Today I had some sweets at this place♪ They were selling special sweets at the Tenmangu Shrine in Domyoji. After enjoying the plum orchard, I bought and ate their Domyoji Mochi (sakura mochi)♪ The rich aroma of sakura leaves was delightful to the nose~ The sweetness of the red bean paste and the salty sakura leaves matched perfectly, making it easy to eat it all in one go. It was very delicious, thank you for the meal♪

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Fujiidera City. Established in 1964. It is situated on the north side of Kintetsu Fujiidera Station, facing the arcade shopping street called Ekimae Kita Shotengai. In addition to selling traditional Japanese sweets, they also have a café space where you can enjoy desserts. They have many sweets with difficult-to-read names. One of their sweets is called "Usugasumi," which is a type of traditional Japanese sweet. It consists of candied plums wrapped in sweet bean paste and encased in a steamed bun dough. The plum inside has a seed, so be careful when eating it. The packaging is very elaborate. Another sweet they offer is called "Shurabayashi," also a traditional Japanese confectionery. It is basically a yellow powder-covered rice cake. Each pack contains 8 pieces. The rice cake is sweetened with sugar syrup and generously coated with yellow powder. The powder tends to stick, but the rice cake has a chewy texture and a refreshing taste.

I had never visited this place before, even though I always passed by. I finally decided to stop by in search of the strawberry milk daifuku advertised on the sign. It costs 220 yen each. It was completely different from any strawberry daifuku I had tried before, with a milky white bean paste that was elegant and delicious. They also had a chocolate daifuku for 180 yen, with a refined white bean paste and a perfect combination of chocolate truffle. They often sell out by evening, so I recommend visiting early. (*´ω`*)

I used to buy the Mikasa at the former Koshitsu Mountain Kofun, but recently I found out that there is a uiro modeled after the ancient tomb, so I went to try it. It was a cute uiro made of matcha in the shape of a keyhole-shaped tomb. With the registration of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun as a World Heritage Site, the local area is gradually becoming more lively. I took it home, but there was also an eat-in space available.

From Fujiidera to Oyama, I visited the Shuugou Ayame Ayame Garden, had lunch at Tenohira, enjoyed delicious coffee and cake at Coffee Shop Terra, visited Karakuni Shrine, and then went to Katsuraji Temple. The iris garden in Oyama was in full bloom, and I had a relaxing time taking photos. Back in Fujiidera, I had lunch at Tenohira, enjoyed coffee and cake at Coffee Shop Terra, visited Karakuni Shrine, and then went to Katsuraji Temple, one of the Western Japan Five Great Temples. Unfortunately, the tea shop in the temple grounds was closed, but I found a nice cafe nearby where I enjoyed water moon cakes and green tea. The staff were kind and the prices were reasonable, but the lack of smaller tables made it a bit awkward for a solo visitor. I left before a group of four ladies arrived, as I didn't want to intrude on their lively conversation. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

After visiting Geinji Temple, I passed through a shopping street and came across a stylish Japanese sweets shop. I decided to stop by and bought three items to take out. I enjoyed them with the matcha I made at home! - Strawberry Milk Daifuku (200 yen): It was delicious with a balanced combination of cream with condensed milk and the acidity of the strawberries. - Sakura Mochi with Matcha Bean Paste (200 yen): The bean paste inside the sakura mochi was made with matcha. The sakura mochi had a vibrant pink color. It was a seasonal limited edition item that my family enjoyed. - Ohagi (100 yen): My family also enjoyed this. The prices were a bit on the higher side, except for the ohagi.

Located in the Kitashotengai shopping street in Fujii-dera, unlike the station area, this old shopping street has been bustling with various events and stamp rallies recently for the revitalization of the community. The interior of the shop is quite chic with a black color scheme, and there is a small seating area where you can enjoy drinks. I ordered the recommended item, the strawberry milk daifuku, which is prominently displayed at the storefront. It has a white bean paste with condensed milk, offering a gentle yet firm sweetness. Even for those who are not fond of white bean paste, this might be worth a try as it gives a mysterious sensation that is a mix of Japanese and Western flavors. The whole strawberry, which is quite acidic, balances perfectly with the sweetness. It was very delicious. [Recommended course]: Visit the station → Fujii-dera and Kankoku Shrine → Take a break with the strawberry milk daifuku.
