The crunchy hormone was delicious! I visited Miyamoto Hakata Gion, a long-established restaurant known for its motsu nabe, which was even Michelin-rated. The restaurant had three table seats and even a second floor. The unique way of serving motsu nabe involved starting with only hormone and leeks, seasoned simply with soy sauce. Towards the end of the meal, cabbage and tofu were added to give it a more traditional look. Additional ingredients like tofu and vegetables were optional. I personally enjoyed the mix of crunchy hormones, which was to my liking. The simple seasoning was flavorful and not overwhelming. The meal ended with champon noodles. The beer was average, but the highball was served in a can and poured into a glass, which was interesting. The vinegar motsu appetizer was also delicious, just as the reviews said. Overall, it was a tasty meal!

Cold spring's famous Hakata motsunabe restaurant. The place is small and not exactly clean, but the motsunabe here is excellent. And it's cheap. At first, you might hesitate to go without knowing anyone, but it's totally fine. The powerful garlic-flavored motsunabe is simple yet incredibly delicious. After eating here, going to other expensive famous restaurants seems foolish. Thank you for the meal. #SatisfiedBelly

I have been taken to this place by my boss a few times! At first, it's just leek and offal! A straight-up offal hot pot. You can add cabbage or switch out the pot for endless offal hot pot. There are various parts other than round intestines, and the strong soy sauce base is addictive.

One night as the season was transitioning into autumn, two of us revisited a restaurant where we hadn't eaten anything since morning. We decided to leave it up to the chef for the amount of hot pot, and ended up having 5 servings each x 3 (laughs). We ordered just 2 servings of champon noodles to be more modest. The hot pot usually only has intestines, but here, there are 8 types of intestines that have been carefully processed and are incredibly delicious. If you love intestines, you must try them. The soup, which has been meticulously branded, is just as good as Kawabata's. Of course, we paired it with a 5-bottle size of sweet potato shochu.

This place is not far from Kawabata and is close to Kushida Shrine. I had been curious about it for a while, and finally got to try it out. While most motsunabe places typically only serve intestines, this place serves 8 different carefully prepared types of motsu. Each piece is clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. I can imagine that grilling this motsu on a charcoal grill would be delicious. The soup is also tasty, but if you're looking for soup, Kawabata might be a better choice. It's hard to choose between the two. The meticulous care put into every corner of the restaurant reflects the owner's passion. It seems to be a favorite among Yamakasa participants, just like Sakebar YASU. It's clear that restaurants frequented by Yamakasa participants are of high quality. The "Beginners Not Allowed" Kagoshima shochu has a sweet potato aroma.

Walking through the back alleys of Hakata Gion, you come across a quaint house that is actually a popular motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurant. Upon entering, the first floor is packed, so we were led upstairs to a full tatami room. The motsunabe had a basic flavor but was delicious. The highball was served in a can and the chu-hai in a bottle. Overall, it was a great experience!

"Alicia's Food Log: I received three choices from a friend and chose this one. It's a bit of a walk from Hakata Station, but the weather was nice so I enjoyed the stroll. The menu... well, there isn't one (laughs). When you order beer, they bring you a bottled beer of your choice - Asahi, Kirin, or Sapporo. For food, they only serve motsunabe. They brought us a serving for two - lots of motsu and leeks. You can ask for refills. The motsunabe also includes tofu and cabbage, very simple but delicious! We finished off with champon noodles and left very satisfied with the night."

I visited "Miyamoto" for the first time this year to enjoy motsunabe. When I entered, the atmosphere was old-fashioned and had the charm of a traditional motsunabe restaurant. The first floor seemed to be for small groups, so we were led to the second floor where it was already full of other customers. Once everyone was there, the motsunabe feast began! The motsu included a mix of tripe and various parts. However, unlike other motsunabe restaurants where the fatty and chewy parts like round intestines are popular, there were mostly tripe and other parts here. The motsu and leeks were pre-cooked and served first, so we started eating right away. The simple soy sauce-based broth with a hint of garlic and a slightly strong saltiness made the beer go down smoothly. The portion was modest, so we quickly finished the first serving. Just when I thought the remaining motsu would be taken away, a new pot with broth (including motsu) was brought in. This time, there were plenty of vegetables like cabbage added. We ended up finishing everything, and then added more broth for the finishing touch of champon noodles. By this time, we had switched to shochu instead of beer. The high-alcohol shochu paired well with the flavorful broth-soaked champon noodles. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal from start to finish. Lately, I have been eating motsunabe with white miso and round intestines, so the simple soy sauce base was a refreshing change. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I was taken to a renowned motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurant by a friend who always assists me during my stay in Fukuoka. To my surprise, this restaurant has been featured in the Michelin guide before. The first thing that caught my attention was that the hot pot served initially only contained leeks and tripe, and we were encouraged to enjoy it without any additional ingredients. The simplicity of the motsunabe was appealing, allowing us to savor the pure flavor of the soup with tripe and leeks. The broth had a strong punch but was smooth and easy to enjoy without the distinctive smell of garlic. I quickly finished my first bowl. The second serving, which included tofu and cabbage, was more familiar as the typical motsunabe. However, compared to the first bowl, it felt more mellow. It was truly delicious. As I glanced at the wall, I noticed the Michelin plaque, confirming the quality of the restaurant. The vinegar motsu (tripe) was also delicious, with thinly sliced tripe providing a unique texture. The kind proprietress even allowed me to compare different shochu (distilled spirit) varieties, each offering a distinct flavor. Although we exceeded our reserved time, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It seems that only seasoned customers can reserve bottles at the restaurant, so I have a long way to go before reaching that level. Despite visiting Fukuoka for about 10 years, I realized that the local restaurants have so much depth. I would love to visit this establishment again because the food was truly delightful.

I arrived in Fukuoka the day before participating in the national final doubles golf tournament and visited "Miyamoto" for a practice round after my friend, who is familiar with Fukuoka, made a reservation for us there. My friend had visited a few times before and highly recommended the delicious motsunabe (tripe hot pot) here, and it was indeed amazing. The tripe is first simmered with leeks and you eat that first. Then you can add more tripe along with vegetables. The vegetables absorb the flavor of the tripe broth and taste incredibly delicious! This was the first time in my life eating motsunabe this delicious. It's completely different from the motsunabe I've had in Kansai. The broth has a rich flavor and umami that is indescribably delicious, truly the taste of the authentic dish. It's not too fatty, so you can eat as much as you want. For the finishing touch, we had champon noodles with tripe and vegetables, and the combination of the broth with the noodles was incredibly tasty. I am grateful to my friend for introducing me to this incredibly delicious motsunabe. And... I was surprised by the cost performance! We drank and ate for about 7000 yen for two people. I will definitely come back to this restaurant when I visit Fukuoka again. I have a feeling that this meal will help me perform well in the tournament tomorrow...

A shop that specializes in motsunabe for one person. The motsunabe is served on a portable stove and you can start eating right away. It's so delicious that you finish it in no time, go for three refills, and forget to take pictures. That's how good it is. It includes intestines and stomach lining, which I like, and the soup is also tasty. Oh, be careful not to finish the soup completely or you'll get scolded by the owner. They also offer delivery, which seems more promising than ordering from a major chain. Since we're staying home for New Year's this year, I might give it a try.

This restaurant has been sticking to a style of serving only leeks and offal since ancient times. The restaurant has a traditional atmosphere. The garlic is plentiful, making it a stamina-boosting dish. Among all the offal hotpot restaurants I've been to, this one is the most delicious with its soy sauce base, according to my friends. The oba-chan (old lady) at the restaurant is also unique and makes the dining experience enjoyable. Although the menu is limited, if you're looking for a slightly different offal hotpot, this is a good place to go! After eating the leeks and initial offal, you're allowed to have seconds of cabbage, haha. A big feature is that it includes various parts such as hormone, intestines, and gizzards, so you won't get tired of it!

I stumbled upon a motsunabe restaurant by chance. The atmosphere is great. I couldn't see inside... Should I go in? Should I stop? I hesitated for 10 seconds. I decided to visit. Wow! The walls are covered in autographs! There's Ichiro from his Orix days, enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa, and many sumo wrestlers. My excitement levels rose instantly. The female owner was very welcoming. "We don't have a menu, we only serve one dish, so please wait," she said. It felt like a place with a lot of history. The generous portion of motsu was delicious! But once again, it was too salty! Do people from Hakata like salty food? Oh! They also served motsu sashimi with ponzu sauce, which was incredibly tasty. We added extra ingredients to the hot pot and finished with ramen. We enjoyed Sapporo beer and shochu, and the bill for four people came to only 9700 yen. The motsunabe itself was around 1700 yen per person. Such a great deal! I promised my wife that we would come back again. Thank you for the delicious time. (*^^*) I exchanged business cards on the way out.

When it comes to Hakata, you have to try motsunabe (tripe hot pot), so I decided to stay at this inn recommended by the locals. This place is popular among sumo wrestlers during the Kyushu tournament. The menu only offers motsunabe, but the taste is so good that you won't get tired of it no matter how much you eat! You can eat as many servings as you want. If I have the chance to visit Hakata again, I will definitely go back to this restaurant!

When it comes to talking about motsunabe in Hakata, this is a must-visit restaurant. It feels like stepping back in time to the Showa era with its traditional attractions and the staff who serve the motsunabe. When I first visited and asked for rice, they responded with something like, "Rice? We don't serve that here, if you want to eat it, bring your own." Located right in the heart of the Yamakasa culture, this restaurant is where the men of Hakata have gathered for generations. Children long to grow up quickly so they can experience the dramatically delicious smell that wafts from the restaurant. It's a cultural heritage site for motsunabe in Hakata.

Excellent. High quality and delicate. It is evident that they put a lot of time and effort into carefully preparing their dishes. The flavors are indeed rich, but they are willing to adjust them as needed. It was very delicious.

When I went on a business trip to Fukuoka, I visited this restaurant with my senior colleague! Even though it was my first time there, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the customer service from the staff were so warm and welcoming, it was fun even before we started eating (^ ^) The motsunabe (tripe hot pot) was soy sauce-based with a strong garlic flavor, similar to the stamina ramen from my hometown Nara, and it looked great too! It wasn't as spicy as I thought, and it wasn't greasy either, so I finished it all in no time. Then, the staff immediately added more ingredients, and after repeating this a few times, we finished with ramen as the final dish! It was also delicious, with the noodles soaking up all the flavors perfectly!! It was my first time trying authentic motsunabe, and I didn't expect it to be this delicious... Fukuoka is truly amazing!! Haha :)
