I went there because the reviews were good! The restaurant is designed like an old folk house with a small counter and tiny tables, so it's quite narrow. There weren't many customers, but it took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. The broth is rich with a strong saltiness, and the noodles have a soft texture like Hakata udon.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and it lived up to the recommended reputation! I ordered the sesame miso udon. It was delicious with yuzu pepper added. I would like to visit again at night to try the green bean tempura and have some drinks.

There were about 5 groups lined up, so we were able to get in fairly quickly. The people waiting in line and the atmosphere inside the restaurant were stylish, so I felt it was worth the wait. I tried their popular sesame miso udon and udon with burdock tempura. The noodles were slightly thin, and the broth was rich, but it was delicious.

I casually visited this place alone for a drink. The tamagoyaki here is my favorite. The overflowing dashi broth and fluffy texture are the best! As a finishing touch, I had the chilled nanban udon. I learned that nanban refers to green onions.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday evening around 8 pm based on a recommendation. It was conveniently located within walking distance from Yakuin Odori station on the Nanakuma line from Hakata station. The restaurant was about 80% full when I arrived. Since it was nighttime, I was a bit worried about not being able to drink alcohol, but the friendly couple who runs the place made me feel welcome. I ordered sesame miso udon and rice at the counter seat. The aroma of the sesame soup was very gentle and delicious. It was a warm soup with a rich and fragrant broth. The noodles were thin and glossy, different from the usual thick noodles, and very tasty. The udon came with two grilled chicken and leek meatballs. After finishing the udon, I poured the remaining soup over the rice. The rice came with miso and radish pickles, which were both exquisite. The combination of rice and soup was perfect, so I finished all the soup. The couple running the restaurant was very friendly, and I felt like I would like to come back for lunch or evening drinks next time. I will definitely visit again.

(2023.06.08) The day after returning from Tokyo, which was a hot summer day, was a rainy and chilly day that didn't even reach 20°C. I had some office work to catch up on from my business trip, so after finishing my morning appointments, I decided to have a quick lunch. I chose a restaurant near Yakuin Rokkaku called "Udon Kineura," which is known for its unique menu item called "Sesame Miso Udon." Along with the nearby "Manda Udon," it is a popular spot with long lines on weekends. The restaurant, located on the second floor of a building with a large tree as a landmark, has a cozy atmosphere with 3 tables, 10 seats, and a counter with 5 seats. The ceiling, left unfinished, adds a touch of "stylishness."
For lunch on weekdays, they offer a "Donburi Set" with choices of oyakodon, ebi tendon, and katsudon, each served with a mini udon. I decided to go for the oyakodon set with a large serving of udon. Although it was mentioned that it might take some time to prepare since they cook it after you order, the oyakodon was served in about 10 minutes. The dish had a rich and flavorful sauce with tender and fluffy eggs, but the portion size was a bit smaller than expected. Despite that, it was still satisfying.
The udon noodles were thin with a wheaty flavor, and the broth, which was darker than usual for a Hakata udon shop, had a strong aroma of bonito flakes, giving it a unique taste.

This is also a hidden gem of a restaurant. The entrance on a rainy day is very picturesque. When I entered, it wasn't too crowded, probably because of the rain. There were about 4 other customers already there. It's a cozy, quiet place where you can enjoy your udon in peace. I ordered the katsu-don set for 880 yen. When it arrived, both the udon and the katsu-don were served in bowls of similar size. The portion size seemed just right. The udon noodles were thinner than I expected, but they were chewy and reminded me of the udon dumplings I used to eat as a child. The katsu-don had a mild flavor, not too salty, with a hint of dashi. The pork cutlet was tender. The udon here is something I've had many times before. One of their popular dishes is the "sesame miso" udon, which is listed at the top of the menu, so it must be a signature dish. I definitely want to come back and try it next time.

I had the kashiwa rice set and it was so delicious~ I couldn't decide between onigiri, so next time I'll try the seaweed onigiri!! The curry udon was also really tasty with plenty of meat in it~ The noodles were on the thinner side! Thank you for the meal!!

I climbed the stairs to the second floor and finally visited a popular restaurant that I've been curious about for a few years! The space from the stairs to the entrance of the restaurant is well-designed. Luckily, I didn't have to wait in line that day and could enter right away. They have a variety of appetizers and it's a cozy udon izakaya. I couldn't decide between their famous sesame miso udon and the katsu-don set that is only available during lunchtime. I ended up choosing the katsu-don set. The katsu-don was elegant with fluffy and creamy egg topping, and the dashi broth was delicious. The udon had a tasty broth and the noodles were smooth and chewy. There are many delicious lunch options in Yakuin area.

First visit. Udon restaurant in Yakuin. I've always wanted to try the udon here and finally made it. The noodles and broth were incredibly delicious! It was just my taste! This time, I had the egg drop udon with an extra egg on top. I was so happy while eating it. I will definitely go back again.

This is a shop on the 2nd floor of a building. There is no name board, so customers are called in order of arrival. You order and cook inside the shop, so it's best to visit when you have plenty of time. They have a variety of excellent dishes, so this time I ordered the dashimaki. It was fluffy and delicious. Then the main dish arrived. The udon noodles are slightly thin but have a good texture. It reminded me of a shop in Buzen Urauchi-kai. The broth was also gentle. The curry udon has shiitake mushrooms, which I don't like, but the broth was good and not overpowered by the curry. I would like to try the rice bowl next time.

We went to the restaurant around 1:30 pm on Sunday with two people. The store is located on the second floor, and customers are lined up halfway up the stairs. Instead of writing down your name at the entrance, it's the type of shop where they simply guide you in the order you lined up. While waiting, you can smell the scent of eel coming from the eel restaurant across the street. After waiting for about 40 minutes, we were seated inside the restaurant. We sat on a two-person table and ordered meat shigure udon for 900 yen (including tax) and kitsune udon for 650 yen (including tax) along with a nori roll onigiri for 150 yen (including tax). It took about 20 minutes for the noodles to be boiled after ordering, and the udon was brought to us. The noodles were slightly thin. The broth was on the richer side and very delicious, making you want to drink more and more. The beef was cooked in a non-sweet seasoning and went well with grated daikon radish. It was very delicious.

I really wanted to eat stamina tsukemen, but they were out of it today, so I ordered curry nanban udon and kashiwa-meshi instead. Luckily, the curry had a strong broth and the shiitake mushrooms added a nice flavor. It was delicious! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy, with a hidden gem vibe. Next time, I'll try the katsudon!

◯ A famous restaurant in Yakuin that I had never been to before
◯ Conveniently open until 9 pm
◯ There was a short line just before 8 pm, finally able to enter the restaurant, but the rice dishes were sold out (disappointing)
◯ The interior has a nice atmosphere like a Japanese restaurant
◯ Besides udon, they also have a variety of izakaya-style dishes. This time, I ordered the popular Curry Nanban and Sesame Miso
◯ Both dishes were simple, wholesome, and comforting, giving a warm and nourishing feeling. Personally, I recommend the Curry Nanban for its easy-to-eat appeal
◯ The deliciousness may not be exceptional enough to wait in line for.

Fukuoka: A shop in Chuo-ku, Yakuin. Arrived about 5 minutes after opening. The place was already full with just me. I thought I might have to share a table with someone since only 4-person tables were available, but it was okay. I ordered the popular sesame miso udon and kashiwa rice. I like it better with yuzu pepper added, it completes the udon. Also, the noodles were tied together! It felt lucky ^_^ [Shop Name] Udon KineMura [Address] 2-14-28 Adekattsu Building 2F, Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture [Business Hours] 11:30-15:00, 17:30-22:00 [Budget] 1000-2000 yen [Order] - Sesame miso udon: 930 yen - Kashiwa rice: 200 yen

Recommended by my parents, I tried this restaurant three times. The first time I had curry nanban, the second time I had katsudon. Today, for the third time, I ordered the signature dish, sesame miso udon, beef tendon stew, and rolled omelette. The sesame miso udon had a perfect combination of sesame flavor and rich miso, living up to its reputation as a signature dish.

Udon Kine-mura in Yakuin is a retro-style udon restaurant located up a flight of stairs. During lunchtime, there is often a line of customers. I visited for the first time and felt a warm atmosphere inside the restaurant. I tried their most popular dish, the sesame miso udon. The broth was gentle with a hint of miso flavor and a sesame aroma. The noodles were flat and thin, without the chewiness of Hakata noodles. The dish also contained chicken dumplings, green onions, and fried tofu. I thought it would be perfect to eat after drinking alcohol. For more information, you can search on Instagram ➡️【ryoki.jp】. Fukuoka is all about udon! There seem to be more udon shops than soba shops. The specialty is miso udon. I thought it would have a strong miso flavor, but it was surprisingly light and very easy to eat. The dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) was also fluffy. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited around 1:00 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. Normally there is a line, but I was able to get in quickly because of the current situation and being alone. I ordered and in about 15 minutes, the burdock tempura udon arrived. You can tell they make it after you order. The udon noodles were smooth and you could see that they were hand-made, with some long, short, and thin ones. The burdock tempura was crispy and delicious.

I've always wanted to try this udon restaurant. This area is a fierce battleground for udon bars like Utau Inaho and Manden. Today, I had a non-alcoholic drink and tried the egg curry udon. The outside is firm, but the inside has a liquid egg that is absolutely exquisite. The curry has a nice consistency and is delicious. It's the kind you put rice in at the end. The udon is also delicious, but the old-fashioned interior, calming background music, and friendly staff make it really nice! I vow to come back next time for drinks. The serving is quite slow, so it's recommended when you have some extra time. Thank you for the meal~
