I often have lunch at Hakata Station. There is a counter so it's fine to go alone! It's on the 9th floor of Kuuten. Today, after running errands with my husband, we had lunch. I wanted to eat salmon and ikura, so I chose the 7-item lunch set. Every dish was delicious and satisfying. There are 3 types of sauces included, so it would be nice to be recommended which one is the best. You can get free refills of rice and miso soup.

It was raining, so we had to cancel our reservation at another restaurant and ended up at this place instead, which turned out to be a great decision. The course came with all-you-can-drink option and it was very cost-effective and delicious. We were able to enjoy a luxurious time drinking draft beer in a tin cup. If given the chance, we would definitely visit this restaurant again.

I visited this restaurant while attending a rakugo performance at JR Kyushu Hall for the first time. I had made a reservation for just the seats in advance through Tabelog. I arrived a little before the reservation time and found that the restaurant was almost full, so I recommend making a reservation. I sat at the counter and ordered the omakase (chef's choice) set with all-you-can-drink. The tare (dipping sauce) and fresh vegetables were already set out, which seemed to be the equivalent of an appetizer. The skewers were fried right in front of me, and each dish had a unique touch, without any greasiness. When they brought out the dishes, they recommended a specific tare for each one, which I found to be quite interesting. The menu had a wide variety of options, but I managed to try all 20 items listed on the order slip. Even after eating so much, I didn't feel heavy, which was impressive. I didn't bother taking pictures of everything because it was too much trouble (laughs). I spent about an hour and a half there, had 3 glasses of draft beer, and 4 glasses of red wine, totaling just under 10,000 yen. At 300 yen per skewer, it may seem a bit pricey, but I guess it's understandable for a restaurant in Hakata Station. The staff were very friendly, and even as a solo diner, I had a great time. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

It's a so-called high-end tempura skewer restaurant. I used it for a business lunch, opting for the 3500 yen course with a drink. The unique skewers with six different sauces were quite impressive. It had a luxurious feel and was perfect for business lunches. However, it's not the best value for money, so it might not be ideal for private use. The taste was good though.

It has been 6 years since I last visited this restaurant street, after a French restaurant closed down. I arrived almost exactly on time for my reservation and was seated at the left end of the counter. I had reserved the "Luxurious lunch course with A5 black wagyu beef: 13 dishes for 3,850 yen" and started with a "Draft beer for 680 yen". The course included a vegetable platter, two appetizers, four assorted tempura skewers, four chef's recommended tempura skewers, rice with small dried fish and pickles, miso soup, and dessert of the day. After finishing the appetizers, I was served the black wagyu beef. The "angel prawn" was delicious, but I avoided eating the tail as it seemed sharp. The tempura for the next guests was being fried one after another, and my dishes were brought out at the right timing. I was eagerly waiting for the asparagus, a favorite ingredient of mine, which was also a reason for visiting a tempura shop in Hachiman-dori. However, before the asparagus was served, the beef mince cutlet was brought out followed by the rice set, signaling the end of the tempura course. I realized then that the asparagus was not included in the course, so I wanted to order it separately, but by the time I thought about it, I was already full from eating the rice. I ended the meal with dessert (salt milk ice cream) and left the restaurant exactly one hour after entering.

We ordered the "Monday to Thursday Limited" welcome and farewell party course with 8 types of deep-fried skewers and all-you-can-drink for 15 items at 4,500 yen per person (tax included). I forgot to take a photo as soon as the dishes were brought to the table, so the number of items in the photo is sparse. We visited this restaurant with our family because our kids wanted to come back after our previous visit. The deep-fried skewers had a crispy coating and featured seasonal ingredients this time. We enjoyed the food so much that we ordered additional skewers because we wanted to eat more. All of them were delicious.

I climbed the ladder of kushiage♪ Here, kushiage is served in a tray. You can have unlimited refills of white rice and miso soup. They also put crispy bits on the extra rice, which is nice. The kushiage had a light batter and I could eat as many as I wanted. The kushiage with ikura was delicious. The service was also good♪

Second visit. A skewer restaurant on the 9th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata called Kuuten. They serve skewers until you tell them to stop. This time, I wasn't very hungry so I only had 9 skewers. The dashimaki tamago was soaked in broth.

I made a reservation for a private room and they brought meat skewers first, followed by fish and vegetable skewers, so I didn't feel too full and enjoyed my meal. The skewers were delicious, and the alcohol was easy to drink. The total cost for two people was around 11,000 yen. The miso sauce for the vegetables served as an appetizer was so good that I wish they sold it. I will definitely go back again!

I made a reservation and went there. There were about 5 groups lined up before noon. I recommended the skewers for lunch. The asparagus was big and delicious. There was shredded dried fish on the rice. I was planning to order individual skewers, but they were not available for lunch. I ordered the rolled omelette separately, and it had bonito dashi on it, which was a bit surprising but tasty, like deep-fried tofu.

I went on a business trip to Fukuoka and made a reservation in advance for a course meal with 6 people. We started with a toast with draft beer in heavy beer mugs. The beer was cold and refreshing. We ordered as shown in the photos. The appetizer vegetables were delicious, we wanted more. The course meal was quite filling, with hot skewers that went well with the beer. Even though one person arrived late, they served the skewers separately for that person, which was a nice touch. We ended the meal with dessert and left feeling full and satisfied.

I went to Kushitei at Amu Plaza Hakata for lunch. I had the seasonal assorted tempura skewers! They were all delicious and surprisingly not greasy even though they were tempura. I ended up eating 22 skewers. Kushitei serves highballs and carbonated drinks that are very refreshing, but I had to resist because I came by car.

I went to the restaurant Kuten on the 9th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata. They have private rooms, counter seats, and table seats. Groups with children were seated in the private rooms. I ordered a lunch set which included 7 pieces of tempura for 1760 yen at a table seat. The tempura, along with salad, all came on a tray at once. The tempura gradually cooled down, but the first piece was piping hot. I especially liked the salmon and salmon roe tempura. They offer free refills for miso soup and rice, which had small dried fish sprinkled with sansho pepper. It was a Sunday afternoon, so the restaurant quickly filled up with customers. As I left after paying, there were 5-6 people waiting in line. Every restaurant seemed to have a line, so Kuten is quite popular. Overall, there was nothing particularly bad, and considering the location, the price seemed fair.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. The staff did not provide much explanation. I struggled with how to order while looking at the menu. It felt a bit unfriendly. There are two courses available: the set course includes appetizers, rice, and dessert, while the omakase course involves random skewers coming until you say stop. The set course costs around 5000 yen for three tiers. The omakase course costs 300 yen per skewer. I chose the omakase course and stopped at 10 skewers. The skewers were a mix of meat, fish, and vegetables, truly random. They were brought in sets of two per person, at a good pace, and it was easy to say when to stop. They also recommended different condiments and sauces for each skewer, making it enjoyable to try different flavors. I forgot to take a picture, but there were five types of condiments, including miso for vegetables. I had two drinks each and enjoyed 10 skewers and appetizers for 5000 yen, which I think is a good price. Non-alcoholic options were available, and the local cider was great. It was served in a bottle, so there was plenty to drink. Despite a drink being spilled, the staff only apologized when cleaning the table, and there was no special farewell. It was a bit disappointing considering the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. The first skewer, featuring black wagyu beef, was delicious with a hint of oiliness. There were also individual items available for purchase, as well as desserts. Rather than leaving full, I recommend enjoying a variety of delicious items. I was able to use a private room, and the atmosphere was great for easy conversation.

Located on the 9th floor of the "Kuuten" dining area directly connected to Hakata Station, this tempura restaurant offers a variety of deep-fried skewers. Despite being tempted by the neighboring tonkatsu restaurant, I decided to try this place instead. The interior has counter seats and table seats, and since it was past the lunch rush, I was able to sit at a table even though I was dining alone. For lunch, I ordered the Tempura Set (5 skewers: 1,320 yen tax included), which came with rice and miso soup that you could refill as much as you wanted. The tempura skewers included shrimp, cod (originally mackerel but I requested a change), okra, minced cutlet, and pork fillet. The batter was crispy with fine bread crumbs, which I liked. The shrimp was large, which was a pleasant surprise. The pork fillet with grated daikon was refreshing, and I enjoyed the minced cutlet as well. The skewers came with a choice of sauce, rock salt, or ponzu. The rice was delicious, topped with dried small fish flakes. The miso soup was also tasty. The meal also came with a salad and simmered burdock root. Instead of water, they served cold tea, which was a nice touch. Overall, I felt that maybe a couple more skewers would have been nice, but with the rice and other sides, the portion was actually quite satisfying.

Located on the 9th floor of Amu Plaza Kokutenn at Hakata Station, just 20 meters from Hakata Station. We wanted to go to a popular lunch spot, but the line was long, so we ended up at a tempura restaurant called Tokyo Ebisu Kushitei, which seems to have its main branch in Ebisu, Tokyo. This time, we followed the recommendation of the staff and ordered a set of 7 assorted tempura skewers. The set included seafood, beef menchi katsu, pork fillet, and a total of 7 skewers. The taste was not particularly outstanding, and I felt that the cost performance of 1,760 yen was not great. Since the skewers didn't come out one by one, I believe there are still cheaper and tastier options in Fukuoka.

I wanted to have a relaxing lunch, so I decided to go to Kuuten in Hakata Amu Plaza. I was torn between tonkatsu, pasta, unagi, oyakodon, but I ended up choosing the special assorted tempura set because the tempura with ikura looked delicious in the photo. I chose the special assorted tempura set. The asparagus, shrimp, beef menchi katsu, sawara, pork fillet, bamboo shoot, and salmon with ikura were all delicious. My wife had the angel shrimp fry and salmon cheese fry set, which also looked delicious.

This time, I visited Tokyo Ebisu Kushitei Hakata Kuuten located at 1-1 Hakata Ekimae, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, on the 9th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata. I went for lunch during the pandemic, so both the floor and the restaurant were quite empty. The interior has a counter and sofa seats. In the kitchen behind the counter, you can hear the sound of skewers frying. They offer six lunch sets ranging from 1200 yen, and a lunch course of skewers for 3300 yen (including 8 skewers and appetizers). One of the popular choices is the special skewer lunch set for 1600 yen (including tax) with a glass of draft beer. The beer comes in a tin cup, giving a luxurious feel. It's delicious! After a while, the lunch set was served, and all the skewers were freshly fried. The rice with small fish feels a bit messy. The side dishes include kimpira, salad, and miso soup, which are pretty standard. There are 7 types of skewers, including shrimp, asparagus, yellowtail, beef croquette, salmon roe, pork fillet, and simmered daikon. The skewers have a crispy coating and a good balance of fish, meat, and vegetables. I even got a refill of beer. I would like to try the course next time so I can savor the freshly fried skewers. Thank you for the meal.

We made a reservation for 11:30 on a regular day and went with two people. We ordered the somewhat extravagant Tempura lunch course for 3,300 yen (tax included). The table was set with sauces and fresh vegetables. The course included a vegetable assortment, two appetizers, four assorted tempura, four chef's recommended tempura, rice with small dried fish and pickles, miso soup, and dessert. The appetizers arrived quickly, followed by two tempura items at a time. Each tempura dish was carefully selected and delicious, with the angel prawn being a standout. The tempura was light and not greasy, allowing us to enjoy each dish without feeling heavy. Despite feeling full by the end, we managed to finish the dessert. We left the restaurant satisfied after about an hour.

The taste was not bad, but the problem is that the way they serve the skewers makes it difficult to dip them in the sauce. Also, in this case, there were seven different types of skewers in the set, which made it even more challenging. I noticed that many people around me had the same habit, so maybe that's why there aren't many skewer restaurants in Fukuoka.
