The other day, after participating in a walking event starting and ending at Koga Station, my daughter and I went to Hakata for lunch. While walking and looking for a place to eat, I remembered a restaurant in the "300 Steps Alley" called "Motsunabe Ikei" in the JRJP Hakata Building. This chain of motsunabe restaurants has its main store in Haruyoshi and also has branches in Fukuoka and Tokyo. I recalled having a casual drink at the JRJP Hakata Building branch about 4 years ago. Just as we were about to enter the restaurant, my wife, who did not participate in the walking event, messaged us asking if she could join us, so we decided to wait for her before ordering the motsunabe. The specialty of this restaurant is the "seared motsunabe" (starting from 1680 yen per person, available for 2 people or more). The motsu is seared before being added to the hot pot. "Ikei" is said to be the originator of this style. Shortly after my wife arrived, the motsunabe was served. We heated it on the table's IH heater, and it started boiling quickly. I tried the blended flavor of miso and soy sauce, as well as the layered flavor. The seared motsu released its fat, giving it a crispy and fragrant taste that was enjoyable both on the tongue and in the nose. The soft round intestines were especially delicious. When the ingredients were gone, we added champon noodles, a classic way to finish motsunabe. We also had the miso simmered beef tendon, which paired well with the sake we ordered, including "Tanaka Rokugo," "Wakana," and "Higashiichi." It had been a while since I had motsunabe, but I found the searing style to be quite unique and enjoyable. Motsunabe allows you to eat plenty of vegetables like cabbage and garlic chives. Next time, I'll definitely try the seared motsunabe again if I have the chance.

While staying in Oita and on my way to Saga, I stopped at Hakata Station for lunch. Among the many crowded restaurants, I found a seat at this place. I ordered the soy sauce flavored motsunabe. The hot pot was filled with plenty of motsu (offal) and vegetables such as cabbage and leeks. The clear soup had a rich flavor of motsu. The tender vegetables and motsu were very delicious, but I ended up getting too full and couldn't finish it, so I'll save it for next time. It was a delicious motsunabe.

Onekei, where you can enjoy motsunabe for lunch, is conveniently located near Hakata Station and easily accessible from the Chuo Parking Lot. I came across it in the mapuru Fukuoka guidebook and was excited to try it. They offer three types of broth: soy sauce, miso, and a blend of soy sauce and miso. I ordered the miso flavor! The motsu here is marinated, smoked, and then seared, resulting in a deliciously tender and smoky texture. We also ordered Chanpon noodles for two as a finishing dish, and we left feeling fully satisfied after a hearty meal in the middle of the day.

I have been to this restaurant a few times, and their specialty is the seared motsu (offal) hot pot. The seared motsu is not too rich and has a delicious umami flavor. However, unfortunately, this time when I went, instead of the usual round intestines, there were some unidentified organs mixed in. It may be due to the rising cost of ingredients, but it was disappointing.

My cousin came from Tokyo and said she wanted to eat motsunabe, so I came to Motsunabe Ikei recommended by my friend. I've been to many motsunabe restaurants before, but this one was by far the most delicious. I tried the soy sauce flavor and the grilled motsu was amazing! My cousin occasionally eats motsunabe in Tokyo, but she was so impressed by the motsunabe at Ikei. I'm glad I brought her here! The staff were also very friendly. Next time, I want to try the layered flavor of soy sauce and miso.

I stayed in Hakata for 5 nights but I didn't get to try all the local specialties! Finally, it was our last dinner and even though my family was already full, they insisted on trying motsunabe at Ikki, which was close to our hotel. It was close to 9:00 pm on a weekday, so the restaurant was relatively empty. Maybe not many people eat hot pot during the hot season. My family couldn't eat anymore, but I wasn't very hungry either, so I just ordered the motsunabe in soy sauce flavor and salted kombu cucumber as a side dish. Oh boy, motsunabe is really delicious. I don't get many chances to eat it living in Eastern Japan, as there aren't many restaurants that serve it. Even though I wasn't very hungry, I finished it in no time. I couldn't try their specialty, the seared motsu, this time. They also had interesting toppings and sets for the hot pot, so I definitely want to come back when I'm hungry and try more. It was a satisfying last dinner in Fukuoka. Thank you for the meal!

I went to the motsunabe restaurant "Ikkei" at Hakata Station. This place serves seared motsunabe, and the charred aroma adds a nice touch. It goes really well with beer or lemon sour. The ponzu sauce for the appetizer was also delicious and refreshing!

It's fatty and firm! "Beef tendon skewers" It caught my eye the moment I entered the restaurant! It's simmering on the table, so I had to order it right away! The spicy miso is delicious! "Beef Achilles tendon skewers" The crunchy texture is excellent! "Wagyu thigh rare grilled with ponzu sauce" It's sweet and the ponzu sauce makes it refreshing to eat! "Grilled motsunabe" The smoky flavor from the charcoal is amazing! The soup has a layered flavor of soy sauce and miso! For the finale, I had champon noodles! Ah, I'm so full! I thoroughly enjoyed the night in Fukuoka!

This shop is quite famous in Fukuoka, and although I had been there before, I couldn't get in because I hadn't made a reservation. Luckily, this time when I happened to pass by the shop, the waiter said there was a seat available. My wife doesn't like to eat, so I ate two servings alone! I was really satisfied! I don't think there is such a dish in Hong Kong, so I have to eat more!

Enjoyed day drinking at the popular motsunabe (offal hot pot) izakaya "Motsunabe Ikei" in Fukuoka. Located in JRJP Hakata Building, just a 3-minute walk from Hakata Station, this restaurant on the basement floor has a spacious seating for 70. As soon as you enter, you'll see simmered beef tendon skewers and chicken wings, which are a must-try! We ordered one of each, the regular miso flavor and the spicy miso flavor. The texture is chewy and the flavors are rich, perfect for pairing with drinks. And of course, we couldn't miss their specialty motsunabe for day drinking! The offal is cooked just right, and once the vegetables have softened, it's ready to eat. In just a few minutes, the soup starts to soak up the flavors of the offal, along with the sweetness of the cabbage. The offal is lightly seared, giving it a crispy texture and a fragrant aroma. The rich broth that seeps into your body on a hungover morning...! The plump and fragrant offal, along with the concentrated flavors of the vegetables, left us completely satisfied. It was a great experience to enjoy delicious motsunabe and snacks with sake in the morning. Thank you for the meal!

I sometimes use this place for lunch. I always order the rice set with the Golden Ratio-style ramen, but recently, maybe due to an increase in inbound customers during lunchtime, the amount of pepper sprinkled from the start was more than usual, making it too spicy to drink the soup. It might have been just a one-time thing, but I would appreciate it if they could change to a style where customers can sprinkle pepper according to their preference in the future.

On the second day of my Fukuoka trip, I went to a restaurant known for serving a unique motsunabe (offal hot pot) made with seared offal. Unfortunately, I found out that there are also branches in Tokyo. I had made a reservation in advance. The restaurant is located in a station building, so the interior is not very spacious. I ordered both the soy sauce-flavored and layered flavors of the seared offal hot pot. The seared offal had a fragrant aroma, but once it was stewed, I didn't notice much of a difference in taste or aroma. The cabbage was deliciously sweet. The soy sauce flavor was straightforward and light, while the layered flavor was more complex and rich, which I personally preferred. Even the champon noodles for the finishing touch were delicious.

It was Sunday and I was in Fukuoka. I had a delicious oil ramen for lunch and was feeling good. In the evening, I had some errands to run so I passed the time by going to the sauna. Once my errands were done, I met up with my wife. She mentioned she wanted to have motsunabe (tripe hot pot) so I searched near Hakata Station and found a place that served seared motsunabe. I made a reservation for 6:00 PM and we arrived at the restaurant together. We were seated, looked at the menu, and decided to order the miso-flavored seared motsunabe for two. I had a non-alcoholic drink while my wife had plum wine with soda. We were served vinegar tripe as a starter, which I enjoyed. My wife ordered seaweed cucumber as well. The hot pot arrived and we started cooking it on the stove. After the vegetables were cooked, we dug in. The soup was light and tasty, not as strong as I expected. The seared tripe was delicious, with a nice crispy texture. The vegetables and miso flavor complemented the dish well. We were full by the end, so we skipped adding champon noodles to finish the meal. My wife ordered another drink and by the time we finished, the hot pot ingredients were gone. We were warm and sweating from the heat. We paid around 6,000 yen in total, which seemed reasonable considering the location. Overall, I thought it was a good meal for the price and I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal. We will visit again.

I personally like Ikkei's seared motsunabe in Hakata, so I visited the JRJP store which is conveniently located near Hakata Station for a quick stop on the way back. I ordered motsunabe with soy sauce base and seared motsu topping. After a short wait, the hot pot arrived! The smell of garlic and the tender motsu coming from the pot was amazing. I waited while it simmered, adding alcohol. When the chives started to wilt, it was time to eat. Normally I would order the kasane flavor, but this time I opted for a lighter soy sauce base due to having had rich dishes in Hakata recently. The soy sauce base mixed with the vegetables and motsu was delicious! As the vegetables cooked and the motsu fat seeped into the pot, the flavor became richer and more delicious. People who prefer strong flavors from the start might enjoy miso or kasane flavor. The soy sauce base had a great taste, and as the ingredients mixed gradually, the flavor became richer, which was nice. I forgot to take a picture, but the final addition of rice and egg mixed in was excellent (*´꒳`*) Once you try Ikkei's seared motsu, you'll get addicted. This time, I finished all the soup and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal♪

When it comes to favorite motsunabe in Hakata, Ichikei is the best! It's a great deal to have lunch at Ichikei at Hakata Station! I visited Ikei, a famous restaurant known for inventing grilled motsu hot pot, for lunch. The place was bustling with company parties and groups of women. I sat at the counter and had motsu hot pot and champon noodles as a closer. The flavors were light and the motsu hot pot was not heavy, making it a perfect choice for lunch. However, I was disappointed that I wasn't greeted or acknowledged for a while after entering the restaurant.

I visited during lunchtime. I ordered the recommended dish, "Seared Offal Hot Pot, Kasane Aji," which can be ordered for one person. Yam shochu and grilled mackerel at Hakata Station, 300 steps from the station in a side street, Ikkei-san is a must-visit restaurant. During Golden Week, especially on the day of the Hakata Dontaku festival, every restaurant had long lines, but somehow we managed to get in here just in time. Maybe it's because it's a bit hard to find from the station? However, after that, they started turning away anyone without a reservation. We were lucky to get a complimentary dish of chicken skin with ponzu sauce. For motsunabe, we went with the classic soy sauce flavor. I didn't know that Hakata motsunabe uses several types of motsu. I added a portion of champon noodles, which turned out to be a lot for one person. But I managed to finish it all in a good way. All of this for 3000 yen, thank you for the meal.

Before boarding the Shinkansen, I searched for a motsunabe restaurant near the station and found "Motsu Nabe Ikei JRJP Hakata Building Branch." I had never tried grilled motsunabe before, so I decided to order it. While waiting for the hot pot to be ready, I enjoyed some highball and played a game of lottery. The motsunabe had plenty of sesame oil, sesame, and green onions, which was good, but it was too salty due to the excessive amount of salt. I tried to scoop out some of the salt with my chopsticks, but it was still too salty. I also ordered regular motsu in addition to the grilled motsu, and I personally preferred the regular motsu. The highball had a strong carbonation, which was nice. Thank you for the meal.
