Today, I went grape picking for Shine Muscat starting at 9 am. It might be a bit early, but they were delicious with a mild sweetness. I tried over 10 different types of grapes. Personally, I thought Niagara grapes were the best, haha. I also enjoyed the Tsugaru apples, pears, prunes, and plums. The apples and pears were especially delicious. I feel so full... I also bought peaches, apples, and grapes as souvenirs. Next stop, Kakinoki, haha. I wonder if I can eat more.

Grape picking~! The weather is nice, so why not go grape picking... I want to eat Shine Muscat grapes! When I searched for Shine Muscat grape picking, I found this place! A week ago, someone wrote in a review that "it's still too early for Shine Muscat," so I wonder if it's okay now? The grounds are very spacious. I thought it would be fun to come cherry picking, but at the entrance, the cost for adults is 1100 yen, and there's a course where you can eat unlimited apples, plums, and grapes. There's a sign that says "One bunch of Shine Muscat per person," but when I asked, they said "Shine Muscat is sold out." Oh, they're all gone... I entered the grape field and tasted black, green, and purple grapes, and then I spotted Shine Muscat! Amazing! It's all enclosed with nets, so you can't even touch a single grape. Oh? When I can eat Shine Muscat, I want to come back again.

Scorching heat, scorching heat, scorching heat! On this sunny day... after enjoying the "manpuku chirashi" dish, we drove for about 15 minutes in a car with the air conditioning blasting from the Yoichi IC to the long-established Sankurambo Farm located on the Fruit Highway. The heat from the blazing sun was intense... dangerously so. Cherry picking (all-you-can-eat with 200g to take home) for 1,300 yen per person. "Alright, let's eat!" "I know a lot about cherries, so leave it to me!" "Gold King" is a good choice! "Sato Nishiki" might be a bit off season. "Mizukoh" just because they are small and red doesn't mean they are sweet, timing is off. "Nanyo" oh, this one... munch munch. "Kohshuho" plenty of them and a consistent taste. "Is the theory that the sweeter ones are higher up true? Let's use a ladder to go up." "Okay, how about this one?" "Sweet!" "It's hard to prove, but it's delicious." This time, we both agreed that "Nanyo" was the best. The texture was excellent, the sweetness was strong, and there was a good amount of acidity in the aftertaste... GOOD! We carefully selected about 200g, around 12 cherries, to take home, choosing a tree that looked delicious. It may seem nonsensical to think about getting your money's worth at an experiential farm, but for 1,300 yen including take-home cherries, the cost performance is quite good. You can eat much more than buying them at a supermarket. This time, we both ate a lot and were very satisfied. It was incredibly hot... but refreshing. Experiencing this in the short summer of Hokkaido, thanks to the lucky clear weather, was a unique experience. It was amusing that the car's thermometer in the parking lot showed 40℃ (laughs).

I went there for the first time in about 20 years♪ When my children were young... Among the many tourist farms, this place is the most affordable to visit using Sapporo Support. It's a bit far from Sapporo, but if you use the highway, it doesn't take as long as you'd think (^^) They give you paper cups because of the coropon? To prevent seeds from flying around. You have to throw them away in the trash can on your way back (laughs). There were a total of 6 varieties of all-you-can-eat cherries♪ The Nanyo cherries weren't as sweet as I thought (sweat). I used to think they were sweeter and tastier than Satonishiki because the grains were larger, but this time they were late in the season, and the Satonishiki cherries were large and ripe, so they were very delicious\(^-^)/ The new variety similar to Satonishiki was also delicious♪ The other type, similar to Summit in color, was the sweetest, but it lacked acidity, so it became a bit boring (laughs). In the end, I went back to Satonishiki ( *´艸`)ウププ I think that if they were to be put on the market now, by the time they reach consumers, they would be too ripe and become disposal items. So, I think that fully ripe cherries at this time can only be eaten at places like this, not at the market. Nevertheless, large, fully ripe cherries are delicious (*^^*) It feels like my mouth and stomach are filled with jam♪ My right fingertips are getting sticky (^-^ゞ I ate too much (^-^ゞ but it was delicious (*^^*)

On July 15, 2020, I traveled from Shakotan to Kyowa to Niki, circling around the Shakotan Peninsula and stopping to buy souvenirs on the way back. I have pollen allergies and cannot eat fresh cherries. Everyone seemed to be enjoying cherry picking. Niki Town seems to be the most popular spot for cherry picking, as there were many cars parked despite it being a weekday. I bought a pack of recommended Sato Nishiki cherries at the shop for ¥400 including tax. They say Sato Nishiki cherries are sweet and delicious! Cherries, apples, and peaches are absolutely off-limits for me. In recent years, I have also been avoiding watermelons and melons. I wonder if there will ever be a miracle cure for pollen allergies, just like the COVID-19 vaccine?

I traveled from Sapporo Nishi to Yoichi on the highway for the first time since it opened. It took about 15 minutes to arrive after getting off the highway. I arrived in the morning and there were quite a few people already there, it seemed like it might get crowded soon. Maybe because it's the end of the season or because a lot of people came the day before, there were fewer red cherries than I expected, but you can still find them if you look around so that was okay. It's good that the varieties like Sato Nishiki are written on them. The red cherries are sweet and delicious. It was quite hot because there is a vinyl roof above. Even though the temperature was 29°C, it felt like 33°C. T-shirts and jackets stick to you because of the sweat. I recommend preparing drinks in advance. I'm satisfied because I was able to eat a lot of cherries.

Every year, it is a tradition to go fruit picking, and this year we decided to go cherry picking. It took about 1 hour and 40 minutes by car, with a little traffic jam along the way. The sky was a bit cloudy, but it was humid and occasionally sunny. It wasn't cold or rainy, making it a perfect day for fruit picking. We parked the car and climbed the wooden staircase to the reception area. At the reception, we received entry tickets and 100g take-home tickets. If you pick more than 100g, you have to pay 100 yen for every additional 50g. There was no time limit for picking, so we could eat as much as we wanted. We walked to the orchard, admiring the delicious-looking soft serve ice cream, Genghis Khan, curry rice, etc. We entered without much waiting. And now, the cherry picking begins! We scattered around to pick cherries. The trees were full of cherries, resembling clusters of grapes. The cherries weren't overly sweet, but had a pleasant tartness. Since there were many other customers, the sweet cherries within my reach were limited. However, there were step stools and boxes placed around, allowing us to reach the delicious cherries. We repeated the happy moment of picking and eating 4-5 cherries each time. After about 30 minutes, we were quite full. We gathered more cherries for take-home, aiming for around 15 cherries per 100g as instructed. We realized we had probably eaten over 1kg of cherries in that short time. Overall, it was a satisfying cherry picking experience with plenty of sweet cherries. We left with full bellies, already planning to eat Genghis Khan back in Sapporo. We talked about wanting to come back here next year. It was a delightful cherry picking experience! Thank you for the delicious cherries!

This year, we visited Cherry Mountain again. We were taken to a different place than usual, where the cherry trees had labels with their names wrapped around them. Just because they are Satonishiki cherries, it doesn't mean they are sweet. This year, I felt that the taste was not as good. For lunch, we had Genghis Khan with cherry meat. However, it was hard to taste the cherry in it. I had eaten a lot of Genghis Khan at Sapporo Beer Garden the day before, so it was quite tough, but I tried my best not to let my family notice. The cherry seed-spitting competition was held at 12:30. I didn't win this year because I couldn't get a good distance on my spit. It was nice to receive delicious cherries as a prize. I dominated in the private seed-spitting competition (laughs). I also received a bottle of wine. I enjoyed the cherry soft serve ice cream as a prize, and the weather was good, making it a nice day. Thank you for the meal.

The alley was muddy due to continuous rain, but it was expected. The cherries inside the tent were large and delicious without any cracks. The charm of cherry picking is being able to taste various varieties. I tried some varieties that I had never seen in stores before. For lunch, I had cherry-infused lamb barbecue at a restaurant. The marinade had cherries in it, giving the meat a slightly sweet aroma. The lamb was very tender. It came with a variety of vegetables and two plum rice balls, all for 1480 yen, which I think is reasonable. They also offered free barley tea. After the meal, I had cherry soft serve ice cream, which was 350 yen for a generous portion. I wished they had a smaller size available. I was looking forward to the cherry pie, but they didn't have it. The cherry bun had cherry jam inside and was delicious, but it was quite small for the price. The staff at all the shops were few, so there were times when we had to wait, but they were friendly so I didn't feel annoyed.

Welcome. ---------- August 2016 ----------It's also nice to drive along the Fruit Highway. If you just follow the sign that says "Cherry Mountain↑" on the electric pole, you'll get there easily. Good morning, it's early. Only the Omiya shop is open. For sweets, they only have soft serve ice cream. One of the famous places for cherry picking is "Bring me some tomatoes♪". The atmosphere is calm and soothing, and the kind lady serving the cherry soft serve is very grateful. The cup melts smoothly in your mouth, spreading the flavor of cherries and the richness of milk. The sweetness of the cherries is also well pronounced, with a refreshing aftertaste. There is a resting area on the 2nd floor, and in the back is a "Genghis Khan" restaurant. They also have apple picking near the entrance. I wonder if "Apple Cheeks" are born from this place. Just being in this place makes my mind feel empty and relaxed.

On July 3, 2016, when you think of Nemiki Town, it's all about "sakuranbo" (cherries) this time of year! My wife wanted to eat sakuranbo soft serve ice cream somewhere, so I did some research and came here. Actually, this place seems to be one of the few places in town that offers sakuranbo soft serve ice cream. "Sakuranboyama Kanko Nouen" is a place we visited a few years ago with the family for cherry picking. We followed the staff's instructions to park at the parking lot up the hill. When we visited, they were holding a cherry festival nearby, so there didn't seem to be as many customers as usual. We went to the shop and ordered two sakuranbo soft serve ice creams from the old lady. The price is 350 yen each, so some might say it's not the best value, like the guy from Abashiri who commented "bad cost-performance ratio!" (laughs) Plus, it looks a bit small, so that might make it seem even worse. The taste is of course sakuranbo! It tastes very similar to cherry ice cream. Well, both are from the "Rosaceae subfamily Prunoideae genus Cerasus subgenus Cerasus" family, so it's only natural (laughs). The gentle flavor of the soft serve doesn't linger in your mouth even after finishing it. The shop also sells sakuranbo manju (steamed buns) and chiffon cakes (cherry, wine, chocolate chip, apple, plain), among other things. It seems like my wife also bought a chiffon cake, but I didn't try it, so I can't comment on the taste.

I always participate in my wife's company events. The main attraction is the "seed-spitting contest." I get really into finding the tastiest cherry tree to eat from. This year, I was lucky to find a delicious tree. We have lunch in a large covered area. I think we can harvest grapes in the fall. We ordered seasoned lamb for 880 yen plus a vegetable set for 240 yen. The stove is already set up, so we cook Genghis Khan hot pot. Unfortunately, there's only light barley tea for drinks. I asked the staff for some water to fill the pot's edge. We cooked meat on the mountain of the pot and simmered vegetables in the meat sauce on the edge. That's the real charm of Genghis Khan hot pot. The three of us had four servings. I heard this Genghis Khan hot pot also has cherry pulp in it. Personally, I prefer a slightly spicier sauce, but it was still delicious. Now, it's time for the seed-spitting contest (laughs).
