Osaka, Kawachinagano, Mikkaichi Town, "Modaka" Curry
Lately, I have been going from my home in Sakai to Kudoyama quite frequently. There is an urgent matter I need to attend to. Sometimes, it coincides with lunchtime, and other times I purposely pass through during lunchtime to eat out. Of course, it is very convenient when there are good restaurants or places recommended on food review websites like Tabelog. However, if I run out of such places, I have to search for something new. One day, such a situation arose again. So, I decided to search for a restaurant along the way on the internet. I discovered a restaurant located in Mikkaichi Town, which is quite far from the commercial area of Kawachinagano and is in a quiet residential area. I was excited as this might lead me to discover a hidden gem eatery that I love. With high hopes, I set my navigation. I left the national highway and entered a narrow alleyway. It was difficult for cars to pass each other in such a tight space. I started to doubt if there could really be a restaurant in a place like this. Would customers really come here? As we went deeper into the alley, we found the restaurant. It was a sophisticated, hidden gem-like, unmistakably Indian cuisine restaurant. There was a fairly large parking lot. Several cars were already parked, and more cars arrived after us. It seemed like a place that would be hard to reach without a car. Upon entering the restaurant, I was captivated by the large oil paintings and Indian-style decor. I chose my meal while being enveloped in that atmosphere. I hesitated between the B set, C set, and D set. The slightly higher price of the C set with various items attracted me. The D set seemed like too much. I decided to mix the naan and rice. The curry came in two varieties - shrimp and vegetable. It was served with potato and cauliflower, eggplant tempura, and tandoori chicken. It also included chai. This is what I had. The portion was a bit too much. The vegetable tempura was very delicious, made with good quality vegetables. The tandoori chicken was spicy. The curry was quite ordinary, not very spicy. Perhaps a bit more heat and spiciness would give it a more impactful flavor. I had a satisfying lunch in a very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.
