There are various types of daifuku and it's hard to choose. I tried to take a nice picture of the cross-section but failed. I think I can take a better picture when I cut the frozen one at home. The cream and red bean paste inside are delicious.

The Kono Gojodo's Konoike Fireworks, known as the Fruit Parfait Daifuku, stands out from other fruit daifuku. The perfect balance of mochi, bean paste, whipped cream, and fruit in terms of quantity and flavor creates a delicious taste that brings a smile with each bite. It could be a candidate for your last supper.

My daughter, who always buys things at Hankyu Department Store, said that the store is no longer there! So after visiting Ishikiri Shrine, I had her stop by the main store. Since it was Children's Day, I thought it would be more crowded, but it was relatively empty. The parking lot was incredibly small, and after struggling to find a good spot, I finally parked. ⭐️ Konoike Fireworks 4 pieces 450 yen each ⭐️ Mediterranean Lemon Cream Daifuku 280 yen Oh, the store looks quite different from the photos my friend took when she visited the main store before... It seems like they renovated it. The interior is lovely, and it doesn't look like a traditional Japanese sweets shop. It has a stylish cafe-like atmosphere. And they even have a Konoike Fireworks vending machine at the storefront, so you can eat them anytime, 24 hours a day. Convenient Konoike Fireworks! I wish it was closer... We decided to buy them and eat them at home right away. I thought we had plenty of time, about 3 hours, but the pineapple was still partially frozen, which made it cold and delicious. The Uchiko Mochi was soft, and the white bean paste, cream, and fruits mixed together to create a delicious fruit Daifuku that tastes amazing no matter when you eat it. I should have bought another one... I asked the staff if the Hankyu Department Store store was really gone, and they said that they still sell Konoike Fireworks at the first-floor event area, so I felt relieved! My daughter can still buy them for me (*^o^*) From now on, since we visit Ishikiri Shrine every year, we will stop by the main store on our way back.

The advertisement that you can also buy it from a vending machine is interesting for the Hongike Fireworks. It said to be ready to eat after 30 minutes to 1 hour of natural thawing. I waited for about 45 minutes and tried it, the mochi was chewy, the fruit inside was a bit sherbet-like, and it was delicious. It had a satisfying texture more like a parfait than a fruit daifuku. In winter, it might be better to let it thaw naturally for over an hour.

Kawachiya is now open~ It's October. Please continue to support us this month~ Now, the closest and most famous confectionery shop from my house had been closed for a major renovation. The renovated shop had a completely different atmosphere, making it a bit intimidating to enter, so I kept postponing my visit. I was starting to think they no longer sold traditional Japanese sweets due to the new look of the shop. Finally, I mustered up the courage to go in. Oh, they do sell traditional sweets! Hooray! Although they were tucked away in a corner, they still had traditional Japanese sweets for sale! Just as I was feeling happy about this, the shop owner's wife greeted me. I'm sorry for not visiting sooner. I had mistakenly thought you no longer sold traditional Japanese sweets… It seems that many longtime customers had the same concerns. Since it was during the equinoctial week, I bought some equinox dango and fruit daifuku. I also couldn't resist getting the pistachio and lemon cream(?) daifuku. I can't quite remember the name, but the taste was spot on. The white fig daifuku was the most expensive item at 650 yen. It might seem pricey compared to the fruit daifuku, but it contains a whole fig, so I hope you understand. The "Koike's Fireworks" is the most popular item, featuring a variety of fruits. There's even a vending machine outside dedicated to it. The white fig daifuku is delicious, but personally, I prefer the regular fig daifuku for 600 yen. It's a seasonal item, so it might not be available anymore. I highly recommend the pistachio flavor. It's a must-try for pistachio lovers. The lemon cream taste bursts in your mouth, followed by the rich pistachio flavor spreading throughout. It's delicious! They still sell red rice and mochi, so that's a relief.

Osaka, Hankyu Department Store main store. At the event venue. Limited time sale.

An incredibly named daifuku. Very, very delicious. Inside, there is red bean paste, cream, and lots of fruits. The balance of sourness and sweetness is good. Depending on where you eat it, the fruits are different, so you can enjoy different flavors. Personally, the combination of raspberry, cream, and red bean paste is the best.
A dish that I would like to eat again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

When I passed by the Sumidagawa Station and saw the sign for Gojodo, I decided to visit the main store after a year. It seems like they have renovated the store, giving it a stylish and lovely atmosphere! However, when I entered the store, I was disappointed to find that there weren't many items available. I couldn't buy the pistachio daifuku on its own, it had to be purchased as a set with other daifuku. They only had three types of fruit daifuku - fireworks, fig, and muscat. Isn't part of the fun of wagashi choosing which fruit to have? That was missing. I bought a rum raisin yokan, but the package had a "chestnut" sticker on it, which was very confusing. And when I got home, there was no food labeling sticker on the package. This makes it difficult to give as a gift. Additionally, I saw a photo of a delicious-looking dessert on an A4 poster, but when I ordered it, they said they didn't have it (castella and red bean paste sandwich). It would be better if they didn't put up posters in prominent places for items they don't have. Despite being the main store, it lacks a certain charm. It would be nice if there were more things to look forward to. Maybe they were sold out around lunchtime? If so, having sold-out signs would be helpful for future visits. It was disappointing that they didn't have nerikiri and had few fresh sweets other than fruit daifuku. However, the fig daifuku I had when I got home was really delicious.

I was informed about this Daifuku by a subordinate at work and had the opportunity to purchase it. The box and wrapping are fittingly festive with a fireworks theme. It's really exciting. The "Koike Fireworks" Daifuku is filled with blueberry, banana, raspberry, pineapple, orange, cream, and sweet bean paste. I wonder how they manage to wrap it so beautifully... The fusion of Western elements like fruits, cream, and sponge cake with traditional Japanese sweet bean paste and mochi is impressive. It truly feels like a Japanese-style fruit parfait.

I tried twice. First, I went by car to a nearby golf practice range but couldn't find it. Next, I went by bicycle to consult with the bank. Oh, it's under renovation. They sell Koiike fireworks at the vending machine, but I can't take it out because I'm on a bicycle. I'll bring a cool pack and try again. Oh, my wife bought it in Shin-Osaka. It was delicious with lots of fruits. I also checked at Shin-Osaka Station when posting, but there was a souvenir event at the main store? I will post from the main store as there is no registration. Thank you for the meal.

When I went to buy Konoike Fireworks before, they were sold out. I was hesitant to go again because I wouldn't want them to be sold out again. Now that they have reopened after renovation, I heard that there is a Konoike Fireworks vending machine at the storefront, so I decided to go check it out. They were not sold out this time, so I bought some. However, they were frozen. I was wondering how they would taste frozen, but after thawing them properly, they were delicious! The packaging is cute, and I think they would make a great gift. It would be even better if they were a bit cheaper though.

I bought a Fruit Daifuku + α takeout at Gojodo in Higashi-Osaka City, Koiike. I intended to buy only three items: Cream Parfait Daifuku Koiike Fireworks, Mediterranean Lemon Cream Daifuku, and Chestnut Steamed Yokan Daifuku, but I couldn't resist the delicious-looking yokan and ended up buying it too (^∇^) First, I tried the Koiike Fireworks, which is the shop's recommended item. It is larger than the other daifuku and contains blueberries, oranges, banana raspberries, and pineapples inside, just like a fruit parfait. Next, I tried the Lemon Cream Daifuku, which turned out to be quite lemony, but refreshing and delicious. The Chestnut Yokan has plenty of chestnuts inside and is not too sweet. I think it would go perfectly with a warm green tea. I tried my best to cut the Koiike Fireworks for a cross-section photo, but I couldn't figure out how to cut it to make the fruits look beautiful.

My mom bought it for me without having to wait in line, which was rare. I had never tried it before, just heard about it, so I was happy to finally taste it. It might be best to eat it partially frozen◎ It was delicious with lots of fruit chunks◎ I shared half of it, but it was so tasty that I felt greedy and wanted to eat a whole one by myself next time.

Kawachiya is located about a 5-minute walk away. If you hit the traffic lights, maybe 7 minutes. I have been working at the office in Higashi-Osaka for 27 years, now entering my 28th year. Since I came here, I have always bought sweets from this place. The "zenbei" senbei is very delicious, and the red rice is also very tasty. I always get my mochi for New Year's here. Recently, the beautiful daughter has been working hard, especially the fruit daifuku has become the shop's signature item. While Kawachiya is known for the "zenbei" senbei, the "Koike Fireworks" are a famous specialty that is often featured on TV and even has a store in Hankyu Department Store. The shop is always busy with customers. You have to make a reservation to get the "Koike Fireworks" at the store. They had figs in season, so I bought the fig daifuku and the fig dessert called "White Owl." I wanted to try a cross-section shot, but the doorbell rang, and while I was fetching the package, my wife had already cut them up with a knife... It was a complete mess. It was so bad that I didn't even feel like taking a picture. It was as bad as to make me feel sorry for Gojodou. If Ninomiya Kinjiro were here, he would definitely be angry at the sight. But the taste, well, it's from the famous Gojodou, so of course, it's delicious. It's so delicious that it made me feel even more sorry. They are closed on Tuesdays, so tomorrow is their regular holiday. Maybe I should go buy something the day after tomorrow. The "Mino Mino" yokan is also quite stylish.

I purchased as a Mother's Day gift, a little early. I bought "Koike Fireworks" and the limited-time "Tea Strawberry" for my mother and mother-in-law. I also bought some for myself. The Koike Fireworks had a perfect blend of red bean paste, whipped cream, and fruit. The limited-time Tea Strawberry was sweeter and tastier than I expected. I would like to purchase them again at events or other occasions.

On a Saturday morning, I went with my best friend to 【Koike Hanabi】. A big round daifuku that was soft and fluffy, filled with smooth red bean paste, plenty of whipped cream, and colorful fruits like pineapple, banana, orange, blueberry, and raspberry. The contrast in textures between the chewy mochi, creamy red bean paste, and airy whipped cream was delightful. The contrast in flavors between the milky cream and sweet-sour fruits was also wonderful. A small sponge cake hidden inside added a nice touch. When you take a big bite, it feels like you're eating a fruit parfait. This is delicious, I love it. 【Uji Matcha Cream Daifuku】 A small round daifuku with a vibrant green matcha color. The harmony between the mochi, matcha paste, and whipped cream was well-balanced. The rich matcha flavor stood out even with the generous amount of cream. This is delicious. 【Steamed Chestnut Yokan】 The texture was soft and moist, rather than chewy. It felt more like a firm red bean paste than yokan, with a fantastic melt-in-your-mouth quality. The chestnut was also moist, creating a seamless blend with the yokan. A hint of saltiness enhanced the aftertaste. The smaller size made it easy to eat. 【Zen'e Monaka】 Inside the box were separately wrapped monaka shells and sweet red bean paste. You assemble it yourself just before eating. The crispy and fragrant shell paired perfectly with the sweet and glossy red bean paste. The contrast in textures was great, and it was delicious. The signature item, Koike Hanabi, can be shipped frozen to other regions. It's a great gift for celebrations.

Located near Kawachiya is Gojodo, famous for its "Koike no Hanabi" (fireworks). It's just a little over a 5-minute walk from Kawachiya. Previously, this distance was one I would never walk (unhealthy lifestyle), but now it feels like a stroll in the backyard. So, I stopped by the other day on my walk. I tried the fruit daifuku, which had a salted lemon and sakura cream filling. The owner's father is a traditional Japanese sweets craftsman, while the daughter adds a touch of Western influence. The fruit daifuku was delicious, but the recommended item at Kawachiya is the "Zenbei Senbei." For Kawachiya, this shop's "Zenbei Senbei" is the best. The crispy texture of the senbei and the delicious filling are top-notch. They hadn't been serving it for a while, which made me quite sad, but recently they have been consistently offering it. It's so delicious! Yum!

I finally went to Gojyoudo, a place I've been curious about, to buy a Kounoike Hanabi (fruit daifuku) and a strawberry daifuku. The strawberry daifuku I was looking for uses Nara's "Kotohana" strawberries. It costs 400 yen, which is quite expensive compared to the usual 200-300 yen for strawberry daifuku. The daifuku itself is on the smaller side. The mochi is firm and slightly chewy. The red bean paste is used sparingly but still has a strong presence. The strawberry has a vivid aroma, strong sweetness and acidity, and the seeds add a nice crunchy texture. It was delicious, but I finished it in just 2 bites... The Kounoike Hanabi is quite large and costs 420 yen. It's about the size of an onigiri and feels quite heavy. It's filled with pineapples, bananas, raspberries, blueberries, oranges, and plenty of whipped cream! It's a frozen product, so it's recommended to wait about an hour before eating. The fruits inside are partially frozen, giving a crunchy texture. I personally think it's tastier when all the fruits are thawed. Even people who don't like red bean paste will definitely enjoy this daifuku! It looks beautiful too, and if you receive it as a souvenir, it will surely lift your spirits! 😄

It's a mix of joy and fear as the Tigers win in the open tournament. While I usually satisfy myself with discounted sweets from the supermarket, sometimes I indulge in a little luxury, like jumping off the stage at Kiyomizu Temple, out of human nature. So, on my way back from shopping, I stopped by the main store of Gojyoudou. There is a convenient parking lot with space for 5-6 cars including in front of the store.
[Sweets I received]
Prices are tax-inclusive
- Nori agar jelly: @324 yen x 2 (only 2 left around 13:30)
- Mediterranean lemon cream daifuku: @195 yen x 1
- Raspberry daifuku: @195 yen x 1
The "Nori agar jelly" is a agar jelly that goes well with tea, containing dried fruits such as cranberries, figs, apricots, and nuts like walnuts, pistachios, and cashews. They are wrapped in the gentle sweetness of domestic natural honey, creating a delicious texture and depth of flavor.
The "Mediterranean lemon cream daifuku" and "Raspberry daifuku" also have a refreshing acidity and sweetness, combined with the chewy texture of the dough. They are delicious.
Aside from the signature "Kouike Hanabi," there are other great items available. Thank you very much. I will definitely come back for another little luxury treat.

#Delicious! Nara's traditional strawberry daifuku#Fruit sweets Japanese confectionery shop#Delicious Koiike fireworks in the snowy night sky!❗January 2021 (This is a draft review)Hello! Today is my day for visiting businesses and giving out souvenirs for the New Year. I got the Nara's traditional strawberry daifuku and Koiike fireworks as souvenirs. Oh no! There's no strawberry daifuku for me! What a shock! The strawberry daifuku made with Nara's high-sugar and large "Koto Ka" strawberries is exquisite. I will definitely come back to buy some tomorrow. And of course, the fruit parfait daifuku "Koiike fireworks" is also amazing. It's worth trying these Japanese sweets. Thank you for the meal!

This is a popular shop near the Higashi Osaka Golf Center. There is parking space in front of the shop. On this day, I had Konoike fireworks and strawberry daifuku. The Konoike fireworks are served frozen but we let it thaw at room temperature for about an hour before eating. The daifuku has a cake-like taste inside and is very delicious. It's more like a Western confectionery than a Japanese one. It's innovative and I really liked it. The staff members were also very nice and I had a good impression of them. I would like to go back to buy more.
