On the second night in Fukuoka, I visited a restaurant called "Tara Fuku" that seemed to appeal to foodies. I had made a reservation in advance for a table and some dishes. Due to the low squid catch in 2017, I made sure to order some. Fukuoka is known for its high-quality fish and reasonable prices, so I enjoyed a sashimi platter, homemade sesame marinated mackerel, and live squid sashimi (probably spear squid). The squid sashimi was so translucent and delicious, it was truly impressive. It was tender with a popping texture and a sweet taste. It felt almost wasteful to swallow it. I also enjoyed the mackerel with sesame dressing, which was flavorful and complemented the fish well. I also tried the famous iron plate gyoza and miso-marinated Itojima pork. I finished with grilled and simmered fish dishes, including silver cod marinated in miso, sea bream simmered in broth, and a simmered fish head (probably golden eye snapper). I indulged in the flavorful broth and enjoyed every bite. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience with lots of laughter and good food. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Good in a nostalgic Showa retro way. The music playing also gives off a Showa vibe with lots of oldies. The only downside is when AKB songs randomly play... it feels out of place and ruins the atmosphere. The food is delicious, but there are so many options that it's a bit confusing to know what to order. It was nice to be able to eat Pacific saury for the first time this year in early autumn!

I used this restaurant for a drinking party with friends. We visited without a reservation on a weekday, and it was quite busy. There were also some foreign customers. The interior of the restaurant is lively, with a counter and a tank of live fish. We started with a toast with beer. Unfortunately, they were sold out of live squid sashimi that day. We ordered potato salad, sashimi for two, grilled shiitake mushrooms, salt-grilled saury, pig's feet, pickled plums, cheese-grilled tofu, and mentaiko tamagoyaki. It seems like their specialty is fish dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A casual place where you can enjoy Fukuoka's nightlife. This is my third visit. The restaurant is bustling with many salarymen. It offers great value for money and is sure to please your companions. If you're looking to eat fish at a reasonable price, this is the place to go.

Today, guests came from Tokyo, so we went to this restaurant! I heard on TV that TOKIO's Matsumoto-san likes it... The inside of the restaurant has a counter, tables, and a spacious second floor with tatami seating! There were many customers, and the atmosphere was very lively! After looking at the menu, we ordered the following dishes: - Appetizer - Sesame Mackerel - Sesame Amberjack - Sashimi Platter - Squid Sashimi - Grilled Pork Harami - Tempura with Hakata Mentaiko - Nagasaki Unzen Ham - Spicy Lotus Root - Satsuma Age - Special Hakata Tonkotsu Yakisoba - Draft Beer - Sake Hanamasu - Shochu Mitsutake The menu is rich with various Kyushu specialties, which is great! There is also a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, perfect for drinkers! The sesame dressing on the mackerel and amberjack was refreshing with a hint of sweetness! The sashimi platter had a variety of options, thick slices, and no fishy smell, truly impressive! The squid sashimi was slightly disappointing as the flesh was whitish... We ended with tempura! The chewy texture of the squid paired perfectly with the dish! Towards the end, we switched to sake! The spicy lotus root and sweet potato tempura complemented each other perfectly... As expected! We finished with the famous Hakata grilled ramen... The thin noodles coated well with the pork bone broth, enhanced by the stir-frying process, making it even more flavorful and delicious! We enjoyed various Kyushu specialties at one restaurant, all of high quality! Before we knew it, we had a great time until closing time...! And even though there were only four of us, we drank a lot... Our bellies were full! We haven't even conquered half of the menu yet... Let's try more varieties!

The appearance is just like a warehouse! Inside, it's a calming space like an old folk house. There's no way the food isn't delicious♡ Quench your dry throat with beer, then switch to sake. Of course, we had local sake, and the selection was good. All the types of sake were delicious. Unfortunately, they didn't have fresh squid, but all the dishes were surprisingly delicious! The speed at which the staff brought the dishes was fast, the cost performance was good, and this is a highly recommended restaurant.

The day before, I received a confirmation call for my reservation and I booked the grilled squid and red snapper head soup at Yobiko. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was only one fish swimming in the tank, which ended up on our plates and those of another couple. I'm glad we made a reservation. The red snapper head soup was too much for two people to finish. In addition, the firefly squid marinated in vinegar and the chicken nanban were all very delicious, but the service was a bit slow probably because it's a popular restaurant. However, the drink service was very fast and seemed to be the priority.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, I used to visit this restaurant occasionally. When I suggested trying the live squid sashimi to my three colleagues who had come all the way to Fukuoka for a business trip, they were thrilled. Even though it was almost closing time, the staff kindly seated us at a table by the window. The live squid sashimi was offered at a great price, only 2,000 yen today. Some might think 2,000 yen for a whole squid is expensive, but it also comes with fried squid legs, so it feels like a good deal. The squid was sweet and delicious. We also ordered grilled chicken thighs and had quite a few beers, but it all came out to less than 4,000 yen per person. The cost performance is great! Maybe we should come back for drinks one evening soon.

I came to Fukuoka for a side job. Saturday night's drinking session is at Tarafuku Daimyo Store in Yobuko. The Kenika sashimi is clear and beautiful, and of course, deliciously fresh. The Mimis and Geso are served as tempura, along with sesame mackerel, thick-fried tofu from Itoshima, mentaiko rolled in dashi, and crispy green peppers. The sake I had was Aota and Hanmasu Kenika. It was a shame that the Kenika was small, but I was very satisfied with the meal. #FukuokaGourmet

I stopped by this restaurant because my friend recommended it, and I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere that catered to my love for drinking. I couldn't decide what to eat tonight, so I chose "Tara-fuku" as they offer both Mizutaki and Gomazaba, popular dishes in Fukuoka. The Mizutaki had a rich broth that was well-balanced and not too thick. The Gomazaba sauce was flavorful, and I even ended up using it for the bonito sashimi platter. Although not a casual dining place, the attention to detail in the service and the delicious food make it worth more than its price. I don't understand why it didn't receive a higher rating. Highly recommended.

Today, I wanted to eat delicious squid, so I went to a famous restaurant. Sesame mackerel for 913 yen - The mackerel with incredibly sweet sauce is a top menu item at a fresh Fukuoka izakaya. Vinegar tripe for 390 yen - It's been a while since I had vinegar tripe, it's a bit sour but delicious. 3 beers at 480 yen each. Unfortunately, the squid dish was sold out today. It's a shame, so I left early. The total bill was 3755 yen. I will definitely come back for revenge next time. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the usual squid and red snapper soup, which was incredibly delicious. However, the sashimi and red snapper tea pickles seemed quite overpriced. This izakaya is perfect for leisurely drinking with a bottle, and when you make a reservation, they ask how long you plan to drink. There's no strict 2-hour limit, which is very convenient.

This time, we had the option of choosing between a dish and a sashimi course with all-you-can-drink for ¥5500 at a farewell party for our company. Although it wasn't a private room, we were seated on the first floor in a tatami room. The choices were live squid sashimi or black wagyu sirloin steak, and I chose the squid since it was available that day. The course included fresh sashimi, grilled fish, tempura, and all were delicious. The tai meshi (sea bream rice) at the end was particularly good.

This is a review of a restaurant called "Yoru no Tenjin". It is a renovated house turned into a cozy bar, with a calm atmosphere. I ordered sashimi platter, hot pot, sesame mackerel, and fried chicken, along with some beer. The sesame mackerel was delicious, with the raw mackerel and sesame complementing each other well. The sashimi, including sand lance, was tasty but considering the price, the cost performance may not be the best. I added a hot water split with cloud sea around this time. The hot pot had a generous portion, with tender chicken and a light white broth that was tasty. I also ordered a Japanese sake called Yame's Aota, which was refreshing and delicious. Lastly, I had a delicious rice porridge to finish off the meal.

On the first evening of my trip to Fukuoka, I visited an izakaya in Daimyo. I made a reservation for Saturday at 7:00 PM and ordered the following: Sesame Mackerel (¥913), Mentaiko Tamagoyaki (¥693), Yariika (spear squid) from Yobuko (around ¥3000), Horse Sashimi (¥980), and Kagoshima Black Wagyu Sirloin Steak (¥2728). The sesame mackerel was incredibly delicious! The leftover squid legs were made into tempura. It would have been even better if the restaurant was non-smoking. Thank you for the meal!

I chose this restaurant because I could eat sesame mackerel, sesame amberjack, horse meat, and live squid sashimi, and it was only about 30 minutes from Hakata Station! All the food we ordered was delicious! We went on a Wednesday evening, and by around 6 pm, customers started coming in one after another. By the time we left at 7 pm, there were no empty seats in sight. So, I'm glad we made a reservation! It was a smoking restaurant, but when I requested to avoid the smell of cigarettes, they were considerate in seating us! I'm grateful!

If you don't reserve in advance, you might not get a table even on a weekday at 7 pm. If you're going for the squid, make sure to check beforehand! If you're coming from outside Fukuoka just for the squid, you might want to consider another option. It's recommended for those who want to experience cheap squid in Yobuko. They also make tempura with it. The sesame mackerel was delicious. The miso soup was good too. The total cost for one drink is around 6,000 to 7,000 yen. It might be a bit on the expensive side compared to the surrounding area, but considering the size of the squid in Yobuko, it's not too bad. The service was a bit slow even though the restaurant was full, but the turnover was quick, so it seemed busy.

Eating with guests from Tokyo. The menu is varied, the seasoning is good, and the portion size is just right. The Tokyo guests said, "This menu is only available in Fukuoka," and ordered the "Crispy Peppers." Don't underestimate it, this is really delicious! The crispy texture of the peppers, the seasoning of the minced meat, it's the best! I learned something good. I was having so much fun that I didn't take many photos, but everything we ordered was delicious.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is like a typical izakaya, but the sashimi is really delicious! I had squid and flounder sashimi, and the flounder sashimi was the best! The squid tempura was also incredibly tender with a crispy exterior, allowing me to fully enjoy the deliciousness of the ingredients. ♬

It seems like there are multiple branches, but this time I went to Tarafuku in Daimyo. It is said to be a renovated old folk house, and it has a quaint atmosphere from the entrance, with a calm and nice interior. There are counter seats as well, and there were people drinking alone. I was looking forward to the live squid sashimi this time, so I had reserved a seat and squid only. However, on the day, the staff told me that only small ones were available, but I decided to order as planned. It was indeed small, but since I don't often eat this in Tokyo, I was satisfied. I also ordered sashimi, simmered dishes, and grilled collar. The taste was excellent, with fresh sashimi. However, the portion size is a bit small. As someone with a big appetite, I found it a bit lacking. They also have motsunabe (offal hot pot), so next time, I might focus on ordering motsunabe to enhance the satisfaction. I liked the taste and atmosphere, so whether it's a date, with friends, or alone, this place is versatile, and I now have another restaurant I want to visit regularly in Fukuoka.

I went to an izakaya in Daimyo. The tatami room had a cozy sunken kotatsu where you can stretch your legs. The all-you-can-drink option started at 1500 yen, which included draft beer and good shochu. The photos show simmered beef tendons, chicken neck, and lotus root. I couldn't take many photos because I was too busy drinking. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal!
