. In terms of cost performance, it's a bit expensive, so personally, I don't think I will come back.

Last time, I had to give up on waiting in line due to the crowdedness, but this time, there were four people waiting! I can do this! We were seated within about 10 minutes. As soon as we sat down, our food was served. There are a lot of people drinking, so the turnover rate is slow, but today it seems like there are more people here for lunch. The simmered sea bream head is excellent. It's quite lightly seasoned, but that's just right. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

Around 10:45, there were about 10 groups lined up, but we were able to get in on the first try. We were able to find seats around 11:15. Before entering, we were asked if we wanted the lunch menu or individual items, then we were seated and took our order before the next group was let in. It took a bit of time to get inside. We ordered individual items - beef tendon daikon, sashimi platter with 3 types of fish, seared salmon, chef's choice sushi, and rolled omelette, which came to 2078 yen for two people, almost like the lunch menu prices. The beef tendon daikon looked delicious in the photo, but there were only about 2-3 pieces the size of a thumb, with small pieces of konjac and thick fried tofu, so not much beef tendon. The daikon was tasty with a good broth flavor, but it was mostly daikon and egg, with almost no beef tendon. The sashimi platter had 5 types despite being advertised as 3, with 2 pieces of sea bream, 2 pieces of tuna, and 1 piece each of 3 other types. It seemed a bit random. The sushi had a lot of wasabi, which was quite strong and made your nose tingle. The chef's choice sushi was ordered for an extra 100 yen for following them on Instagram. The rolled omelette was the best part, with a strong broth flavor and a satisfying, firm texture. The prices were not very cheap, so it was a bit mysterious why there was such a long line.

I visited Stand Fuji in Tennoji, and I really liked it, so I decided to visit again. They have a great variety of seafood dishes at affordable prices, and everything is delicious! The prices are really good for Umeda. However, I was more impressed by the cost-effectiveness when I visited the Tennoji branch! It's probably due to the impact of rising prices, but it can't be helped! Thank you for the meal.

I came to have the lunch set meal. As always, the price is very reasonable. The rice is delicious, so I had 3 extra servings of rice. I arrived at 11:30 and waited for 20 minutes. The staff are very friendly. Please note that there is no cell phone reception in the back of the restaurant.

The boiled buri kama (yellowtail collar) was rich in fat and soaked in flavorful broth, excellent. It's so nice to be able to drink Dassai for 380 yen. The raw octopus with salt and sesame oil was trendy, and the sea grapes were consistently delicious, making the sake go down smoothly. The lotus root manju was good, but I don't see myself ordering it again. The torotaku sashimi was a first for me, and the slight sweetness might come from pickles or soy sauce. I didn't notice the seaweed until the last bite, but it was delicious when rolled up. The dashimaki tamago was overflowing with plenty of broth, perfect with ginger and grated radish. Even without soy sauce, it was delicious. Although I didn't order it this time, the sashimi platter for 980 yen is a must-try, with enough for about 2 people. I'm not sure what's included, but there was a lively shrimp skewered. The neighboring girls had the staff peel it for them, which was a nice touch. It's great when a busy restaurant provides that kind of service. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

Deep-fried fish ears ¥539

I arrived around 5:30 PM on a weekday and surprisingly there were only 3 or 4 groups waiting in line, so I decided to go in. This popular restaurant is known for its affordable and delicious seafood. The fish assortment included bonito, tuna belly, amberjack, sardines, and more, all very fresh! However, compared to last year (based on photos on Instagram), it seems like the quality has decreased due to price increases, and the portions seemed smaller when the dishes arrived. Personally, I was very impressed by the deluxe fried shrimp (;;) It was huge, with a generous amount of succulent meat and a crispy coating, very delicious! I highly recommend ordering this dish. Another highlight was the deep-fried fish ears! It was my first time trying squid ears tempura, and it had a nice crunchy texture without being too tough, and it came with a variety of tempura like eggplant, shishito peppers, and seaweed, making it a great value for money! By the way, the lemon sour cocktail was very weak in alcohol content (^^;) Overall, the restaurant seemed suitable for both large groups looking for a hearty meal and individuals looking for a casual drink.

The main fish dish was not captured in the photo (lol) but with this much volume for around 1100 yen, it's cheap! You can get a rice refill, but there are really a lot of side dishes. Sashimi and other a la carte orders start from 12 pm, which is a shame. I lined up from 10:30 am on a weekday, but there were already a lot of people lined up before opening. Anyway, I've always wanted to come here, so I'm happy to have finally made it. Payment is cash only. Thank you for the meal. ◌

When I passed by before, there was a long line, but this time I went at a later time and was able to get in easily. However, they had last order for grilled and simmered dishes at 9pm. I ordered salmon salt tataki since there was hardly any sashimi left. The salmon was surprisingly delicious, maybe because it was seared? It also came with salmon roe which was a nice touch. I also ordered oyster fry and the cabbage with dressing that came with it was also tasty! Although my visit was short, I would like to come back next time with a few people and order more dishes to enjoy it slowly. Their catchphrase is "a cheap restaurant", but is it really cheap if two dishes and a beer cost around 2000 yen?
